I figure I'll post my experience in case its helpful to anyone :)
My group was the first to go for the day and they asked us the misconception question, the passionate question, and the one word about yourself question. My group was kind of boring; we all took turns and let each other go. Everyone was all like deep with their answers like "I'm passionate about gay rights" etc etc and I was just like "I'm passionate about chilling out" and I really didn't say anything over the top. They also collected our packets and pictures if we had them and while everyone was talking they were like rearranging them and then as we all said our last one word to describe ourselves she told everyone to go but the last three (me, this girl and a cute gay guy) she held back. But after I filled out the big packet the kid back there said we would get a call for an on camera (I assume) interview the next day (Sunday) but I never got called so I don't really know what the deal is now.
They were holding back about 3 or 4 people from each group to fill out the thick packet. There was this really loud obnoxious girl who was getting ****ed up while filling out her packet with her friend so I'm interested to see if she makes it on the show :) They did ask if you had a passport and I don't so maybe thats why they didnt call or maybe I didn't look good on paper who knows.
They asked questions like how is your relationship with your parents, would your parents be suprised to find out things about you from the show, what are your fears, please comment on these activities: (there was a list of random stuff like reading I forget what else), they said to list 2 friends and 2 adults that they could call.
Meh I don't know, the entire casting call was kind of random. They were holding back a bunch of different type of people not necessarily good looking so I don't know what they were looking for.
ohhhhh "do you have a passport" could just be a standard question... but hoping this season is out of the U.S. that or in Atlanta
How long does it take to get a passport though and when do they start filming?
How long does it take to get a passport though and when do they start filming?
It depends. I heard they can take anywhere from 2-12 weeks. They'll probably start filming sometime between july and september...??
random questions: how much time in advance did you arrive for the casting call?
What time do people usually get there? Oh and I have friends that wanna go and support me, are they allowed to wait in line with me until I go in?
Yeah. The casting started at 10 and I had to drive like 30 mins but when I got there at 9.30ish there were like 20 people if that waiting outside. I was expecting a huge line but I got to go in really fast. A lot of people were there with their friends and if you get picked to go to the second part they let you tell your friends that you have to stay. They also say to be hush hush about it though and not to let other people waiting know that you got picked.
By the time I left (3 annoying hours later after I finished the packet) the line was a little longer. The VIP lines seemed longer than the other lines. But I'm sure your friend will find something to amuse themselves with if you go to the second round. They can just get drunk or something.
I think it'd be good to get there as early as possible because I think being in the first group with a bunch of people still waking up gave me an advantage to be moved on to the next part.

Sounds great!! Thanks SOO much and good luck to you :)
Ok so I have a question, and couldn't find an answer anywhere else. I got the email telling me I got the VIP pass, and I responded with my name and city. My question is: should I have gotten a like confirmation message from them saying that they put me on the list, or do I just get put on?
Also, in the email, it didn't say that I had to bring a picture or anything, but on the general casting site it said to. Do I need to bring one?

I don't think they'll take the time to send you a message back. Just take it to the casting call and you should be set if you sent them your confirmation.
Some people say that they didn't take pictures. Some did. It's always best to bring it and be prepared rather than not be prepared at all.

They don't respond to you but you'll be on their list. And they take a picture of you if you move on to the next part but you might as well bring one you like in case they one they take turns out bad.
People want to watch one of two things...
1. Average people struggling that make them feel better about their lives. (16 & Pregnant, True Life)
2. Really attractive young kids going wild that they wish they could be, or be friends with. (Laguna Beach, The Hills)
The reason DC tanked is because it was average looking people - no one wanted to be or be with these people. TV is like a fantasy or escape to people watching it and DC was like watching your average looking neighbors daily bull****.
The reason DC tanked is because it was average looking people-
DC was NOT average looking people, the only one who you can say that about is Andrew, and even then he was just a little goofy looking but still was tall and buff. I think the reason DC tanked is because they expect people to just watch it, there is hardly any promotion at all, and they assume all the younger MTV viewers just know what Real World is. Even if they don't change the format, they need to still market it, which they don't do so much.
I remember when Survivor's ratings started to drop, they did a season where all they got was a machete, no food or anything. They marketed the hell out of it, said how it was completely different (even though it wasn't THAT different), and made it seem like a whole new viewing experience. Ratings crept back up that season.
Anywho, just my two cents.
They should have the 8th member be someone everyone already knows... like an old fresh meat- that'd be different.
Honestly, I think that's a terrible idea haha. It'd just be weird, and some people probably wouldn't even know who they are.
I think it would be interesting to do a half cancun style cast, party animals, model good looks, etc, and half DC type cast, smarter, more in tune to the goings on of the world, less self absorbed.
I heard BMP sold there company to a french company call banijay Entertainment is that true
Do you read any of the posts? Someone already posted that. Please read all previous posts before you ask questions because you tend to ask A LOT of questions that have already been answered. ;)

This is actually a really good idea in my opinion.
It would definitely cause for some major conflict.
"You're not going anywhere with your life."
I can see it now.
How long will it take them to contact you after you fill out the long packet for round 2? It's been around a week and I'm wondering if I should send in a tape, or just wait it out?
A lot of you new guys are asking questions that have ALREADY BEEN ANSWERED multiple times. Please read through the previous posts (yes, I know it's long) before posting.
I have a feeling this season is going to be a big one. They will probably cast a group of people who contradict each other. Come on it's season 25! Plus it may be the next to last season EVER!
I sent in a email about 5 months ago with a brief message about myself and 5 pictures. I received an VIP pass yesterday for it for this weekend. They do check the emails.
Yes, I have read the previous posts but it's different everytime it seems for when they get back to you. (Sometimes they have you come back the next day and do an interview and sometimes they call 2 weeks later) I was just wondering if anyone knows how it is for THIS season they are casting?

Exactly...it's different for everyone. And this is the Real World season 25 casting, so it is for THIS season.
Hey luvs!
So it seems to me like a lot less people are auditioning for RW which means that unfortunately the show has lost a lot of steam. A friend of mine auditioned and she said it was like dead. She didn't make it past the first interview though :(
I'm still wondering if i'm going to go, I got a VIP pass but it seems like they're giving anyone who emails them a pass (I never emailed, i just made it to semi's last year). Anyways, since this is a serious season I prob won't make the cut since I made it far last season.
Good luck all, let's get a Vevmo user on there!
