Didn't Las Vegas just start filming. I don't see Las Vegas airing until January at the earliest.
Still Jan/Feb..if the challenge starts Feb through March..they will need time to edit and what not..so that Challenge wouldn't start till May or June. Still a lot of space between both Back to Vegas and the next Challenge.

We're probably looking at a mid-late March premiere date for Las Vegas.

I wonder why they are going to have such a huge gap..
Road rules maybe :D
Wishful thinking.

Man I would just DIE if they bought back Road Rules then that would render the Stale Meat useless.
But It's a pipe dream and nothing else.
Not that Derrick would know but on his pod-cast he said "Who knows... maybe Road Rules will come back" I mean he could have been just saying what he hoped for. Do you really think if Road Rules came back that they would do away with the fresh meaters? I def. dont think so. They wouldnt do more seasons of fresh meat, but they would definitely keep the FM regulars- Kenny, Evan, Ev, Casey, Diem, Ryan, and Eric. I think it's a little too early to tell who the FM 2 regulars are going to be but I'm gonna guess Laurel, Brandon, Cara Maria, Mandi, Theresa, Luke, Pete, and Noor. But like I said it's too early to tell.
We will not be seeing any RW/RR/FM anything until the end of March : (. Cutthroat ends on December 15th. Lets hope these ratings keep up for Cutthroat though and the challenges get renewed!

So there's going to be a huge time gap between CutThroat and Vegas because I believe CutThroat has 11 episodes (TJ Lavin said there will be 9 elimination rounds) +Finale+Reunion

Finale and Reunion are airing back to back

I don't see them reviving Road Rules unless they cancel Real World, which is not outside the realm of possibilities but unlikely.
Why are they waiting so long to film the next challenge, I always thought the next challenges cast left just a few weeks after the current challenge airs?
MTV has a lot of shows that are doing much better than the challenges so obviously they want to give them priority spots over shows that don't do as well. Also there are some scheduling ideas they want to work with as far as what things air when and what things air together.
The only shows are Teen Mom/16 & Pregnant and the Jersey Shore. JS is going to die out soon hopefully. The Real World and the Challenges aren't going anywhere as long as they pull in around 2 million viewers.
I guess I can dig the long break. Hopefully it goes back to once a year or so liket the original challenges.
I can't, I love the challenges and whenever they're not airing I have to deal with minor speculation and annoying new Real Worlders, yuck.

I said it once here, one thing they could do is set it up like a real tv show. From August to December we have Real World, then January to May we have the Challenge. Have the summer off and its give people a break and a chance to miss it.
I'd be happy if they cast more people on Real World who would actually do the Challenges and be contenders. Seems like a lot of the RW guys at least have been shunning the Challenges except for the bottom shelf athletes like Chet and [strike]Derrick[/strike] Derek from Cancun.
Remember not everyone does the Real World just to do a Challenge, I think Sarah has been one of the few who has openly said one of the reasons she did Real World was to be on a Challenge, but most just do it for the actual Real World experience and thats it.

That would be epic and awesome if they set it up like that. They should take note.
