The Real World: Back to Las Vegas

Let's hope it can match the amazingness of the original Vegas season! :D Although, I'll be satisfied if it's only as good as New Orleans...
I'm wondering if Nashville has ever even been in the running. It should be! It's a great city. The major thing about it is that it's a BOOMING city with people in their early-20s moving there more and more. It also was getting some national attention with the flood a couple of months ago. And not to mention...those bars are a lot of fun! Absolutely crazy night-life. If there never is a Real World Nashville, I will be surprised - and disappointed.
My DVR and Neilsen stuff both say "The Real World: Back to New Orleans".
For tonight's episode, my DVR (Dish 722K) says: The Real World New Orleans: Over Knight. On the MTV website, it is referred to as "The Real World New Orleans" or "Real World XXIV: New Orleans" although the url is /neworleans2. TV Guide just calls it "The Real World" without reference to city and adds the episode title (as does FutonCritic.) Finally, this Official MTV ratings press release on TBTN calls it, The Real World: New Orleans.
“The Real World: New Orleans” #10 original cable series of the summer with P12-34 Season to date, RW: New Orleans (1.9) is up 27% versus the prior season. Recently delivered season high rating (2.3) on 8/25, and the strongest for the franchise in almost a year (since the Real World: Cancun finale, 9/9/09). Streams for “The Real World: New Orleans” on MTV.com increased by 24% over the prior season.
In my opinion , its the cast that makes the season not the location(all though it does help). I mean Cancun was a great location for a "Party Season" and I think alot of people had high expectations for it. But in my opinion Cancun was horrible and I think a lot of that had to do with the bad cast. The biggest cast members on the show was Ayiiia and Someone who wasnt even casted ..-Pat. I feel like the cast wasnt able to carry out the expectations of what you would think Real World Cancun would be. Any way after thinking about it I think Vegas will do will...- If they have a great cast built around it too. BTW- Do you guys think they have the location picked out first and then try to build the cast around the location?

I'm shocked that they're doing consecutive "Back To" seasons.
I'm shocked that they're doing consecutive "Back To" seasons.
Why? Hollywood and Brooklyn were consecutive.

AT&T U-Verse's DVR calls it Back to New Orleans. Wow I'm shocked this is true. Not sure how I feel about this, definitely predicting more of a Cancun type season than a B2 Nola type season. I should probably give it a chance though. Just the idea of going back to Vegas does nothing for me, maybe because I've spent time there, I know Vegas, and I'd rather see something new and different.
This stupid as hell. The contract will be up for renewal soon and two back to back seasons we are getting? wow. I can't even...
Why? Hollywood and Brooklyn were consecutive.
Not essentially the same thing.
This stupid as hell. The contract will be up for renewal soon and two back to back seasons we are getting? wow. I can't even...
Las Vegas was one of their highest rated seasons. How is it a bad idea?
Las Vegas was one of their highest rated seasons. How is it a bad idea?
Ratings don't necessarily mean everything and also I never said it was a bad idea I just said that it dumb that they are doing two back to seasons.
Actually, when your contract is us for renewal and the show hasn't had a stellar showing for a while -- ratings are very important. New Orleans brought the ratings back up. If Vegas can continue the trend, then Real World might be able to get renewed for 4 more seasons as opposed to 2 more. If season 25 tanks -- the shows days will likely be numbered...but if it stays the same or improves, that will determine how many more seasons they get.

But Do you really think if they renewed the show and it wasn't a back to season that the network would have ordered only 2 more seasons? I'm interested. I really like these shows.
Yes! I think it will do great!

The most recent "original" seasons - Cancun and DC - both tanked in the ratings, so I'd say they aren't taking any more chances at the moment, going back to a proven location. Personally, I'm disappointed. But yah, I totally get it from the perspective of, to get the renewal, they need good ratings.
Thats a really awesome choice =]] I wouldn't be surprise if there's a Paris or LA season for 26 or 27.
Thats a really awesome choice =]] I wouldn't be surprise if there's a Paris or LA season for 26 or 27.
I would love to see "The Real World - Back to Los Angeles". I'm pretty much fine with any season as long as it's not "Back to D.C." or "Back to Philly".
Do you remember, I called it! I said maybe a Back to Las Vegas! It was shot down! And I commented that maybe they'll start doing only "Back To" Seasons! Haha! Maybe, I'm wrong, but so far this is the "2nd Back To" season in a row. Good Job, kdub90! lol
I remember and I do not think the location is what made the rating it was the cast of the original Las vegas season ,But hard rock is a really great choice hopefully they leave alot more then the original did.

I don't understand why they're doing Las Vegas again. There're a dozen of cities they haven't done yet but they choose to do another "back to" season. More Proof that BMP is getting Lazy.
I'm kinda pissed they went there again to...they should of waited a while longer but hopefully this is the last of the back to seasons for a while...maybe they will follow this pattern: back to season, back to season, new location, new location, back to season, back to season. Idk but since hollywood thats how its been... BUT ANYWAYS... I really hope this cast is amazing they have alot of shoe to fill whether you hate that season or not the original cast was so perfect...perfect combination of craziness and serious problems...and i'm still getting over franks pecs..omg lol but anyways I wanna see another hot gay guy like Mike on this season guys like Preston are funny but they get old after awhile VERY FAST and they have guys like that on a whole bunch of other reality shows...
I don't understand why they're doing Las Vegas again. There're a dozen of cities they haven't done yet but they choose to do another "back to" season. More Proof that BMP is getting Lazy.
Quite simple really, ratings.
I think it would have been nice if they actually had plans to put them in a house this time instead of a hotel.
So casting has been finished for a while, right? I thought they had already started filming. I wonder why its been pushed so far back :unknw:
I had a feeling it would be in Vegas. I can guarantee you that this season is purely for ratings and is not a location they truly want to go to. I remember back at my casting call in May, the casting director was talking about how they tried to move the show into a different direction with D.C. however, they were disappointed because nobody took interest and people would rather watch shows like Jersey shore with drunken fights and hookups. So that told me that basically they're just going with what "sells" as their contract renewal is on the line. I believe once the show gets renewed, they'll try and veer out of the party direction and take the show to a whole other level with a really "serious" season.
I think it is a great Idea. RWNO did great and I hope this will as well.
[strike]hello again friends! back to vegas= lame in my book. i didnt like the first time because it just seemed to be a bit much. too forced. too much partying, not enough anything else... but i do agree it has a lot to do with the cast... i guess we'll see what happens.[/strike] Hello again friends! If they were looking for access to casinos, mega-resorts, and late night watering holes why not consider filming in Atlantic City instead? Absolutely lazy location scouting.
Fun fact: The pool at the Hard Rock Las Vegas is named "rehab". Who cares where the show is? Are the cast members good? Is it funny? Is it full of drama? Put 8 crazy strangers in a house in Fayetteville Arkansas and you'll get TV just as good as if you put them in Toronto if the casting is good enough. All they need is a bar and some deep-seeded insecurities.
