Lol thought so. I guess there's always the jersey shore......lol jk. I would be so out of place there. So when do u think this season will start filming molds since you seem to be pretty accurate with your info and speculation?

Sometime before the end of the year. If I really had to narrow it down, July/August.
I think its going to be renewed until season 30 and they keep the challenges going after that if anything =)
Wanna make a bet?
IF BMP can come with a big hit with New Orleans and produce a season as good as we THOUGHT DC could have been for season 25 and 26, then then yes I would bet that it would get renewed. That's a BIIIIGGG IF though. However I don't think its impossible. They just need new producers and story writers that will give the show a new take on the roommate's "true story...."

What do you mean by "story writers"? Wouldn't the "story writers" be the roommates? Or do you mean "editors"?
And "just needing" new producers is a task that's more difficult to accomplish than you might think.
Nope...I meant story writers. the people who sit in the producer's office and watch everything thats happening. Then writes stories based on what happened. Then the story editors are the people who choose what scenes to put together to create the stories created.
The company was just bought out by the company that produces Big Brother. They have someone from that show step in and give the show a fresh new spin.
When does semi finals start?
And what new spin could Real World possibly add without losing all integrity or becoming cheesy?

NOTE: We do not work for or have any affiliation with BMP and have no idea what the specific dates or even time frames are for this upcoming season of the Real World (nor do we really care).
Molds, noooooooo!
I'm gonna be so sad if the Real World ends before at least season 30 and I never even got the chance to audititon :( haha
Well then you'd better pray for a miracle in ratings.

-how about a house that they have to pay rent for? look for people with awesome work experience and give them ok-paying jobs that can they'll be able to use to support themselves.
-Show college students that go to school for a semester while living in the house.
-have them travel the world. basically like the original road rules minus the rv.
little things can be changed that would keep people interested. Like if someone gets kicked off, let the house "look" for a new roommate (basically meet and choose from the finalists that didnt get picked.)
they need to stop trying to make stories relevant and seem interesting.
example:
Brooklyn: Boys vs girls storyline
one of the main storylines that was repeated in more than a couple episodes when they could have easily be replaced with more of Baya's storyline. this season was a great season overall, but if they showed Baya's storyline instead of this, I think people would have liked the season ALOT better.
Cancun: Pat/Jonna/Jasmine love triangle
nobody cared about that stuff. they could have went more into dealing with derek, emilee, and jonna's adoption stories.
DC: ty and emily storyline
its always fun to watch two roommates having a showmance. however, their little hookups did NOT deserve 5 episodes worth of airtime!! they should have shown footage of them having to deal with the bloggers and being followed all the time.
all of these seasons had potential to be GREAT seasons but failed due to poor choice of stories.

[strike]Agreed,Hate to say this but all the cast are the same They all party alot there just edited DC partied alot as seen by pics and it was virtually edited out of the show This Season will be the same heavily edited to a point where it becomes boring and one sided,Cancun as well. They should for this season and everything else put more of what goes in the Dailies instead of actual edited footage,The castmembers are always more likeable on the Dailies.I want them to cast this season and put them in a non-serious environment like Huntington Beach or Portland.Note just cause you have plans for what you want to do in life doesn't make you serious type person(example Devyn,Ashley,Emily and Ty) could easly been on Cancun or Sydney so I don't understand the label of Serious and Party, there were alot more issues pressed in Cancun then DC[/strike]
I agree. I hate to say this, but all of the casts are the same. They all party a lot, they're just edited depending on what kind of season they're going for. We got a lot of pictures of the DC cast partying a lot and it was edited out of the show almost completely. This season will be the same: heavily edited to a point where it becomes boring and one-sided. Cancun was the same as well. For this season and for future challenges, they should put more of what goes into the Dailies into the show instead of the actual edited footage, because I think the cast members are always more likable on the Dailies. I want them to cast this season and put them in a non-serious environment such as Huntington Beach or Portland. Just because someone has plans for what they want to do in life doesn't make them the serious type: for example, Devyn, Ashley Emily and Ty could have easily been cast in Cancun or Sydney. I don't necessarily understand the label of serious and party. Even though Cancun was a "party" season, they still pushed a lot of issues - a lot more than DC.

Maybe you guys won't agree with me but I feel they are trying to cast party people because they want good ratings. They probably saw how good Jersey Shore was and are trying to turn it into that. Do I think this plan will work? Of course not. Once again I tune into the Real World because I love to see people with different backgrounds interact and I love good stories. I would have loved to see someone with autism on the show, as long as their autism isn't like very bad where they cannot speak or work on their own that well. A deaf person would sound cool but be difficult. If it was someone like Christi from Survivor then I can see it working but I wouldn't want to see them talk in sign language the whole time. I just want them to cast people with stories because the last thing I want to see are 8 strangers who just party and drink. If I want to watch 8 people drink, party, and fight about dumb **** then I'll tune into the Jersey Shore. I feel that back to New Orleans and Real World 25 won't be that good going from how Cancun and DC did in ratings. You would think they would try to work on their mistakes but I guess they just keep repeating them.
So I just I went to the casting call today in Columbus, OH and I thought I pretty much nailed it. I was the only one in the group who really had a story and I think everything I said pretty much stood out compared to everyone else in the group. For my group though they only asked two question. The sad thing is, they gave us the line that they would be calling at 10 p.m. tonight to let us know if we made it. I heard that and was thinking great....so much for that.
Does anyone know the likely hood of them calling? I was watching a lot groups come down in 10s and figured some of them looked the part.
I went to the call in Seattle this morning, there was like NO ONE there it was kinda sad. I met a few really awesome people in line and in my group. They took us in groups of 8 and asked us to all introduce ourselves, say something interesting about ourselves and why we want to be on the show. Then he asked if we thought America was more or less racist after Obama became president, then if Seattle is pretty liberal. That was about it he said this was an audition, only some of you will make it if your name is called stay if not we'll keep your file better luck next year. I didnt get called, there was a guy that had bypass surgery in my group who didnt get called either, they chose an openly gay guy who talked the whole time (I loved him tho, hoping he'll make it!) a kinda silly white guy who was wayyy too over the top, and a girl who seemed really stereotypically ditzy. Oh well :) it was a fun experience. Hope they get a great cast together!

lol the reason I wasnt asked to stay back because I actually was open about myself. I rather be open then sit there and say nothing. I mean how can someone who says like nothing carry on a whole season. Also I had a great story but that also hurt me because the gay card has been played. I guess homosexuality really hurts your chances lol. It seems each casting call was looking for different people. Unfortunately I guess the NYC casting call only wanted calm quiet people or alcoholics, which I am neither.
I attended the SF casting call today. From what I saw, they are not going the serious route this season. The casting director said it himself.
He said they decided to go with a different route with DC that focused on politics and social issues, but despite that, it had the worst ratings of all time. And he said that it really sucks that our generation doesn't take notice of that and would rather take notice of things like Jersey Shore and Bad Girls Club.
That kinda tells me that they're trying too hard to conform with what people want. That's what is wrong with the show. They are trying to hard to be relevant which gives us the impression that the Real World is getting old. BMP needs to chill out and stop messing with a good thing. Just let things happen and it'll happen.
DC didn't focus on politics. Out of the entire season, they might have focused one hour on social issues. The rest was sex.. Fighting.. Weird random locals... And panda hats.
I don't know what that person is talking about.

[strike]Barely If that,For this season to do it real big its lot about location the people they cast will feed off there environment,The cast is important but I think if they just but 7-8 really interesting people and just through them into an amazing location the show would be great. They need to look at the first 8-10 seasons and use that as an exemplar.[/strike]
For this season to really succeed, it's all about the location and the people they cast will feed off their environment. The cast is important, but I think if they just put 7-8 really interesting people and just throw them in an amazing location, the show would be great. They need to look at the first 8-10 seasons and use that as an example.
Exactly my point. The only good episode was the first one with the whole religion argument. If the season was FULL of that material, they could have set records from attracting not only a younger crowd, but also an older crowd who would perceive this show as having substance and something of relevance to the world. DC, in my honest opinion, could have easily extended the Real World contract to season at least season 28 if not 30.
And this casting director did things a lot more differently than what everyone has mentioned their experiences being. The whole discussion lasted for a good 20-30 minutes. He went around in a circle like everyone else. However there was no "misconception" question nor was there a topic to be discussed. All he did was go person to person doing a mini-interview with them in front of the whole group. Everyone got to talk and everyone got to share their story. The questions he asked us were based on responses in our application. He actually took the time to read and discuss our answers with us. It was very interesting, however not expected. I loved this way better though than my season 23 casting experience (which was dead on like the other experiences stated on this thread.)

Yes... Agree... They either need to get new producers, editors, and story writers :p or they need to get all the old ones back. The problem with the Real World is that the system has been revamped. They abandon a perfectly working formula. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. From Miami to Sydney the real world, in my opinion, was good and you knew what to expect. But after Sydney BMP renewed their contract and decided to change the RW formula. That is when they started to have problems. They change 7 strangers to 8. They try to fit people into specific stereo-types, they don't have group jobs, the cast members are boring (cancun cast was awsome), they been having some really ugly people on the show and some weirdos... the list goes on.
If it wasn't for the nice house, the opening credits and the Real World font, I wouldn't even know that I was the real world. So vanilla.

That is not totally wrong that they want to conform to what people want?... No, That is totally right and is what they should be doing... Honestly what 12yr old - 30yr old (cool person) wants to watch ppl BS about politics....???? None. Keep up with the times ppl. And yes I would much rather watch Bad Girls Club and Jersey Shore than that Bull Crap. Hell, BMP even produces BGC (bad girls club)... get with the program RW.
What kind of crap was DC... Really... Politics on **** Mtv, what were they thinking?!?! If they are planing to make more silly seasons like that (dc), they should just pull the plug.

DC may not have focused on politics and social issues that much, but that was how the show was Marketed, which to me was a big turn off.

My casting experience was like this too. There were no topics discussed. We just went around the table telling the groups about our lives. I was pretty happy with this because most of the time they say like "tell us one interesting thing about yourself." There are many but its hard to think right there of which one is the best to say. I rather just get to talk about myself and why I want to go on. Also you get to share a story. My casting lasted around 30 min too.
Mine was a girl. I think my casting had all girl directors
