Has anyone got a response from a video they sent in????
Has anyone got a response from a video they sent in????
I don't think anyone gets a call for the semi finals until all the casting calls are done and they review all the on camera interviews and home tapes.
So which is the better way to get on the show. Send in a tape or go to a casting call? And if you do a tape what should be on it?
So which is the better way to get on the show. Send in a tape or go to a casting call? And if you do a tape what should be on it?
Depends on your personality and personal preference :)
They should really have someone with a disability on the show...why don't they?!?!?! Wow I never even thought about that.
I want to know that to? Do they have something against them seem like they do
Me to be honest with people I think the casting call was kind of awkward. Mostly everybody got a VIP Pass It didn’t mean nothing for the real world 25 casting call because The VIP people and the people who didn’t have one some was in the same group of 10. Me to be real with yall I think the real world casting didn’t like me when they first saw me and when I said my name they look at me in a funny way and I can read body language very well they say they looking for different people but I see the same ones be on the show. I was one of the people They was looking for on the show I say one of them because I didn’t get call back it been 2 weeks and I didn’t get ask to stay back. I had put some interesting things and what’s going on with the f*** up things in dc today and social issues that happen in dc and a very crazy awkward embarrassing moment on the real world application I was filling out at the casting call in dc bottom line is that real world don’t like me and don’t want me Because I think they got something against me even from the real world 24 casting call that was in dc which was I better casting director then the two ladies that was in the dc casting call in dc. The producer or the casting person who ever he was it was going on 4:45 the casting call was bout to end he was saying they might let some people in like after five and they some not going get in the casting place and he pointed at me particular so no point of me auditioning for the real world 26 or attending the casting call because they wouldn’t pay it no mind and plus they might of just threw me audition tapes in the trash Which I audition for this season and I the 24 and I think the 22 season. ( I think because of my voice why they don’t want me) That was my goal oh well what can I say or do
I'm going tomorrow to the call in NYC and I have a quick question about the application. Some people mentioned filling out an app - does everybody get one once they show up in line or do only the people who make it past the first round get one? I'm paranoid there's an application we have to bring with us but it doesn't mention anything about it on the site.
I got rejected for being to young :( (I'm 18). They said there was no point in me trying to make it to a casting call in the US because the chances of me getting on the show were very slim, however they said that they were planning a UK casting call in the future and would like to see me tun up :)

Is anyone going to the New York casting today? I want to know how it went.
International Season maybe?
Really, if it means that the season will be in the UK then im not applying, I want a holiday not to live in rainy london for a few months.
Whats sup everyone. Im Greg and I went to the NYC casting call earlier. Just gonna give a run down of what happened. Ok so to start I get this 'VIP Pass'. So I was super excited cuz I thought I was special...hmm So I got there around 1 o'clock. 6th floor of some building in Chelsea. I go to the table she asks me 1) how did I hear about the casting and I tell her on that Bunim-Murray website. Then 2) If I was a VIP, which I told her I was. She highlighted my name and gave me an application to fill out. Ok let me just say the characters that were tying out!! You had everything from the gays, to the ordinary's, to the goth, to the people who though this was jersey shore ( I SWEAR I thought I saw Snooki). It was a wide array of people there. So it took me like 20 mins to fill out this application. After I filled out that application I seriously stayed in that holding room for almost 3 hours. Just waiting for numbers to be called ( I was 358). So she started calling numbers. She also would call VIPs. Now for all of you who get those VIPs, do not feel special. When she called VIPs, literally half the room stood up. It was crazy. I thought it was a special thing, it wasn't. So eventually my number got called. So they took people and split them into groups of 10. Those groups of 10 were then led into ANOTHER room where 4 of the groups of 10 waited to be led into the actual interview room. Ok so in my group was this skater guy who wanted a cigarette really bad, 2 white girls from Westchester, 2 black girls from Jersey and the city, this Indian guy, and then there were like 4 people that came all the way from D.C. They were an interesting group. There was one girl who said she was enjoying the 'other side'. Then the other girl wanted to be a makeup artist. Then there was this guy named Billy. He was gay and VERY flamboyant. He had on this off the shoulder shirt, with these tiny shorts and platform boots. Visualize it?? And the last guy in their group works at teen vogue. It wasn't his thing he said, and he had the high top cut from the 90s. So that was my group of 10. The lady kept coming in saying we all could be the cast right there. She was like this can be the cast. These people tight here. So we left that room and walked all the way down the hall and got behind the other group in line to go into the room where the interviews were happening. So we were waiting for like 5 minutes before the skater guy just was like , I don't feel like waiting. He dipped. I was like you waited all this time just to leave?? So after **** near 4 hours, we finally got into the interview room. So we all gather around the table where this lady is sitting. I honestly forgot her name, but she was somebody. So she said to go around and basically just talk about you and sell yourself and yadda yadda. The stories worth telling IMO was the Indian guy, Billy (the gay guy) and the last guy with the high haircut. Billy talked about how he wanted to go on and help people who were HIV positive (which he was). The Indian guy talked about how his family doesnt even know he was there. And the last guy I honestly forgot what he talked about. But it was good. Everyone else kind of blended together. I didn't really like what I talked about. Whenever im put on the spot and I dont know what to expect I either freeze, forgot stuff or say random stuff. And I forgot alot of what I wanted to say and I said a bunch of random ****. I hated what I said. So after we all were done, she said she had to consult with the producers in LA to see who she would call back on Sunday for a longer more in depth interview. She said they would call by 10 pm ( I didnt get that call). And she held the Indian guy and the guy with the high haircut, which meant they got the longer interview automatically. And that was the NYC audition process. If you have anything to ask, just ask it!
alright here's my casting experience. I also went to the NYC casting today Well I got there around 10am when it started so it wasn't as packed as it was when Greg was there. I went to the 6th floor and went to the room and I also had the pass. I was asked how I heard about the casting and stuff and given my application and went to the VIP room. I took also around 20 min to fill out the application. Also I have gone to a casting call before so this wasn't new to me and I knew how everything worked so I wasn't as nervous. I got on line and waited about 20-30 min before I was put into my group of 10. I personally don't want to reveal names or their personalities much because of confidentiality purposes. Anyway my group was pretty interesting. However while waiting in like the "preppy guy" in my group was with her friend and was saying how he sees no talent in the room and that no one looks like they can be on a reality tv show. I guess he thinks you need a certain look just to get on. Also there was a girl who was dressed like lady gaga lol. There were a lot of VIP's and some were really nice while others were snotty *****es. The girls in my groups were really nice and we talked about how this casting is like a game and as much as we are all nice to each other, it is every man and woman for themselves. So we finally get to go to the hallway where other 2 groups are still waiting. In these groups were some cool people and other stuck up little brats who thought their **** don't stink. Now I have an awsome personality and a great story with my life. My application answers were so good and long. I was looking at other peoples answers and they had like literally 2-3 word answers. How can you get so much from someone with short answers like that?? I talked to people in the other group telling them about my past experience and what will happen when they get in their. So finally we go into the casting room and sit down with our group of 10 while 2 others groups are at tables doing their interviews. Also Nick Brown was there, which I didn't really care about since he wasn't that important lol. So we sit down and each say our name, age, where we are from, and a little about ourselves. The first 2 went and talked for like 5 min and just said basic things. the first kid I couldnt really understand because of his accent and the other girl was pretty cool but I could tell she was having trouble getting her point across that she can be a *****. Then it was my turn. I am openly gay and talked about how I hate that on the show all the gay guys are ******** and hook up with guys and girls. It reinforces the belief that homosexuality is a choice and I talked about how it isn't. I also talked about how I am underweight and how people underestimate me because I am gay and skinny so people assume I am week. The casting director was really getting into my story and so was everyone else. Then the next 5 people went. Now the last two people were the preppy guy and his preppy friend who was a girl. All the guy said was that he likes to go out, party and thinks that this show will let him have fun. The girl said the same and even said that she doesn't want to go on the show to prove herself and that she thinks she is good tv. I was like *** why would you say that? Then the director said she would randomly call on someone and that person would ask someone a question about anything. She called on the preppy guy who chose to ask me a question. He basically asked me about my sexuality and experience with it in my life. I was excited because I felt I get to talk more, which I love to do. I started talking about it and the director even started asking me more questions which got me excited because I felt I was doing awsome. The she called on another person and they asked me another question so basically everyone was asking me questions about my life and what I went through. Also my group was in there for around 20-30min and i saw 5 other groups come in and leave before we ever did. I talked for like 20 min about my life and everyone just seemed to like my personality and loved my story. We then ended it by saying a word to describe ourselves. After each person said their word they were asked to leave. Also before that the director said if they want anyone to move on that they will call us in the evening between like 7-10pm. And they said that if we don't get a call that we shouldn't worry because it doesn't mean we are totally out (yea right). So though she was calling on people she didn't care for to say and word and leave so she can keep the ones she liked. Well then she called my name and I said my word and she told me thank you for trying out and told me good luck. I decided however to wait to see if anyone gets held back. Well it turns out the preppy guy and girl with no personality were held back. Now this is what angered me. I am not trying to be an angry fan who didn't get chosen but the fact that those 2 people basically said that they just like to party, would be good tv, and their applications has like 2-3 word answers and still got chosen to stay back ****** me off. Also all the obnoxious snobby *****es I saw got asked to stay back as well. What did I do wrong? My director was asking me so many questions and everyone wanted to hear more. I honestly am so confused at what went wrong. After the interview was over someone in my group came up to me and told me that as much as they want to be on the show, they thought I did awsome and felt that I would be a great addition for the show. This is a serious season so why would they care about these 2 people if they just party all the time? For the first time ever I got to see first hand on why this show is going down in flames. They cast the same type of people every time. Bunim/Murray always says they want people with stories and stuff. Screw that, they go by looks and look only. 9/10 times is looks and then you might have that decent looking person. I will admit that I do not feel I am ugly at all. I wouldn't call me a perfect 10 but definitely not ugly. I honestly think I am done with this show for good and will not be trying out again. Also I never got a call and I am pretty sure I was cut. This show will not last if they continue their antics like this. Anyone else have something like this happen to them? Will I be tuning in to this season? probably not Anyone agree with my or am I just being a whiny *****? =]
I agree with you. The one guy in my group who was gay and HIV+, his story was very moving. Like I was like wowwww. I was like he should get called back. And he didn't and I was like what?? I feel like they are looking for stereotypes even though they say they don't. I wish I knew what they were looking for. How random was Nick from Hollywood being there??
How random was Nick from Hollywood being there??
Well hes from NY and he was there during the fall casting for Back to New Orleans. Parisa was there last time to and she was really cool. Nick was very cocky last time and my friend who went with me said she saw him go into the VIP room and look around. She said maybe he was looking at people and telling the directors if he saw any potential people. How the **** can you know someone has potential just by looking at them? You can't just assume that if someone is good looking that they will get ratings. Do they not know that DC had some of the worst ratings ever. Also they asked what our favorite seasons were and I said Brooklyn and Las Vegas.
@RWRRFAN it's the ugly truth. If you think of it... on a scale of one to ten most reality stars are between 7.5 and a 10, with very few exceptions. Average just won't cut it. Believe it or not looks have a lot to do with being casted on a reality tv show. And plus it also depends on the casting director. Try going to another call. Your story does seem like it could/ can be interesting. Good luck try again. And no your not being a whinny ****.
well I would ran myself around a 7 or 8 to be honest. sometimes i can look like **** just like anyone else. But the 2 people who were kept back weren't all that. I'm sure now their egos will be so much bigger after this. I am tired of seeing all the guys being all muscular and stuff. I told the director that all gay guys are not muscular and they all don't have great complexions. I felt that my weight problem would stand out. People always underestimate me because of my weight. At my job when customers need help taking something big outside and my manager asks me to do it, the customers will actually ask me to get someone else because they assume I cannot lift and my sexuality stands out so you can tell I am gay just when i start talking lol. It hinders me a lot in life. Even with sports people feel that I am the weakest because of my weight but I am not. I am a former gymnast and I love physical contact sports. You don't have to be big in order to be good at sports.
Anyone agree with my or am I just being a whiny *****? =]
I understand how you feel. That was one of comments I was trying to say on my last post. I know I am done, I didn't even get a call back. My application didn't really have 2 or 3 words either. I had a very serious application. I agree with you, if they pick the same people and etc the show is not going to last.

I am glad Eric from season 24 will be another DC area person. With the last two seasons having such bad ratings, I wonder if they think the people from DC give them low ratings.
I was trying to see like the competition and stuff. Idk. Im gonna try again for sure. Like I look at the people that made in LAST seasons, and im like what made them special?? I guess its subjective. I have no clue. It will be interesting if someone gets casted from the NY casting call

So my cousin was supposed to hear back the first week of May about his tape but because they added more open calls do you think they will push back letting third round kids know? I really want him to get on so I can visit and meet one of the girls...I hope there's a ***y blonde! Also I get the fact that they should be picking people with a story to keep things "more real" or away from "*** and partying" but step back and look at the big picture...yeah, you might have gone and you might have had a great story but you're a 7 and there's 20,000 people trying out. Out of those 20,000 there's going to be 9's and 10's with just as good stories somewhere and the casting directors know that. They also know they can take the 9's and 10's and create a story out of the **** they disclose throughout that 200 page application...they have to end up writing something there that they can spin into a hardship or unique backstory. With that being said, I don't think a lot of the past Real Worlders have been 9's and 10's...I feel like a lot of have been 7's or 8's and I'm sorry for offending anyone because I feel like no one would like to admit it but that is what lost my interest. I tune into shows when I find people extremely attractive. The last season I watched in entirety was San Diego with Cameran on it because she was ***y, my cousin said the same. The girls all watch these challenges because "Kenny is ***y". People want hot people. MTV is better off casting a hot cast because they won't cease to look hot, however they cast a decent looking person with a interesting back story- that interesting back story may not end up playing out and then you just have a decent looking cast member who fades. (Example- most of the DC cast) The only reason to cast a 7 or 8 is if they have a DYNAMIC personality that makes them so entertaining, (Snookie, Coral, Evan, Katie) These people have such big personalities that people just want to watch. My point is MTV (for ratings purposes) needs to stick with an extremely hot cast or extremely BIG fun personalities...otherwise they're taking a major risk.... The demographic is getting younger and they might NEED to learn about the world and getting involved, but leave that for the history and Disney channel. This is MTV. They turn it on because it ****** their parents off and they want to watch 20 something party, have a good time and hook up. It's just life...that's what I wanted to see on the Real World in 8th grade, not a gay guy going to the White House... It'd be nice to have a little balance, have them do some non profit **** maybe do some charity work afterwards, Big Easy, Haiti...but as for the show- keep it fun, it's new generations of 2 second attention spans, computers, text messages. One press conference and you're turned off. The only chance would be a change of demographic (older viewers tuning in)- and that clearly didn't happen since DC's numbers were trash.
