I thought that was Duel pun until I saw the punctuation.
I sent an email here using the provided contact forum.
I sent an email here using the provided contact forum.
You know, I've got to say that the DC media outlets are starting to disappoint me immensely. With all of the local, regional, national and international news organizations in the District, I would have thought they would adhere to the strictest of journalistic best practices. What a shame.

So someone apparently submitted this plagiarism story to http://www.dcrtv.com, and they have just posted it... Bloggers Say DC Times Stole Their Work - 7/31 - "Real World DC" bloggers at vevmo.com claim that the Washington Times' "Green And Glover" has plagiarized them..... Feel free to send a thank you tweet to @DCRTV, I know I will

Can everyone please call The Washington Times? Don't assume others will make the call. If you have called, have you gotten any feedback? --- Feel free to send Facebook messages to the 'writers' here: Stephanie Green - Washington, DC | Facebook Log In | Facebook Please be professional, and not attack personally. -- Their contact page has become the #1 hot topic on the Washingtontimes.com.
Yes, because Vevmo is the hotspot for plagarism these days!
You should speak to / write to their editor; not to the writers.
I know, but I cannot find info on who the current Arts/Entertainment editor is at Washington Times or Washingtontimes.com. Any help?
EVERYONE CHILL OUT!!! I spoke with Liz Glover and she will fix it. She knew it was Vevmos info and the article posted before she could put it. She Appologizes.

ollignom, she's probably simply backtracking and trying to save her ass/job. She's had time to cite Vevmo. When you write, "Your lady spies are here to fill in some blanks," you are all but claiming to have done some spying/research of your own, not grabbed from others. She's had plenty of time to fix it. This is not like a blogger reposting, this is a national newspaper. Journalism 101 is cite your sources, not add them later, especially when the article already received an update at 8:47am. Anyone know if this article was in the actual print newspaper or willing to buy a newsstand copy?

I have the e-mail I sent. All I did for the article was give her incite on my interactions with the cast and compile vevmos work. i am sorry that it went this way. She will fix it. i am just a blogger having fun and IT IS ALWAYS IMPORTANT TO CITE!!!:scaut:
She will correct it on Monday. She promises!!!

She's a professional reporter and as you admit, you are just a blogger having fun. Injecting yourself into this has just made it worse. Please don't take this the wrong way, but I would recommend you do some homework on the profession of journalism because while I appreciate your interest in the profession, you're in way over your head...buddy. ;)
EVERYONE CHILL OUT!!! I spoke with Liz Glover and she will fix it. She knew it was Vevmos info and the article posted before she could put it. She Appologizes.
First of all, you can't say chill out about something a national news reporter does. Second, she didn't need you to compile it for her (trust me, I'm sure she has the skills to do this on her own). And third, if she KNEW then it should never have happened. Not at her level. Period. Ollignom: welcome to the world of journalism. You wanted to learn? Then kindly take a back seat, observe and learn.
She will correct it on Monday. She promises!!!
That's unacceptable.

She approached me to ask about the cast etc... I just thought I would help out. i told her to source vevmo because that is where I said i got the Background info from. I would not try to steal info and use it for money. I agree. Journalism is crazy but i want to learn more before I jump in the deep end....I will keep my floatys on for now. lmao:cool:

And PS: all the DC journalists (both print and TV) know about Vevmo on their own regarding RWDC. I have five reporters to call back today alone re: the show and some stuff on Vevmo. Don't get played.
I don't understand Ollignom - I thought you were embroiled in the "Spencer" incident last time as well? If you were helping that reporter, shouldn't you have warned her about crediting vevmo for information taken off this site? And why does it have to take till Monday to fix this sourcing issue? I assume this reporter gets paid for her story?

Anyone call the Times office? Also, anyone know if the article was in the print edition?

If someone could please buy or at least look at a copy of the print edition of the paper to see if its in there, it would be much appreciated. I can't. Should cost around 50cents?

RWDC Visitors I guess the visiting season has begun at 2000 S Street NW. And I guess some of the house visitors aren't following the rules. Because, last night the following tweet was sent into the universe: @krenda5: The Real World DC house is AMAZINGGGGG!! Hanging out with them tonight and some more all weekend :) Of course I've got my computer set up to RT tweets with certain keywords, so of course it RTd the message. Moments later, this tweet came in: @xoxomollyruth : @realworlddcnewz mind your own business, quit being creepy. Don't retweet something without someone's permission. To which this reply was sent: @RealWorldDCNEWZ : @xoxomollyruth Um.. you don't need permission to RT peoples tweets sweetie. That's the whole point of Twitter. LOL Of course, that also warranted a public rebuke: @RealWorldDCNEWZ: Pssst. Hey you.. Yes, you.. Girls who were in the #RWDC house. if u want 2 go back, STOP TWEETING ABOUT IT.. We will RT ur tweets. Period. So here's what I've got to say to you Kristen and Molly: Twitter is a microblogging tool that posts messages publicly. If you don't want your messages retweeted, I suggest highly that you protect your messages. I understand that you're upset that you tweeted about your visiting Mike at the house and that this was against the agreement you had to sign in order to be welcome in the RWDC house, but please don't take your mistakes out on others. I hope you guys have a great weekend at the house and in DC before returning to Florida and Wisconsin respectively. Nobody was being "creepy" and nobody needed permission to retweet what was sent out publicly. And let this be a lesson to you that calling attention to a mistake just results in the release of information tenfold.
