Real World 25 - Casting

My casting call ran very similar to Zilly's. Needless to say I didn't get called back, I'm guessing because I wasn't fit for the seriousness of this year's season. There is always next season, which will hopefully be less serious. I'll be sending in a tape next time around. I feel that casting calls don't do anyone justice. Five brief questions don't let anyone's true colors shine.
Yea the brief questions that are supposed to allow them to "see if you're fit for the show" are a little ridiculous. Seems like they'd miss out on so many quality people. You mentioned that maybe you weren't serious enough, and based off of Zilly's experience, it doesn't seem like the casting call asked questions that were even relevant enough to know whether someone was "good" enough to be on a serious season. What types of questions did they ask your group?
My groups questions were "What is the biggest misconception about you, What are you passionate about, What are your beliefs, and what word best describes you."
My questions were: What is something you do that no one would expect. Where do you see yourself in five years. Have you ever had a roommate(s). (I was the only one who didn't.) Who was a good roommate/bad roommate. Thoughts on past season roommates. If this season is rumored to be serious, how do these questions, besides the first one set us apart from the rest? I'm not being a sore sport or anything, but I learned that an audition tape is probably the more accurate attempt to get your true self recognized. Also, we had to fill our paper application outside. So, writing on windows didn't make for the best penmanship. Question: Is it too late to send in an audition tape? I wouldn't think so, plus our casting director said if we felt we weren't ourselves we could send one in.. I'm up for sending one in.
Where do you see yourself in five years.
Uhhhh, doing bar tours?
Uhhhh, doing bar tours?
Just too funny!
I took a nap and had a dream that I went to a casting call. I was running late and parked my car on the side of the street and it got towed lmao... Then when I got into the casting call, everyone was talking over one another just as some of you mentioned. How are casting producers supposed to weed out who they want if everyone's talking over one another? That'd be major annoying. I'd probably be like "Look here people. Everyone shut up and take turns." lol

Hey guys, I just sent in an email submission yesterday. Anyone know when I'll hear back if they are interested? Just wondering how long I should wait. Also, should I send in a 5 minute tape as well?
Hey Socal, casting calls have already started so it depends on if they've been to your city yet/are accepting them from your city still. And actually, those questions have been covered many times throughout this thread, you should check out previous pages...
Our group had maybe one quiet person. We all got along too well I believe. Through off the chemistry more than likely. I was hoping for some debate, but we all had similar views. :/
hmm interesting. Then again, I thought the questions your group were asked were irrelevant to some extent.. It's good you're doing a video. so did they ask people to stay after or let everyone leave?
Everyone to leave. We went around the table and said one word to describe ourselves, then left. No one was asked to stay back. EDIT: Yes, they were irrelevant. But, the topic of "one random fact about yourself" brought about the antics of the three gay guys in the group. So there was a brief discussion of that that tied in with the "open minded" roommate the majority would enjoy to have.
KNOWN FACT if after your group of 10 interview if they don't ask you to say back then chances are your shot is over, and there is no need to wait till 9 for them to call you back! cause my friend was asked to stay back and I wasn't and they did more interviews with her and wanted more about her story....
False. If you look at past pages, CannotTellU says that it all varies depending on location, size, and traffic. (I believe) Not one person stayed back while I was there, so yeah. I don't think they threw all of those applications out the window.

Now why if they liked someone in the group why would they not ask them to stay? It is a true statement, and I'm sorry if you don't believe it!!
Any news on location yet? I know it hasn't been mentioned (and therefore is very unlikely), but I think Real World: Dublin would be AMAZING. They are both a great city for fun and also experiencing very current economic issues (their economy is tanking, great international news appeal). Just my two cents BMP ;)
Anyone in Texas or Dallas wants to audition for Real World!!!!! (I think im the only one who's in Dallas from here). Well they're gonna be here this Saturday!!! Okay not a 100% true but 95% of the time :)
PS. I will go ahead and confirm that they are not going Back to San Fran for RW25. Don't ask me how I know ;-) Just figured I'd go ahead and put that out there since it had been mentioned several times in numerous threads.
The forms you fill out at Open Casting calls ask these questions: 1. Name 2. Birthday 3. How is your relationship with your parents? Describe it. 4. Are you currently in a relationship? What’s the status of the relationship? What are you most attracted to? 5. What are some issues that are most important to you currently? Would you pursue anything involving these interests while on the show? 6. Have you ever professionally acted or performed on a stage?
Are these definite questions on all the forms you fill out before round one, or just in certain locations?
Are these definite questions on all the forms you fill out before round one, or just in certain locations?
Those are questions that are on every form at the open casting calls. There are probably a few other questions too...but those are the ones I could remember off the top of my head.
Along with those questions mentioned, I remember "What is your most embarrassing memory? What career are you working towards and would you work towards it on the show? What would your friends say are your worst traits? What would your friends say are your best traits? Have you ever been arrested for alcohol or violence?" And I think there may have been one or two others.

Oh and in my group discussion, I had one question that was different from you. They didn't ask us about our opinions on cheating. They asked us about our beliefs and spirituality.
GREAT information! Thanks :D
Anyways, I'm sure BMP absolutely LOVES when I post their private information on here...but it honestly doesn't matter at this point as I'm sure this show isn't going to make it much longer.
Not to be a debbie downer, but I agree. That is, if the ratings are constant from season 23 through 26. It wouldn't make sense to renew the series. Hopefully, they come up with an even better idea.
I said this in another thread, but I think they just need to reimagine it a bit... put them in a real house (not a mansion, a 4 bedroom suburban style house or apartment), that isn't too nice, make them pay bills (look for jobs on their own), make them NOT model good looking, etc, it would fit MUCH better with teen mom, true life, other shows that seem to do well
