20,000! That's it! Not even half full, and their golden child Joba started this game, or did they turn on him now too?
It is even less than that now. The fans started pouring out (those that were left) on the last pitching change.
....................AND HE WALKS A IN A RUN!
I guess I would be ****** too as Yankee fan where they spent tax payer dollars to build the new stadium and now no one can even afford to go to a game because the prices are so high. Then the players is getting paid so much, yet they aren't the best around, who really wants to support that?
Woohoo! 7-3! Let's keep it that way Saito!
Can I just say how much I LOVE Masterson?! Good pitcher and total cutie...how can I resist?
Also, (WARNING: hockey talk ahead!) Fedorov just got WRECKED!
Can I just say how much I LOVE Masterson?! Good pitcher and total cutie...how can I resist?
He is a joy to watch, especially because the others are struggling (except Wake, who is always scary to watch!)

hehe
Truthfully though, I know Fenway has to have some ridiculously priced seats, but from my knowledge I don't think they come close to $2500.

The MOST expensive seats in the house are the dugout seats at $325 a pop. Not in the same ballpark (literally!)
I think they should call the park Thurston Howell III Memorial Stadium (as has been referenced in the Boston Globe this week, lol.)
"Naturally I am quite pleased to attend my very first Yankees game, a spectacle that my merely adequate standing had until now denied me," said His Lordship the Duke-Chancellor of Arkengarth-upon-Settle, who often listens to Yankees games on satellite radio while tending to his 683-square-mile estate in Wales. "Until now, I have had to satisfy my sporting curiosity in less costly arenas, often hosting three-day fox hunts or airplane races upon the grounds of our family estate. But by mortgaging only half my landholdings, I am finally able to see the Yankees play the Red Sox."
Ok....I just spit up my coffee. :D
I love the Onion, hehe!
That's what I thought the expensive seats were priced at, but I didn't know if they charged a lot for the boxes or anything. Glad to hear Fenway has yet to COMPLETELY sell-out :)
If I am going to pay thousands of dollars per game, I better become some type of royalty as a perk! Free beer and nice chairs can only go so far...

I just saw this and came right over, you beat me though!!
50 games! Wow they are making a statement. How could he be that stupid? Well, ok, it's not that much of a surprise...
I think it's funny that ESPN just did a piece on how Dodger stadium was holding a Manny-wood day to celebrate his awesomeness...MUAHAHAHA:evilgrin:
JASON BAY just keeps getting better and better! :clapping:

Oh dear...what WILL Dodger fans do? Is there even anyone else on their team? I haven't heard anyone else's name brought up, EVER, in commercials. They look like they spent a load of money on the "Mayor" commercials (gag)
At least LA fans can get a chance to get off their knees and stretch ;)

I'm not a Dodger hater, just a Manny hater (we Red Sox fans are loyal like dogs until someone demands a trade...)
That being said, I think you are going to see an immediate decline as they go from the dominant team right now in the NL, to a regular contender.

Ha! I don't see how the fans can care THAT much, they only show up to innings 3-7 anyway...

Traffic is a nightmare, blah blah blah blah blah.
From the LA Times:
"Manny has requested that the Players Association release the following statement on his behalf."
"Recently I saw a physician for a personal health issue. He gave me a medication, not a steroid, which he thought was okay to give me. Unfortunately, the medication was banned under our drug policy. Under the policy that mistake is now my responsibility. I have been advised not to say anything more for now. I do want to say one other thing; I've taken and passed about 15 drug tests over the past five seasons.
"I want to apologize to Mr. McCourt, Mrs. McCourt, Mr. Torre, my teammates, the Dodger organization, and to the Dodger fans. LA is a special place to me and I know everybody is disappointed. So am I. I'm sorry about this whole situation." - Manny Ramirez
"The Players Association stands behind Manny and will continue to support him in any way we can."
Manny waived his right to appeal (which means he knows he's in the wrong).
He was just plain stupid for doing this, if it is the truth, especially since he tested positive MONTHS after JC Romero got busted and used the exact same excuse, and got the exact same penalty Manny is getting. If you are going to gamble losing millions wouldn't you make sure to take your prescriptions to your trainers and pass it by the MLB gods before consuming it? Ya know, just in case?

Isn't this the excuse everyone's using now?
Seriously, it's not that difficult. Get your **** approved before you take it. I think the MLB (and I don't know if they do) should have league-wide approved doctors and pharmacists who know what they can and cannot give a player. Not that it's their issue, but that could eliminate the "but my doctor said it was ok" excuse.
Haha:

"Come on, Dad, I read your Red Sox book. You said that at least you knew Manny couldn't have ever used steroids because he was too dumb to figure out how to stick to a cycle. Then he tested positive. You were, like, his biggest fan. You wrote a big piece after he got traded that was so long, it took me a week to read it.
WHAT THE **** HAPPENED? I go to make dinner and come back to check Gameday and Sox score 12..in ONE inning! Crazyness! Of course I miss all the good stuff :(

It was crazy. Of course Bay topped it off with a 3 run homer.
This on a day when Ortiz, Tek, Ellsbury and Youk are riding pine and....ehem - Julio Lugo is batting DH!
