I think Heidi and Spencer do everything for ratings. I am surprised the MTV is sending Kristen out to do promotion because she keeps talikng about the show being fake.

I find it hilarious that someone signed up to Vevmo and decided to start a thread like this. Btw who is your brother's friend? is he credible? lol

The Real World can't be fake...I mean it's a TRUE story of eight strangers pick... lol...Look every reality tv show is fake now a days is fake...We all just watch it for the good drama
You're correct in that it's not Big Brother. The cameras are not always around. The cast go and do things on their own without being accompanied and they DO speak to producers and camera folks...they don't just ignore them for the duration of production. But scripts: no.
that's completely false.
that's completely false.
False for Cancun's season, but it is a fact for RW: DC. Many people have stated that the cast and crew talk to each other all the time.

Maybe the crew filmed cancun 24/7 so they they could keep an eye on the cast. Cancun can get very tense at times.
False for Cancun's season, but it is a fact for RW: DC. Many people have stated that the cast and crew talk to each other all the time.
And the cast has been spotted several times with no cameras present.
Katelynn always snuck away to hit up the internet cafe and visit us. ;)
that's completely false.
It may have been false for you, but clearly things are waaaaaaay different here in DC. Waaaay different. How often were you having drinks with Jim J. at a bar Em??
Is it true that Katelynn has been banned from challenges for what she posted on here about the Cancun season?
Is it true that Katelynn has been banned from challenges for what she posted on here about the Cancun season?
No. Where on earth did you hear that?
I thought I remembered someone saying that BMP got really mad and wouldn't call her for challenges. Maybe I just made that up in my head.
It may have been false for you, but clearly things are waaaaaaay different here in DC. Waaaay different. How often were you having drinks with Jim J. at a bar Em??
never we'd get yelled at via batphone if we talked to any camera men.
never we'd get yelled at via batphone if we talked to any camera men.
Maybe the DC house's bat phone is busted.... The cast/producer/crew/EP wall seems entirely crumbled here.... People with earpieces were even observed by some as walking up to cast members at bars and clubs and out and about telling the cast what to do or where to stand... Reportedly the cast has even been told or shown a few of the "stalker" blogs/vlogs.

They are probably figuring it out as they go and that may mean breaking down some walls.
I hope The Real World isn't going to turn into a more scripted show. I don't want to be watching a show where the producers tell them where to go and stand.

They are looking at our blogs. They have been following myself and my friend online as well as alot of other blogs. the cast is really cool and they will tell you that it is the real world. The drama is real. This is TV. Anything goes....
The source for the following is Real World DC Watch: The Map - Capital Comment Blog (washingtonian.com) A discussion ensued about the "realness" of the production and the adherence to the rules that Emilee challenged me on recently. I'll let these examples speak for themselves: Posted by: Stu, Jul 13, 2009 08:48:32 AM Good for you, for knowing someone on the show. I also know someone, a former staffer for the show. And TRUST ME IN CAPITAL LETTERS, IT REALLY IS STAGED. I didn’t say it was acted out. So I guess YOU are the dumb one for not even reading what I wrote. DON’T JUDGE people when you don’t take the time to hear what they are saying. HAHAHAHAHAHA. I said it was STAGED, by the developers and crew. There is a big difference. I was talking about approach to production, not the kids hamming it up for the camera. On that note, there really is an element of acting, albeit not scripted. Why does every season go through the EXACT same scenarios? Fights. Hooking up. Getting wasted. More fights. Not sure what you are getting so worked up about. I mean, it’s just a dumb show for dumb people. Anyway, Anonymous, thanks for your support. We’re just happy TRW moved their filming to Georgetown and away from all the good places in DuPont. It’s a perfect fit. Posted by: X-RW Staffer, Jul 24, 2009 12:38:45 PM Stu you seem to know a lot about the show. I worked on the show for many seasons and I can tell you that you are wrong. Yes they put a bunch diverse people in an unusual situation (living in a multi-million dollar house in DC) but the interactions within that house and with each other are 100% real and not scripted. The roommates may have run into each other during a casting interview but in general have never met prior to moving in. The staff works hard not to get involved in the lives of the cast. They must abide by strict rules that forbid the cast and crew from even talking. Posted by: DW, Aug 02, 2009 07:16:24 AM I saw the girls in NW yesterday. One of them were in a dunk tank and kept getting knocked into the water. I tried to knock her in but no luck. They were really nice, a couple of them are outgoing (the ones that were in the dunk tank) and the blond hair girl is kind of quiet. I realized they wrote their contact info on a clipboard we had to sign for the dunk tank, I wonder if its the number to the real world house but i didn’t bother to look. I also have pics but i dont know how to post them on here. Help anyone? Posted by: DW, Aug 02, 2009 07:25:44 AM Oh and the post by X-RW isn’t true. My friends and I were questioning each other about the whole "not supposed to be talking to the camera crew" because they were chatting with the camera crew and this staff girl that was walking around with a bunch of paperwork which was probably waiver forms or could have been a script.
It is pretty funny how there is the same situations in EVERY real world? Do they look for people with family members close to death or ill? i understand they look for the craziest people for casting but even if it is fake. I LOVE IT!

I highly doubt most of these "supposed people" who say its fake or scripted. If Emilee said that everything that went on was real I believe it since she went through the process. I will not believe anything else said about this show until a castmember from this season comes and posts here.

I've never said the RW is fake; I've given evidence of them communicating with t he crew and going to events without cameras present or visiting people in private apartments here in DC for dinners without cameras present. Take notice that I'm a "Special Contributor" on this site. I have no reason to lie about this. Do what you want.

I don't think you can script the kind of drama you get on this show. I don't think people are that magnificent of actors. no offense intended to anyone... I'm sticking to what I've known...it's not scripted.
never we'd get yelled at via batphone if we talked to any camera men.
Emilee is 100% accurate. Getting the camera crew to interact is the equivalent of trying to get the guards at Buckingham Palace to smile.

The roommates can get special permission (via the bat phone) to go to a friends for dinner. Or to the mall with her mom. But that would be on an individual basis, not as a group. When out as a group there is no Bat Phone so they must ask production certain questions, ie: clearance for a certain place; protection from annoying stalkers; wanting to go separate directions..... Most interact with the cast or have inside sources. You never know who you will come across on Vevmo. =)
