Mr. B, we already love you in Boston.
I have an opinion on every play, ball, strike, hit, foul, etc. Zeus thinks I have it out for him as he is giving me funny looks. I think he thinks, "That was F****** outside" equates to - "I know you ate that plant today." And he is showing said guilt... I really liked that baby tomato cherry plant and had high hopes for it. :(
And it is TIED.
And it is again a two run game... So much for "defense" in a Yankee/Red Sox outing, lol.
To put a lighter part on this situation, watch this classic clip Bacchus ;) : Denis Leary Tells Mel Gibson To Shove It - Boston Red Sox - Deadspin
Ellsbury is getting in the hole fast tonight. As the lead-off hitter, he needs to have more plate discipline. I like Drew better at lead-off, to be honest, with Jacoby batting with less pressure in the back end.
It is gone. Game is tied. Tried to beat him with an inside fastball. Mistake.

Thank u Mr Pedrioia. :)
That was quite the pop up
Thank u Mr Pedrioia. :)
And Youk got me another double. It is good to have the right Red Sox players on your fantasy team. Youk and Pedroia especially. ;) p.s. That was a homerun swing. It was close, but no cigar. The wall giveth far left, and taketh toward center.
Wild pitch. He scores! SCOOOOOOOOOOREEEESSSS!

Pedroria is having a good night.
Bard = 100+ MPH. I love watching this kid. He is the future. Still a green horn, but we have Sweet Caroline live coming up, no matter what happens, lol.
Wow...a guy like Cameron (speed) kills Joba. He can't focus on the task at hand and gets consumed in the stretch.
Jacoby had a rough night.
And Pedroia gets more done for the Sox!
Anyone else think that Joba needs to curve his "bill" a bit. That cap does not look cool on his head. I'm not even saying that just because it is a Yankees cap. That boy needs cap curving skills...
And it comes down to the closer... YouTube - Jonathan Papelbon Boston Red Sox Intro Dropkick Murphys Fenway Park 2009
In the books. Always good to win your opening day game. It doesn't mean a lot, but it is always better to win than lose, especially when playing the Yankees.
Glad the Sox won today!! I missed the game thanks to a stinkin' earthquake that hit and kind of threw off the timing of the days activities. Note to self: try not to be in an amusement park when the next earthquake hits...
We'll gladly take any win over a division rival however we can get it. We might have a 3/4 horse race this year. Youk and "Petey" (heh) are the reason I love the Sox. When someone like Papi or Jacoby is having a bad day, they are always there to pick up the slack. I'm not really seeing the "speed, defense and pitching" part of our strategy in execution, but NY is a great team so it can only get better as the season goes on. Maybe Beckett can relax now and get that contract extension done. ---------------------------------------------------- My brother was in Fenway last night for the game (and great weather!). I so hate him :aggressive:
Boston Red Sox set to announce extension for Josh Beckett
Even though he had a rough opening day, once he finds his curve he'll be back on ace duty. Glad to see we locked him up. That means the Sox have Beckett, Lester, Lackey and Buchholz signed through 2014 - or 4 out of their 5 starters (Dice-K is signed through 2012.)
Crazy game last night. Sox fell behind early but didn't give up. Beckett shaky but the offense was able to bail him out. I don't know why people are trying to say the Sox won't score a lot of runs this year...they have SEVERAL solid hitters on that team, and I don't think they are going to miss Jason Bay that much. It was nice to see Scutaro, Beltre, and Cameron all contributing in their debuts. Burnett vs. Lester tomorrow night. Glad I have another distraction for 161 more games now.
My Yanks :(
I thought I would just add that the Phillies score is 11-1 :D
I thought I would just add that the Phillies score is 11-1
There is no question they are the best team in the [strike]junior varsity[/strike] National league. :wink2:
I drafted Jason Heyward. Waived him to grab a pitcher. Saw his first MLB at bat (three run BOMB.) Grabbed Jason Heyward 25 seconds later. ****, this kid is going to be special.
I thought I would just add that the Phillies score is 11-1 :D
The Phillies are good but that was against a team with 100/1 odds to make the World Series... ;)
Yikes, the Braves are opening up on the Cubbies!
the phillies are good but that was against a team with 100/1 odds to make the world series... ;)
shhhh!!!
