I'd guess that he is at most straight with a little bit of bi-curious. His off screen escapades, which were always fodder for on screen discussion with not only him but others in the house always revolved around his hetero***ual encounters. In fact, there was some drama as he had a girl friend at home who did NOT know what he was up to at the fratpad and he apparently had a one night stand with another girl who knew someone who knew the girlfriend. It was a whole big thing. [SPOILER] Speezy was perhaps one of the fratmen who was the most comfortable with male/male activities. There were many duos and private videos of him performing mutual ************ and oral *** with other men. [/SPOILER]However, he was very VERY worried at all times that these activities would be revealed to his family and friends at home and would often talk about the anxiety that this concern caused him. I will be extremely interested to see how all this plays out on the show as I'm positive that there's now no way he will be able to keep his past a secret from anyone.

I don't know any spoilers either, but I am familiar with his past.
I can tell you that he would absolutely deny ANY ******** tendencies. He often got offended when teased about that claiming (perhaps correctly) that the things he did with other men were only acting for the sake of the paycheck. I'm not one of those here who is certain that "Gay for Pay" is not what it claims to be. But I also am not totally convinced in Speezy's case that that's the whole story either. He is a very sweet guy with a volatile temper and an off the wall manner that can be either endearing or annoying depending on how you choose to take him.

I think Gay for Pay i***actly what it claims to be. While I think that some people who might be gay/bi may not want to admit it openly for whatever reason, I do not think that having *** with the same gender automatically makes you gay any more than having *** with the opposite makes you straight. It is easy for people to be judgmental, myself included, when we have food on the table, a roof over our heads, and a family to fall back on. Not everybody has that and I could easily see somebody doing it for that reason. I have never been a drug addict, but that seems to be an avenue in for some as well. I am hoping he has an interesting story connected to why he did it. Your description of him makes me wonder if maybe he is bi-polar, though that is my default position on many Real World castmembers with issues.

Agreed. Straight people can have *** with the same ***, and gay people can have *** with the opposite ***.
It might lead people to question their motivations for doing so, but being gay or straight is about way more than who you sleep with.
I'm definitely interested to see how this story plays out. I wonder if he knew he'd be "outted" as having been on that site when he signed up for the Real World. He must have known there was a good chance.
I mean, he's got a lot more than his little "showmance" to worry about, if he didn't plan for this. His family will have found out, his friends, many people in his life that might not have known.
If he didn't plan for it, he is about to be steamrolled. There are some in the gay community who will be every bit as vicious with him as those in the more conservative straight community. On the other issue, I read an excerpt from an interview somewhere or the other where actor Tom Hardy talked about how when he was younger he was with men and now that he is older he is with a woman because the things he wanted out of life are different now than then. It was an interesting perspective on the identity issue.
I doubt you'll find some kind of tear jerking back story as to how and why he got into the industry. I believe it was something as simple as he was young, he was pretty and he was approached with an offer to make lots of money with little work and he jumped at the chance. It starts with an offer to just model nude, then the offer is expanded and before you know it, you're a **** performer. At least that's the tale he always told to the frat members as to how he got started. Sorry, but no heart-string pulling tale of family disasters or desperate need. I do know that Speezy was always conflicted about the "I can't do this forever and what am I going to do with my life next" conundrum. He would often get depressed and vent to the members about it.

I used to be a member of Fratpad and recognized Spencer/Dustin the minute I saw him on Real World (I had no clue he was going to be on it).
A few websites have his Facebook status from before The Real World and one of his hobbies is listed as "Gentlemen". Also, he has erm....how can I phrase this...been with other men on Fratpad.

That is correct. I read an article somewhere about Fratpad supposedly trying to hide his past with them (even though apparently they moved him to their front page since RW began based on a post I saw on FB) that had an embedded link in it that when you clicked on it took you to a page of screenshots where he is most definitely doing more than just being naked in a shower with another dude in what I will refer to as Monica II: Electric Boogaloo. He looked pretty young so I am guessing this was a few years ago.

He was one of the first guys on Fratpad in 2006 and was there for about 4 years (I was only a member for about three months, but I still follow who is on it). They do hang out naked, but also erm.....perform self-love (as it was called on one of the RW Dailies) at some point in every "show" (one show lasts about two hours). They also have "duos" with each other where they assist each other in performing self-love together, and sometimes more.
Fratpad has actually deleted Dustin/Spencer's vids now, but they are still available online.
Added edit: I've just rewatched what he said about Fratpad and he said that none of the guys are gay. That's not true. Most of the guys are straight, but they have had a few gay ones.

See that is where he will get himself in the most trouble. If he just owned up to it then he could just dismiss the haters as being homophobic. By misrepresenting/lying about it, he is going to give the haters a veracity argument that he will have no defense to whatsoever, which is why I call this his Bill Clinton moment.
I really don't care what he did then and wouldn't care if he is back doing it now honestly. I don't think of him as a role model and I don't see him trying to be one so we are good. I just think he is entertaining in his eccentricity.

I read somewhere that adult sites are taking a beating in the recession. I am guessing that either Fratpad got some cash out of this or they are playing along to facilitate getting him on air a lot at which point they will reroll out his content like mad. Someone posted on FB (or maybe twitter, but I think FB) that they put a Spencer link back on their main page as soon as RW started airing so I am guessing the latter.
