OH HECK NO!!!! The Red Sox are the only Sox in my mind, besides I cheer for the Cubbies too since I've got family in Chicago.
Haha oh ok. Red Sox Nation is reppin in here. My Cubs are really irritating me. How do you lose to the pirates? FML.
Porcello for the WWWWWW (because that's how many he's got this season)
This may not last long, so here goes....
V1, I'll let you enjoy your half game glory. Heck, I won't even say a word when you guys lose tomorrow and we pull into a tie atop the leaderboard. Why so gracious you ask? Well, I figure you'll need a 3 game lead coming into Fenway the second week of June, or really you're more of a paper first then an actual first - as we all know how that upcoming series is going to go down. :wink2:
As I wrote "This may not last long" Sadly, I'm prescient..,
As I wrote "This may not last long..."
To be honest, you guys are up against a tough stretch - TB, SOX and then METS. Should be interesting. We have 12 of the next 18 at home, so hopefully we continue winning in our venue and turn this season around. I'm AMAZED we are half a game out with the way we have played (which is why I have not been commenting much in this thread.)
Wow, it was almost artful last night how Paplebon toyed with the emotions of the lowly Detroit Tiger fans, giving them hope by allowing the bases to be juiced before shutting them down by way of K. What an evil little *******! Like a cat playing with a mouse and giving it hope for escape before offering the death blow. :devil2:

Lately I feel like he tries to get himself in jams just to play with people and see if he can get out of them. Otherwise it would all be too easy for him. Take the easy way out Paps! I don't want to have a heart attack at 23!
****it....the no hitter was broken up. Still, great game thus far for Beckett.
It's all the magic of the squirrel!!
The announcer just said Tigers fans are heading to the exits. My kind of ballgame! :D
Geez, that got ugly toward the end. Francona should have know better then to put Beckett back out there. He has done it twice in the eighth this year and both turned into big innings. Also, if I was the manager of this squad, I'd have them ******** balls tomorrow before the game. Three errors in an inning? That is unacceptable...
Eesh. That didn't turn out so well.
Oy vey, that game got brutal towards the end. 3 errors in ONE inning! Yuck. Then Youk gets hurt too!! NOO! It may well be the Curse of the Squirrel instead of the Luck of the Squirrel. :( A win is a win though, right?
I briefly saw it as it was 10-5, with Polanco at bat in the 9th. I wasn't paying much attention.
I wasn't paying much attention.
Uh-huh. Sure thing. ;)

Thanks dude. Way to jam it in there a little deeper...
Thanks dude. Way to jam it in there a little deeper...
Um, but I didn't say a word! ;)
Glad to hear this turned out ok. Rockies catcher Yorvit Torrealba's*son*is safe after being kidnapped. - MLB - SI.com And we're in first place too Bachhus! So there! :p
And we're in first place too Bachhus! So there!
Yes, but here on the east coast we really don't really follow the minors until playoff time to see who is going to be the warm-up team before the ALCS. I'd be happy with Detroit. :devil2: On another note:
That's cool B...that's cool. Hahaha..."Take that Jake!" That was pretty ******.
Wow...it should be very interesting to see how this plays out:
A San Gabriel man accused of killing Anaheim Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart and two others in an April car crash pleaded not guilty today to three counts of murder, drunk driving and fleeing the scene of an accident. Andrew Thomas Gallo, 22, who appeared in Orange County Superior Court, is accused of having a blood-alcohol content three times the legal limit and running a red light when he slammed into the victims’ vehicle in Fullerton. Adenhart was a passenger in a car driven by Courtney Stewart, 20. Stewart, of Diamond Bar, and Henry Pearson, 25, of Manhattan Beach were also killed. Gallo, who was driving with a suspended license from a prior drunk driving conviction, allegedly ran from the scene and was later arrested. He faces 55 years to life in prison if convicted.
So...how is everyone doing tonight?
So...how is everyone doing tonight?
I'll let you know in 15-20 minutes...

Oh, what did you guys think about that Pujols play? Kinda cool huh?
B is just happy because the Sox beat the shit out of the Yanks tonight. As for me? The Penguins happened. And the Tigers have blown the 3 run lead they had going into the 9th.

And the Tigers have blown the 3 run lead they had going into the 9th.
Good stuff B! I love Game 7's. Should be a good one especially b/c I generally dislike Detroit sports period. Sorry molds. I'm watching your Tigers lead top 10th. I hope they win though b/c I hate the Sox more!
Just so I have something to rub in B (since I'll take whatever chance I can get), I came across the AL top game scores for this season...guess who's #1? That's right...Verlander with a GSC of 92 (9 IP, 2 H, 0 R, 0 E, 2 BB, 11 SO, 118 PC). Beckett's game tonight? A 76 (and Burnett score a big 28). Lester is ranked 3rd though with an 88. Verlander's is the best of either league so far. Oh, and if it makes you feel any better, Verlander (3), Lester (2), and Beckett (1) have had 6/10 top strikeout games so far in the AL. I tried posting the screen cap but it said the dimensions were too big :(
