Hey there all. In the current issue of Metro Weekly magazine (out today), Will O'Bryan writes a huge feature about "Here in the Real World". It's the cover story... Wow Wiggy you're becoming a local celeb! I have appreciated you giving us info on the season and hope it continues:)
Ok, when are the autographed copies being sold and for how much? :wink2:
So Cancun season didn't get a cast trip like usual? Or was the trip to Vegas supposed to be it? Anyone know if the DC cast is going anywhere? They should go to China!
I would consider Cancun vacation enough. I don't think Brooklyn got a trip either. They went everywhere on their own.
Brooklyn didn't have an official vacation and neither did Cancun but then again they said that group jobs were finished and this season they all worked at the same job. So who knows what direction they'll go in.
Hope this isnt too inappropriate for here. I am heading to DC for business next wed and thur (9/23 &24). Any ideas about where the cast might be? or any recs about good places to hang out...where they might be? I'd welcome pvt messages...would also welcome a pow wow at halo or cobalt with local bloggers to meet you guys/gals...anyone interested?
what is DM?
Direct Message Edit: Oops, OPD beat me to it.
PRODUCTION COMING TO AN END It's true. It seems like it was just yesterday that DC got its newest 8 strangers, picked to live in that mansion and be taped everywhere. But, all good things come to an end - expect the cast to move back home in about 2 weeks. I miss the dog-and-pony show already!
THE JUICY DETAILS - As DC says goodbye to BMP and the cast of MTV's 23rd season of The Real World I'll do a full writeup, but here are some of the details to look forward to. Wow, can't wait Wiggles. You rock, as usual...;). PS. Its crazy how fast these seasons are coming and going, it just seems like not to long ago, The Brooklyn guys were putting rats in peoples beds.
It's going to be so sad to not have this craziness in my town anymore, and not having cameras around every time I go to the Chevy Chase on DuPont, or when I want to go to Cosi...or if I'd like to stop into the Scientology church for an open house (I kid, I kid).

Can't throw a stick there without being in somebody's shot--usually CSPAN's if nobody else's (and it isn't as if DuPont Circle proper isn't crazy enough all on its own). If it is the drunks you miss you can run down to M Street.
Oh, I know, but the CSPAN cameras don't exactly bring the same craziness as the Real World ones do. I live in College Park most of the time so I'm usually amongst the drunks here :)
BREAKING: As predicted at the onset of this, RWDC at White House today for return of Pres. Obama on the South Lawn where Marine One landed.
When is it coming to MTV?
Someone throws another person off of a valcony? WOW
Someone throws another person off of a valcony? WOW
That sounds crazy. I wonder if that person got sent home.
That sounds crazy. I wonder if that person got sent home.
Well, let's just say that an emergency meeting was held, alcohol use was discussed and a resolution was worked on.
Well, I finally made it to DC and of course had to go by the "house" that I have seen so much online on Thursday night, October 1. I was amazed to find that I had been there a year ago. Not in the house, of course, but in the neighborhood on my way from the hotel I stayed at to the Washington Athletic Club, where the cast reportedly now works out. Little did I realize that the house on 2000 S St. NW sits almost directly across the street from the restaurant where I had one of the best plates of chicken pad Thai I'd ever had. I think the place is called Thaiphoon. So, what did I do? I went and got me some take out and planted my pad-Thai-eatin a** across the street and just watched. I wasn't drunk, loud, obnoxious, or overtly nosy. Just curious. Unfortunately, I did not see any cast members, nor did I see any local celebrities (of blogger fame). [ Honestly, I was a bit more interested in seeing or meeting the latter, as you all have done such a great job keeping us informed.] This was probably because it was relatively early in the night (7 PM or so). I did see the security surrounding the house and of course I noticed the way all the passers by looked at the house somewhat knowingly. It was interesting to see how lit up the house was both inside and out, obviously for filming purposes. Some nice looking guy asked if I was enjoying my pad Thai...I almost got him to stop and order some for himself...but he seemed to be in a rush. A few minutes later, I realized that he was likely someone who worked for the production or security companies since he had what I think is a telltale badge around his neck. If only I had offered to buy him some pad thai. Maybe I could have gotten some kind of an inside scoop. So, if I had any advice for those of you who are in DC, it is this: Go to Thaiphoon and get some pad Thai! Question: I wonder if anyone knows what the cast did that night or if there were any shenanigans? I went off and had my own fun at Cobalt (where else considering my sn) and did not bother looking to twitter to see what the cast was up to. I didn't see any cameras at Cobalt, so I think it is safe to say they were not there. Lastly, thanks to all of you for sharing what you have come to know about this cool cultural phenomenon called the Real World that has (variously) been such a part of so many of our lives over the years. It was really cool to see in real life what we will all see in a few months on MTV. How much more cool must it be for those of you who have had some contact with the cast.
