DISCO! Man that was wicked fast. I thought it was fun and they did it well. I can always get behind a routine like that.
I've liked Janette since her first audition! She's definitely on the hot tamale train.
I thought Jason and Katelyn were fine. They danced it well, but I didn't really like the choreography.
Yeah, I didn't like either of Shane Sparks' routines this week. I think it was a combination of eh choreography and not having the right dancers dancing them...

Wow Asuka and Vitolio's dance was beautiful...
Ha! My mom thinks Mary Murphy must be on Prozac or something with all her highs and lows so close together.
I'm not sure if I love Kayla or I love having her on so I can see her grandpa! haha :D
I am so easily won over or turned off by the music choice! Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova (aka The Swell Season, aka from Once), automatic WIN in my book!

OOoh I really liked Philip and Jeanine too!
Meh, did not really like the tango dance.
Meh, did not really like the tango dance.
Sure it wasn't technically on point, but I like Philip and I thought it was fun to watch. Easily one of the hardest dances of the night.
Sure it wasn't technically on point, but I like Philip and I thought it was fun to watch. Easily one of the hardest dances of the night.
Yes it was definitely quite technically hard, and I like Philip, but I want the tango to be smoldering and I guess I just didn't get that from them. I guess I was just expecting so much this week since last week was so good. No one has really been bad, there just wasn't as much great for me this week.
I think Evan and Randi did well! They are early favorites of mine.
Me too!!!! I thought they were great, and I want them to go far together. Ade is truly an amazing dancer and so is Melissa. That freaking dance was flawless. I Want them to go far too. Jonathan and Karla are so fun, and they are personal faves. Cayla is freaking crazy, so hopefully she sticks around.
Wow...I am surprised with the bottom 3 couples tonight.
Wow...I am surprised with the bottom 3 couples tonight.
Who are they?
Who are they?
Jason-Caitlin Kupono-Ashley Max-Kayla
Oh boy...Kristinia DeBarge's lip synching is painfully obvious.
Well, after seeing the solos I can't say I'm surprised who went home for the girls, but I am for the guys.
i feel like the judges were hoping to get a Mark (season 4) type following with Kupono...they dance alike, they are both from the same area in Hawaii (i think) and they know each other. I don't think it was the right decision to cut Max, he was a hard worker and it looked like he adapted well to other styles.

I'm okay with Max going home...he never stood out to me.
I'm okay with Max going home...he never stood out to me.
I was surprised that Max went home over Kupono. I wasn't surprised about Ashley going home though, her solo was lacking. It was obvious they weren't going to get rid of Kayla.
I call bs. First of all, Kayla and Max did not deserve that spot. Second of all, they just last week talked about the fact that they need diversity, and Max was the only competent ballroom male and they lost him to someone like Kupono, whose solo was terrible. I was sad to see Ashley go because that was her fourth time, but I expected it.

Last week they definitely made it seem that they only kept Asuka because she was the only female Latin/ballroom dancer while there were a few contemporary dancers.
I completely agree. Last week they definitely made it seem that they only kept Asuka because she was the only female Latin/ballroom dancer while there were a few contemporary dancers.
Exactly my point, but then they proceed to eliminate the only male ballroom dancer. I wasn't upset that they eliminated Max, so much as the fact that they are contradicting themselves.
Exactly my point, but then they proceed to eliminate the only male ballroom dancer. I wasn't upset that they eliminated Max, so much as the fact that they are contradicting themselves.
I agree. It was quite the contradiction. I wasn't a fan of any of the solos last night, but it always hurts that the ballroom dancers don't have much to go on. I think Kupono should've gone home over Max though. I think I was more surprised that the bottom 3 couples were completely different than last week. Just another show of apathy at its finest...

I think Ashley just didn't realize that 30 seconds is not enough, because her performance picked up at the end. I will agree, that Kupono deserved to go home before Max. Yeah, I was a bit shocked too, but not that much. I was shocked at Kayla and Max, who I thought should have been Phillip and Jeanine, even though I like them.

I know this is so last week, but I forgot to mention it. Did you guys see where they brought out Evan's brother Ryan and he made it to Vegas for Season 6?! I'm not surprised, as I'm sure they would've kept both for this season if they could, so I am really hoping Ryan makes the Top 20 in season 6!
Yes I did notice OPD! It made me happy. I wonder how Kupono and Kayla will do together.
Kupono is still there? and man we got three shows on the air now, AGT, Cancun and now SYTYCD.
Yes Zacharay Kupono barely held on last week. Maybe this week with Kayla as a partner he can improve.
I was excited about that too OPD! I actually liked Ryan a bit better, but I think it is better for both of them that they are not on the same season, along with Caitlin and her sister if she decides to try out again. They won't have to deal with being compared to one another and they won't be pulling votes away from the other. This way they will hopefully each have their own time to shine.
