I was ejected from a Purdue/Notre Dame game once in college. (The guy totally deserved getting a drink dumped on him!) lol
OK Insider...this may or may not affect our online relationship...who were you cheering for?

Purdue. PLEEEEEASE tell me you aren't a ND fan.

I have an extra "Our Brady Doesn't Suck" t-shirt if you want it... :)
ND sucks. Clausen looks like a troll.
My first college football game was at Ross-Ade! My sister went there.
I also cannot WAIT for college football season.

YAY! I went to Purdue as well!! I agree with you 100%. I can't believe ND has spent soooo much money on this worthless, ******, good for nothing, troll of a coach they have. He's a total *****. I go out of my way to talk as much **** as humanly possible to all ND fans. I refuse to tailgate. I go to ND bars wearing my Purdue gear. I throw elbows at games. I'm a lunatic when it comes to this stuff.
You might be my new best friend.
I know what you're talking about when you said it still gets your blood boiling. I despise ND. It makes no sense. I grew up 5 mins from the school. Everyone I know is a fan. I LOOOOOVE when they lose. I will buy a school tshirt just because I want them to beat ND. I have a collection of the most random college tshirts.
Anyway, I digress. As a Cubs fan, I don't really hate anyone. I'm rather bitter toward White Sox fans... but it's not on the same level as the east coast rivalry.
It's funny because as a student at USC you would think I would be all about the cross town rivalry with UCLA, but I could really care less. Instead my dislike for ND has grown enormously! I love seeing them loose! I know it is horrible but I also got weird pleasure out of seeing Weis get hit on the sidelines.

Hahaha it's funny, a bunch of my friends have season tickets for UCLA football and are SO obsessed with hating on SC, but SC is more concerned with...well, good teams.
It's the same with Michigan and Michigan State, State fans freak out whenever they beat Michigan in anything, but we Wolverines are way more concerned with that team from the worst state ever!
Insider...I'll cheer for Purdue any day, unless they're playing Michigan! They're my 2nd favorite team in the Big 10.
We should start an I Hate Notre Dame thread. :)
If I knew how to transfer all of the college football talk to another one, I would...although I'd probably just call it the college football thread :) There's lots of teams to hate on!

Yeah, I am sure there are plenty of students really into the rivalry, but when we beat them it's a great win, but UCLA fans seem to be way more invested than USC fans in general. My friends went to the game a few years ago when UCLA beat us and they were getting things thrown at them and were followed by a group of middle aged men who continued to harass them as they walked to their car! It was a little intense. If I remember correctly UCLA students also started setting fires to couches and cars! After beating us too! Crazies haha...
We should definitely start an I Hate ND thread!

Michigan State fans set fire to anything come basketball season, win or lose. Only 2 arrests this year though! They must have expected the ginormous loss.
As for the I Hate ND thread...a college football thread will have to do :) But we can hate all we want on it!

Ok, I am taking a risk here. I dumped Gregg and picked up Fernando Rodney for my second RP roster spot this week. We will see how it goes...
Yay B!
Big decision - 7 minutes before lineups lock.
Do I start Lowe who is going to pitch one game or Slowey who is going to pitch two games this week?
Lowe will probably have a better single outing, but I am thinking if Slowey pitches two "ok" games it will garner more points.
On a side note, I think I am going to pick up Dempster. Someone waived him and I have second choice on the waiver wire if the team above me doesn't notice before Wednesday. They also waived Wang...
DON'T pick up Dempster.
Wait, I thought he was one of the stud pitchers on your squad?
If you think he sucks then you guys must be hurting!
I've never liked Ryan Dempster. I never liked Matt Clement when he played for us either.
Zambrano is our stud. :). Lilly and Harden are my boys too. I'm pretty nuetral about all the other pitchers.
Zambrano is our stud.
Ok...so it is stud (singular) on the Cubbies. So what do you do the other 4 games? No wonder it has been one hundred plus years!
The other 4 games I pray harder. :)
I remember when everyone thought Nomar Garciapara was going to swoop in and save us. Then, he hurt himself playing soccer and was on the DL 90% of the season he was with us! (The DL is totally our MO). Do you remember that year Bacchus? It should have been quite a season for you. :)
Anywho, the point of that rant is this: We've always been a team to wait for one or two (sometimes three) players to save us. That's why the DL gets us everytime. Lots of people were sad to see Wood go. I, for one, was not. He was a drunk and always injured. Good riddens.

It's gotta suck to be such a recognizable player and STILL have a wife that has more accolades and is more famous and recognizable than you :)

i started Glen Perkins over Kyle Lohse, because he has 2 starts this week. I figure 2 ok starts are better than 1 good, although Lowe and Lohse had amazing games last week.
How many RP's do you start in your league?
Also I cant believe someone dropped wang already, I would ****** him up if I were you. I hate the Yankees (big time mets fan) but come on give the man more than one week!

My league runs two RPs and 5 SPs. I've been playing fantasy baseball for a decade and never used two RPs, so this is new to me and I did not draft for it.
I am going to grab Wang and Dempster. Might as well use up my WW position now as I don't see anything great coming down the pipe. I am holding one pitcher in reserve and will rotate through depending on if a pitcher is hot or has a two start week.
I hate the Yankees as well, but my desire to win helps me overcome that obstacle. :D
I just got seriously peeved because a Yankees fan said.. "You don't understand why I'm so upset about our losses. You're used to losing. You're a Cubs fan."
Excuse me? Oh no you didn't! Cry baby. I don't even want to hear it. A true fan would be more supportive.
I responded by pointing out that his team sucked last year too. He should be used to it by now. At least Chicago made it to the playoffs!
I honestly would like to see a final score something like 45-0. Is that possible? lol

Ugh! Get over it! They had a .500 record before this game and only one of those losses you could consider a "blow-out" at 10-5. Do they realize it is not even 10 games into the season yet? Cry me a river.
As a Red Sox fan born and bred, I feel you Insider! The Cubs have always been my second love because I knew they understood how we felt. I was rooting for the Sx-Cubs series a few seasons back when it looked like it was going to happen. One day it will happen and it will be the best series ever, with the best fans ever!

I'd rather lose now than in October...
I also grabbed Carlos Pena off the waiver wire and it was a good move. He is lighting the Yankees up right about now!
LOL I have him too...I was in the car with my brother in law hes a big time yankee fan, (we are partners) and at that point he also wanted him to hit something.lol then he hit a grand slam.
I start 3 relief pitchers in mine.. i have qualls and fuentes and hoffman .
