Just watched the Dailie and quite frankly it doesn't change my opinion on anything. Laurel was definitely the instigator and acted embarrassingly and deplorably. Yes, Eric did say some things, but it seemed to be that it was more in response to being attacked. He was just going over there and she started laying into them. He responded with a couple of barbs, but not nearly with the vigor and disrespectfulness that she showed. He's no saint, but this is 96/4 on Laurel - and I'm being nice to her by saying that.
The apology was fine, doesn't move me in the least. If she's truly sorry, she'll stop acting like a snotty seventh-grader and grow up. Actions, not words, are the most important thing here.
I thought I saw some sincerity in her during her apology clip but I didn't. Watching the incident between Eric and her again makes me dislike her even more. Can't blame Eric for standing up for himself. Bunch of other guys would have called her name and stuff. I don't think his come back to her is too offended. It's unrealistic to say "oh, no matter how mean you are to me, or how much you call me name, i'm just gonna play nice and not defending myself". She said the reason why she apologized this time to Eric is because she felt like she did hurt somebody. So she acknowledge about her behavior with other people but it's not serious enough for her to apologize ??? Talk about wanna be a better person... I really don't get it ...
I believe that she apologized because of the backlash she is getting. I did not see anything that proved that she honestly felt bad to ERIK.... The person she hurt! I think she felt bad for Laurel...
According to her on this board, she said she apologized the day after.
But I don't she made a real effort until she saw the backlash on the sneak peak. But who knows, I don't know these people personally, so how what happened?
I don't know if Laurel needed to make an apology video IMO that's a little much because honestly what Laurel did is not that far off of what several people on other shows do(not saying that makes it right) but I think the only person she should apologize to is Eric and she claims she did that so she needs to do no more in my eyes.

Awesome post. Agree with everything you said
People need to get over it already, she apologized numerous times, including the day after, on Facebook, making videos, here on Vevmo. She's done all she can do and there's nothing else to it. Laurel was a big person in the situation by confronting the entire population of viewers to admit to them she was wrong and that takes a lot. For those saying she didn't mean it, you really don't know if she does or not but why would you assume she doesnt? Do you really think she cares how people view her? Yeah she might because she wants to be liked by viewers but at the end of the day she only has to worry about herself on the challenges. I believe her apologies were sincere and she has done all she needs to. It's on Eric's shoulders now whether or not he will accept and crush the entire thing and make it a thing of the past.

She has to care how people view her. Why would she issue so many public apologies? To make herself look better or at least civil at the end of the day. The only person she owes an apology to is Eric. Everything else was just extra and honestly, not really necessary.

What I really meant was she doesn't have to care, but she can choose whether or not she does. Obviously if she does care, it'll affect her, but if someone like Coral did that to somebody she probably would choose not to care about what people's reactions were. The person in the situation doesn't need to please everybody, but obviously she's doing what she can to try.

People can react to it however they want. For me, just saying sorry, while better than saying nothing, isn't good enough. She has to eliminate that awful behavior from her personality altogether. Obviously it will take a while to determine whether she's done that. But its easy to throw together words and make it look like you are sorry - it's more difficult to actually follow through and live those words. Until she does, people have every right to be skeptical about it.

Why would she apologize to Eric the day after on the Challenge, due to backlash from the sneak peek if it hadn't even aired?

Yep that's my point.

Exactly! Took the words directly out of my mouth.
While not necessary, it's still appreciated. She went over and above the requirement to seek forgiveness and people still can't get over it.
I agree. It's done, over with, now move on people.
I for one never bought her apology:
On FB or twitter? I don't follow her; could you post it here?
On Facebook.
To sum up the first part, Laurel told people to tune into Cutthroat, and someone asked if she was going to belittle another man because of his size. He said that what she said was hurtful, shameful, and beyond rude. Also said that he had been ridiculed his whole life for his size, and how her tirade made him feel like the fat kid in elementary school all over again.
And then Ashley said this:
wow...now I kind of want to see what this guy posted. So I friended her just to read it, but I'm probably gonna remove her as soon as I finish.
I summed it up for you, but word for word:
"are you gonna get drunk and belittle a man for his size again? Look I saw the apology on MTV.com and thats great. I applaud you HOWEVER as a big man, the rant you went on last week. drunk or not, was hurtful, shameful and in this day and age to hurt someone verbally for their size is beyond rude ...its bullying and its just plain horrid. I have be ridiculed my whole life for my size, and like eric i have lost over 75 lbs but your tirade made me fell like the fat kid in elementary school all over again"
