Group of 10, 1 Stayed Back.
I followed along with a friend as a guest, my friend did not get asked to stay back but she still received a phone call about an hour ago to set up a webcam interview.
It was mentioned previously in this thread that a question asked to some who went to open castings pertained to body image.
I'm wondering if that means casting may be looking for potentials who do NOT fit the typical mold of a RW housemate and instead may be a little overweight or dealing with their own body image.
Thoughts on that?
I tagged along with a friend to the Buffalo casting, they called my friend later on to schedule an individual interview but the only person they kept back out of the 10 was a really overweight college student, none of the other people got asked to stick around.

Sooo A Callie Type Character?
I attended the casting call in Dallas, TX. It was a very interesting experience for me because I have never auditioned to be on a tv show before. My group was the 2nd to audition because we were there early and all had VIP passes. They were all awesome and I think we hit it off pretty well. We were all pretty much friends by the time we got called back. It was pretty much the same as they have been explained on here, except we weren't asked any questions about current events. We just introduced ourselves and the casting director asked us questions based on our applications. Only 2 girls got asked to stay back.

More or less, although I never viewed Callie as overweight personally. I'm not suggesting that they maybe want to cast a massively obese housemate, but you really have yet to see one who isn't 100% physically fit but is still that friend everyone loves (the "fat friend" persay? :P)
Thoughts?
So Snooki's (x) novio auditioned for Real World 25, hey maybe one of yall might get up and close with Snooks. :) Besides that it that would be pretty awesome to see a guido or guidette in the real world mansion. :D
Ummm well there's like 2 seasons left of the real world and I doubt that they will have a plus size woman or man (its rare I only see them in bridezillas) unless something about them sticks out. Right now I bet Real World is trying to cast its best cast yet.

I feel like doing something like this, bringing someone in with a little bit of a celebrity status (in comparison to the average person), might do some good for the real world 25.
It's already spread to Perez Hilton...if that's not real world publicity idk what is.

So...someone who dates a D-list celebrity has "celebrity status"?
I beat Michael Phelps in beer pong once...does that give me "celebrity status"?

you took it too literally. soo many people watch the jersey shore and know about "they guy that dates snookie." I just meant that maybe jersey shore fans would start watching the real world if they didn't already...just an idea..

I never saw her as fat either but She percieved herself like that alittle bit and she had wieght issues thats why I brought her up =). I feel that if they were Donnel wieght it wouldn't work unless they are really active casting a heavy castmemeber who is lazy or just insecure can make the show like Real World London.........Same with a disabled castmemebrs It causes limitations making them the invisible character but if there like Big Eazy then I think they would cast him/her.

I was definitely hoping someone would bring up Big E because that's exactly who I was referring to with my whole premise to begin with :)
I definitely think they could go places with a housemate such as him.

I went to an open casting call trying to come across as the "Big E funny fat guy" type, and I didn't get a call back...I mean I was funny and driven at the same time and I had my whole small discussion group cracking up but I guess I just didn't have what they wanted so :)
I had a VIP pass to go to the casting call in Dallas on Saturday. I went, and went right into the group interview. Out of 10, myself and one other was asked to stay. I filled out a loonnnggg application that took almost 3 hours to complete. I recieved a call late that night and was asked to come in for a second interview, this time was a one on one videotaped interview with the casting director.

What time did you audition?
ummm....It's tricky as to what time to get there. First impressions are good (early birds), but it seems that people who get there late usually get callbacks too. I went early last time and made it to second round (packet). Then i never went again and just sent a video (made it to semi's with that method). I'm nervous. I have a VIP pass for saturday, but I keep thinking I should've sent a video! ooo well we'll see how this one goes.
Good luck to those of you still waiting to go, and u luvlies that were interviewed!

I'm thinking about sending a video in since I didn't get picked to stay back at the casting call. Do you have any tips on what to do to make a good video besides being yourself?
I would not reccomend sending an e-mail message, I think showing up is the best form, or better chance at making it in to the show! I sent an e-mail, and I checked what I sent and I kinda messed up lol, so now i'm going in the cast call this Saturday in Chicago.
People want to watch one of two things...
1. Average people struggling that make them feel better about their lives. (16 & Pregnant, True Life)
2. Really attractive young kids going wild that they wish they could be, or be friends with. (Laguna Beach, The Hills)
The reason DC tanked is because it was average looking people - no one wanted to be or be with these people. TV is like a fantasy or escape to people watching it and DC was like watching your average looking neighbors daily bull****.
That is sooo true!!!
I got a VIP pass! What exactly does that mean? I have read a lot of the postings on here. What exactly do they look for in the first round of questions? Like what do they ask?
First round is always some random discussion on a topic. OMG last time it was on Sex in public. Sooo weird lol. Um yea just don't be shy, but DO NOT be over the top, some girl was trying way to hard to cause drama and wasn't called back. So don't be fake.
If you are making a video, I just sat in my kitchen and told a funny story while showing A LOT of cleavage. And of course, "be yourself" <3
For those who got asked to stay back in a RW25 open casting..
Where you the funny one in the group?
Best looking?
Serious one with a story?
Did you have a disability?
TIA

Thank you so much!!!!!! :) I am not the type to be really shy. But I am not the person who will start fights. I have no idea what I will do if someone tries to start a fight with me. Hahaha. I would never fight someone. I am nervous about the audition. As weird as that is!! Ha.
I went a week ago, had a lot of fun with it. They didn't ask me to stay back but they kept my cousin. I had to wait for a million years while he filled that stupid packet out and then they literally called him as we were on our way home to come back the next day for a taped interview. Then they asked him to send in a tape that I now have to help him make!
The best part is I talked him into going because I needed a ride.
