Sonya is a genius. I am in love with her.
Kayla and Kupono had an amazing routine, and they did it brilliantly.
I agree that piece was awesome!!
Ugh, something is wrong with my FOX feed. The sound is getting all static-y! I've checked other channels but it's onl FOX :( Really quite annoying when people are dancing to music that cuts out every 3 seconds.
OPD, Santogold is my favorite artist of the past two years. Her music is genius, and more people just really need listen to her stuff. I honestly feel that the judges are harder on them, because they already believe they are the weakest. They actually danced it very well.
OOoh Katelynn and Jason's dance was pretty neat, and the song was cool too!
I still don't like how she looked like a dinosaur though! Sometimes I wonder what drugs the costume designers are on.

It was definitely different, but hot in a way lol. If I could pull it off I might wear one! :D
Philip and Jeanine's dance was cool too, that chain must have been so hard to dance with. Tabitha and Napolean (or Tab and Naps as Nigel said), are two of my favorite choreographers. Their dances are always really different.
I love Jeanine. And I love Phillip, but at this point, I don't want him in my top 10. He has pulled hip-hop twice, and has done brilliant, but Tango and Broadway were terrible for him. I just want them to stop kissing his ***.
I don't know what a padedoo(?!) is, but that dance was beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. Melissa is soooo good at her art and Ade was equally impressive. Bravo! They are a great team.
*Ahem* Mini-lesson from www.the-ballet.com:

Pas de Deux is French for "Step of Two" and is what partnering is called in ballet. By dancing with a partner the lady can jump higher, take positions she would never be able to on her own, and "float" about the stage as she is carried by her partner. A partner allows a man to extend his line and show off his strength.
I would say Melissa and Ade did a perfect representation of this!
EDIT: Thanks molds!
This episode did seem especially rigged though, with most of the judges favorites getting their own styles. I also read over at sytcdism.com that the dancers had to choose two dance out of the hat, one was their own style, one was the opposite.
Anyway, it was definitely a great episode.
What a great Quickstep. They honestly did really well with me. I think they may have just redeemed themselves in the judges' eyes. America maybe not, but the judges yes.
What a great night overall.
It's going to be really hard I think because no one actually did terribly, imo. I really actually liked the Creator dance, I thought the costume was awful, but the dance itself was really cool and I absolutely LOVE Santigold.
It hurts my heart to say it but I actually thought Randi/Evan were one of the worst last night, I think they've been very lucky in that even when they've performed dances that aren't their specialties, they've had choreographers that have really played to their strengths, I thought for sure they (Evan at least) would kill the broadway number but it was very underwhelming.
I would say the last two seasons have been pretty rigged in terms of dance selections, you dont even see them pulling the dances out of the hats anymore I don't think. I'm on the fence about it because on one hand, who else could've danced the classical pas de deux the way Melissa/Ade did (especially Melissa), so beautiful. But on the other hand, it kind of undermines the whole "so you think you can dance" concept if you mainly give them dances based on their strengths instead of challenging them.
My favs of the night - Hip Hop Love Lockdown (usually I hate the choreo of those two but that was great dance), Quickstep, Vampire dance. But my favorite coupling is Melissa/Ade they are both such powerful, beautiful dancers. I have to admit though, personality wise, there just aren't a lot of dancers this season that I care about.
Anyone watching dance your a** off on Oxygen?
Binary, I do not think Caitlin and Jason did bad. And Santogold is my favorite so if they did bad I would have been pissed. I feel that they are going to go home anyways though. I felt they did the weakest.

I agree, plus they've been on the bottom just about every week haven't they? How many chances can you get? That said if they get ousted this week I do think it'll be more because people didn't get the choreography as opposed to their dancing being weak. Even though I loved Love Lockdown, Phillip should go home, if he doesn't he should thank his lucky stars (or SYTYCD producers) for picking hip hop this week. He reminds me of the hip hop girl from last season, good at what he does, but doesn't step up to the plate when challenged in other types of dancing.
RE Dizzy Feet - it's a great idea, I'm happy to see them giving back, but I could live without seeing Katie Holmes dancing. She should stick to what's she's good at: being Tom Cruise's beard.

Agreed! Katie Holmes just brings me down now. I don't want to see her on my happy show!!
That bottom 3 was nuts. To be honest, I did not expect one of them to be there. Sad to see Karla go. She was different.
Vitolio I expected. Honestly, I wanted Phillip gone. He has done terribly on everything except for hip-hop. Even Nigel said it: "You have done good, at what you do."
I feel as though Phillip may be going home sooner than I thought.

I didn't expect Vitolio to go home after the horrible solo by Kupono and I am a Kupono fan! I thought it was pretty harsh when Nigel said they thought he had brought nothing to the competition. I know it probably came out wrong, but he did have some great dances so far.
I also wanted Philip to go home. He is kinda the Cedric of the season for me. Cedric was AMAZING at what he did, and that is fantastic, but this competition is about being great at many different styles, not just the one you already knew. I was actually clapping when Philip and Jeanine went in thinking he would be sent home. Then Jeanine would be paired with someone better so she could finally shine since I have always thought she was great.
I was sad to see Karla go too. I liked her but going up against Jeanine and Kayla she can't win in my book. I think they are both so great and I would not want to see them go so soon.

Kupono did bad on his solo, but to be fair he should not have landed in the Bottom 3 to begin with.
Yeah, I feel as though Jeanine is great, but with Phillip for a partner, it must be hard to shine.

Agreed. Kupono and Kayla's dance was great and they should not have been in the bottom to begin with, but I don't think Vitolio and Karla should have been either. Their quick step was equally as great as Sonya's choreography. I think the judges just maybe saw more potential in Kupono than Vitolio and I can't really argue with that.
Jeanine getting another partner so she can really shine is another big reason why I want Phillip to go home. Yeah he is doing well in dances that are not his style for someone who wasn't trained, but he isn't doing GREAT. Sabra who was trained a bit but not for very long at all before the competition danced great and that is why she stayed to the end and won.
