Yup, I kinda like it maybe it gives them time to fine tune some of the things that aren't working on the Challenges, and with the TJ Lavin situation it gives them a break for him hopefully recover.

Notice how every challenge year, the months mostly do an alternate switch for its airing process. 2006 Fresh Meat - May The Duel - October 2007 The Inferno 3 - April 2008 The Gauntlet 3 - January The Island - September 2009 The Duel 2 - April The Ruins - September 2010 Fresh Meat II - April Cutthroat - October 2011 Challenge 21 - (2nd Quarter ) -- guess is mid May Challenge 22 - (4th Quarter if gets renewed) -- guess is early November Every year there is two challenge seasons, one starts January/April/May, second one begans September/October. So my speculation for next challenge is to began airing on mid May, then the second challenge will start early November.

I'm guessing we are looking at a May/June airing? If RW airs in mid-March..13 or 14 weeks (depends on the reunion and stshs) which would be mid may early June.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I've read some threads that say this next challenge will have the ultimate (athletic) cast. Have we assembled any definite cast at all or is it way too early?

Many people believe that it will be the duel 3 and many "ultimate" cast members stated they will only come back for a duel. That is where they are getting this from. It is nothing more than an educated guess at this point.

Question..is part of the reason that they are filming during the Spring that they are entering negotiations now to see if they get renewed and want to have time to wrap things up in case they get cancelled?

I'm so pulling for a break in between Cutthroat and Real World: Vegas. I think it's needed.

If they're making their first calls now and the cast doesn't have to leave until spring that's a good amount of time for them to get their business taken care of before they have to leave to do a challenge. If they are doing that Duel 3 / best athletic cast they would want to give them all a chance to make it. And who knows maybe the Vegas kids would be on it too. Personally I think they should get rid of that lag of new players. I think it would really help the ratings if people fall in love with the Real Worlders and see them on the next challenge. (Example RW: Austin -> Fresh Meat.)

Not sure what anybody means when they say new players since some mean the most recent additions and some seem to mean anybody not from RW or RR. I like some of the newer players. Paula, Brad and Derrick are starting to look like they may not have many more of these in them so gotta get fresh blood. I would like for BMP to also come up with something totally different to give these guys more options but I am not sure what that could be. I would be willing to bet dollars to doughnuts (an expression that inflation renders less meaningful every year) that something like a RW reunion house show would do as well as either RW or the Challenges ratings wise where basically cast members from different seasons would just chill for a few months or like a travel show where different sets of alums would eat, drink and travel together for a few episodes each.

I'm confused. I thought that the B2Vegas and Cutthroat were the last two "cycles" on the contract. Has there been any word on MTV extending the contract?

I'd loved to see Duel 3 or The Island 2.

I don't think anyone would want to endure that Island experience. I'd like to see Battle of the Sexes 3, Fresh Meat 3, or The Duel 3 just so Mark can come back lol

Fresh Meat 3 & Duel 3 are going to happen, I think, the challenges seems to have always 3 versions. BOTS I don't know, the second was almost seven years ago...
