Dollhouse
It's frustrating when all of Whedon's shows are lumped into one....but I think Dollhouse can and will stand on its own feet, miles away from the Buffyverse (Dushku and Acker excluded) Check out this blog....EW reports fans are ALREADY trying to "save the show". or at least market it virally! It's not too early to save Joss Whedon's 'Dollhouse' | PopWatch Blog | EW.com It's a shame that it's being pushed to January...but i'm STILL excited about it! Joss Whedon. Back on TV. Wow.
I wish Dollhouse was starting this fallllllll. I can't WAIT to see it. Hopefully it'll land an EW cover when it gets closer to January.

Just read this today on Perez:
Joss Whedon Shuts Down Dollhouse Sorry Eliza Dushku and Joss Whedon fans! Looks like you might have to wait a bit longer to see their latest collaboration, Dollhouse, on Fox. Refresher, Dollhouse stars Eliza Dushku as a secret agent of sorts. The agency she works for imprints memories and personalities into its agents, who are then hired out. Though most agents are blissfully unaware of their situation, Eliza's character comes to realize she's a secret agent. The show's totally a hybrid of Alias and Bourne Identity! Anyway, Whedon, the genius behind Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel, doesn't think the current Dollhouse scripts are good enough, so he's shut down production for now, so he can do some re-writes. Production is due to start up again in late September, as long as Joss is happy with the scripts! The good news is that the drama is a midseason entry. If Dollhouse picks up production again at the end of the month, they'll still be ahead of schedule.
I don't know why when I made that into a "quote" post, it changed the format all crazy.....??
noooooooooooooooooo i didnt know thisssssss TERRIBLE NEWWWWS however, Joss isn't a sellout. he won't put something out until hes TOTALLY happy, and i respect him for that
More Dollhouse talk...
Don't cry for Dollhouse, Whedonistas. Despite the production shutdown first reported by Korbi (or as we like to call her, the prodigal sister-wife), I'm hearing things aren't as doom and gloom in Joss Whedon's world as some are suspecting. "They just need a little time to make sure they're on the right track," said one inside source who works on the series. "Joss takes this show very seriously." While shutdowns can signal serious trouble, they also happen much more frequently than you might realize—and to some of the biggest shows. As previously reported, 24 is also closed for the moment as Howard Gordon reasseses the storyline, and ABC insiders tell me that even Alias and Desperate Housewives have paused production in the past—we just didn't hear about it—as well as, more recently, Dirty Sexy Money. I heard about 24 doing the same, but they're waaaay ahead of schedule since they aired NOTHING last year haha But this is good...at least it doesn't sound catastrophic.
Any word on a time slot for this show yet?? I hope Fox doesn't ***k with it and put it on at 9pm on a Friday. ********. I still don't trust that they'll do Whedon good. It would be SO AMAZINGGG if we had a Fringe/Dollhouse night. A guy can hope, right?
Airing Mondays at 8pm, before 24. Here's the new trailer.

I'd have to say it looks pretty interesting too.
Yes, yes...come to the dark side!
Yes, yes...come to the dark side!
With great power comes great responsibility. You might have brought us over to the dark side, but if this show sucks I am personally blaming you! ;)
With great power comes great responsibility. You might have brought us over to the dark side, but if this show sucks I am personally blaming you! ;)
With my undying love and respect for Joss Whedon...I will accept this responsibility and face any frustrations and/or grievances that you may have IF Dollhouse lacks in quality. Whedon never fails me. I have faith!
FRIDAYS AT 9pm =(((((((((((((((( How could fox DO THIS to Joss! Those corporate ********!!!! Giving it the same timeslot of death that they gave Firefly. Why don't they just cancel DH right now before i LOVE it and they have to destroy my LIFEEEEE Huge whiney blog posting to follow....
You know I totally forgot about this show. hmm, not a good thing. You'd think Fox would be advertising this kind of stuff. RSV I know you hate the move to Fridays, but really it works so much better for me. (I doubt you'll find any consolation in that) Mondays are insane for me. Maybe it will be a good thing. Rating expectations are so much lower for Friday nights. Keep your fingers crossed. At one time I boycotted Fox. Year after year they canned great shows. Thank God for The WB for saving BTVS. So many shows...remember that Sci-Fi show with DB Sweeney and I forget the other guy (not to mention the name of the show) I loved it....Fox canned it after airing 3 eps. I just stopped watching the network all together. Then Prison Break came out. Now I'm slowly coming back. Anyway, back on topic...I'm looking forward to Dollhouse.
I'm totally freaking on like 5 different websites right now haha I'm going to promote my little fan-heart out and get EVERYONE I KNOW to watch this show. So yes! A good 25-50 extra people, 0 of which are Nielsen homes! Cuz I'm that cool! =)
I'm a Neilsen home! I'll watch :D
YES! SCORE! I'll send you occasional reminders now through Feb 13th, when it starts haha I always wanted to be a Neilsen home! Then I wouldve felt better about attempting to save Veronica Mars, The Nine, and Firefly
RSV I know you hate the move to Fridays, but really it works so much better for me.
I just noticed this was on Friday's at 9 (I know I am supposed to be reading upthread!) This show is totally DOA! It will be lucky to have a full run of the episodes already in the tank. You don't put a new show in the death timeslot on network hospice day, unless it: 1. Sucks. 2. Costs too much. 3. ??? 4. Sucks! They should have waited for summer and burned it off then (like CBS did with Swingtown.) At least then it could have had a respectable place on the schedule.
And they are putting Terminator in front of it!
Even worse, instead of doing the show as Joss wanted it (epic, with a clear and escalating 13 episode arc) the network made him re-write it to wrap up neatly each week so people could jump in at any time and not have to worry about those annoying "details" he is famous for. In other words, they denuded him. Instead of hardcore Sci-Fi fans being the target audience it is now written for 30 second Susie, the Alzheimer patient at the Rose Garden Nursing Home, with nothing better to do on a Friday night. At least now she will be able to follow along and even doze off now and again without getting lost. I give it [strike]8[/strike] [strike]7[/strike] 6 weeks...
I can't understand why Joss continues to do business with FOX. How many times does one have to be burned before they give up? There's been a big buzz within the Joss fandom so I hope it's enough to sustain the show. It's been too long without a show and I'm jonesing for some Whedonism.

There's been a big buzz within the Joss fandom so I hope it's enough to sustain the show.
It is too bad a down and out network like NBC didn't ink a deal with Joss for this show. They could have at least given it a time slot when there are actual viewers to be found. Don't get me wrong, I plan to watch - but feel that right out of the box the story has been compromised with the rewrites and the broadcast slot is as bad as it can get. The lead in is Terminator, which is dying fast and will probably lose a million plus viewers moving to Fridays. That would put it in the low 4 million viewer range (it attracted 5.3 million viewers on Monday.) TSCC is not long for this world. For Dollhouse to get picked up for a second 13 episode run I would expect (because of the big budget) it would have to be in the 8+ million range to even be considered a modest success. That means it will have to double TSCC viewership week in and week out. There are few, if any shows that grow 100% out of the show preceeding them in prime time (unless you are talking about the results shows for Idol or DWTS.) Things are not looking good. I don't even want to start with how the Sci-Fi channel killed Battlestar Galactica because they insisted that Ronald D. Moore create "tight" scripts with a weekly beginning, middle and end so that they could bring in new viewers. It just makes me mad and I don't want to be mad...

Everything you guys are saying makes sense. It's like they're not even giving the show a fair shot to begin with...
Ugh....don't even get me started! I've already begun the heartbreak process =/ I will watch it with my undying, unrelentless Whedon-loyalty on my sleeve. Dollhouse: You Gotta Have Faith. get it? Faith? Pun? har har?
