I won't be watching the show, but I will be watching the ratings so that I can spend my Saturday afternoon sadistically mocking the Whedonites on TVBYTHENUMBERS. :D
Worst case scenario, I could not have [strike]dreamed for[/strike] guessed these numbers. Stick a fork in it.

Stick a fork in it.
It's totally toast, you're right. It's a shame. However, I will say that I wasn't crazy about the premiere, and that maybe it deserved to be bailed on. Part of me wishes that Amy Acker had portrayed Echo. Everything is really just water under the bridge though because there's 0 chance this show isn't going to get canceled.
lol, i cant believe dollhouse is being outperformed by a ********** show called smallville. I have a question, how do the analysts take online viewing into account. For example: If you were to go to Hulu, Dollhouse consistently rates as a pretty popular show.
For example: If you were to go to Hulu, Dollhouse consistently rates as a pretty popular show.
Advertisers don't pay much for online viewing, so it won't save the show. This week it set a new series low at 2.1 million. I am thinking next week the "Top Model" repeat on The CW might just beat it... My guess is this Friday will be the last Dollhouse to air on network television, so enjoy it! :D
My guess is this Friday will be the last Dollhouse to air on network television, so enjoy it! :D
See, I was thinking they would at least burn through the 13 or so episodes they have already ordered, but then again, I'm not positive if production on those 13 has been completed or not. Probably not. It's so sadddd. This is a good story and is extremely accurate - 'Dollhouse': Where did it go wrong? | EW.com

(Actually the talk is that they will run Glee repeats in that slot to fortify its audience + it will probably do double the ratings.) Good article on EW. The first comment was right on the money. The show started too slow and most of us that tuned in to see what Dollhouse was all about fell asleep before it "allegedly" got good.
I didn't know that they don't take online viewing into account. That seems weird to me...

It DID get good! That said - if the show gets can canceled, it's totally warranted, in my opinion. I can't even pretend to lie about that.
'Dollhouse' shows enormous DVR gain Eliza Dusku, lighting technician Premiere week DVR data is here and the results show that Fox's "Dollhouse" gained a higher percentage of additional viewers than nearly any other show. The "Dollhouse" premiere jumped a stunning 50% when seven-day viewing is added. Granted, the "Dollhouse" base was very low -- the show went from a 1.0 rating to a 1.5. Many other shows obviously gained far more than a half a point. But executives look at how much a show gained compared to its initial live-plus-same-day number, and to boost your rating by 50% is huge.
Great news RSV! Now it is only doing about half as well as a Cops would repeat in the same time slot, lol. And you know how advertisers love DVR viewers being they all skip the commercials...

Gotta take the little victories and celebrate while we can =)
HAHAHA It's an uphill battle, and one I'm willing to fight! Gotta take the little victories and celebrate while we can =)
The good news is Fox says they will run all 13 episodes, the bad news is they hinted it would not be on Friday night's during November sweeps. My best guess is they might start bundling the episodes into mini marathons on Saturdays to burn them off if ratings continue at the current levels.
Next week's episode is Sierra-centric (which is awesome cuz Dichen is AMAZING....arguably better than Eliza). We find out why/hot Sierra became a doll. Preview looked siiiick. i give Fox props for giving Dollhouse a second go, so as I said before....if they cancel it, it's totally warranted (unlike Firefly's demise!).
Not a good sign: Dollhouse benched for sweeps.

Yup, no shocker here. At least you will be able to watch the remaining episodes. 12/4 2 episodes from 8p-10p 12/11 2 episodes from 8p-10p 12/18 2 episodes from 8p-10p 1/8 1 ep @9pm 1/15 1 ep @9pm 1/22 1 ep @9pm (series finale)

Fox at least gave the show a shot, even regardless of the Friday night time slot. And I'll watch every episode they play until then.
I agree that Fox aired but the promotion by Fox was lackluster at best. Eliza did most of the promoting as a producer. Part of the problem was Eliza. I think she is an amazing person and a real knockout. But her supporting cast & stories involving them were light years ahead of her in talent, depth, and plot. Dichen, Enver, Tahmoh, Harry, Amy and Fran are tremendously more talented than Eliza. I'm hoping, not that it will happen, that Dollhouse will get the opportunity to jump to a cable network like FX or TNT or HBO (which would be awesome for Joss!) There are so many things that this show can do and has the talent to do. The unfortunate thing is that Fox had to meddle in the first 5 episodes causing many people to forget ever looking at it again. The pop singer & blind girl episodes were deplorable. I would advise picking up starting with episode 6 "Man On The Street". The depth & complexity will amaze you compared to the first 5.
This show was DOA. I watched the first handful and even the most amazing episode ever would not make this a show I'd care about. When die hard fans talk about episode 6, it makes me laugh. Ok, that episode was MUCH better than the first five. Sadly, it also sucked in comparison to the Ghost Whisperer (which I don't watch, but I have to assume is better TV.) Like Joss all you want. This was a dud. I'm glad Fox is finally taking the shovel and throwing some dirt on it...
Well, not every great show survives the ratings. Have you ever heard of Profit?
I doubt anyone around here watches it anymore but the end is near. Makes me even more sad seeing the recent run of excellent episodes, which very well blow Season 1 out of the stratosphere, but I can't complain seeing as how the show getting to two seasons was a blessing anyway. The show is dead but I'm going to enjoy seeing its zombified corpse run around for two more weeks! I just uhh...hope there's someone with me. :ninja_hide:
I'm here and I ain't leaving. Talk about coming out not out of left field but from outside the park on the reveal. Holy ****!! I did not expect that part of it. Gotta say that Joss was not lying when he made the statement: "Since we know we are ending, we are going to pull out all of the stops." They are certainly on their way.
Is no one else enjoying the last episodes? ... I'm loving the twists that Joss has done, especially since he is pulling out all the stops.
Talk about going out with a BANG! Holy. ****. Dudes. Dollhouse isn't the best show, nor the best Whedon show...but it mostly kicked ***! Sad to see it go and I'll definitely be buying Season 2 dvds.
yeah, I'm looking forward to the box set.
I haven't been keeping up with all the news. So this is it then? Now these episodes are making sense! LOL I kept thinking to myself where the heck can they go from here?? This year was definitely better than last year, and the last few episodes were awesome, I just don't like that they made him (drawing a blank...Echo's handler) the founder. Amy Eckart always kicks butt as evil so it was good to see that.

Watching Victor with Topher's imprint was AMAZING!
Acker..Eckhart...meh same thing. LOL oops I'm having a Monday leave me alone! Oh I loved Victor as Topher! I knew who he was right away.
