CUBS WIN!!! WOOOO WOOOO!!! 6-5 over the Brewers.
Insider - plllease don't turn the knife any deeper, haha! Just wait...the Brewers will win the series tomorrow night! :evilguy:
I must admit though, tonight was a VERY good game and they're a great matchup. The Brewers just need Brauny and Fielder to start hittin' em out of the park again.
Sorry Rachel. :)
We'll see what happens next. I may not want to celebrate yet.
I'm not celebrating...
Gregg gets benched for Marmol last night? ***. Time to waive Gregg and pick up a better closer for my fantasy team. One who is not LOSING points for me in a given week, let alone scoring any.

Of all the Cubbies you could have picked up, you picked Gregg. Personally, I wouldn't have. I'd drop him if I were you too.

Fernando Rodney!! Got any Tigers on your roster B?
JJ **** did pretty well last year as well. Does it have to be someone from a specific league?

...I have no idea what that means, but I'm assuming they're your fantasy picks? Either way, I see no Tigers :( Sad! What does (R) mean?
That is my team. (R) means reserve.
As for Tigers. Blah! lol...
I could say the same for the Sox. Cabrera's had a great start!

Well, the White Sox maybe.
Not the decade's most successful franchise! :D

Are these Reality shows that I am unaware of?
Classy move by Boston tonight. Picking a fight with the team that is weathering a tragedy.
Obviously you did not watch the game. All the instigators and ejectees were on the "not so" Angels. The Red Sox were just playing baseball.

Actually... I didn't watch the game at all. I overheard my older brother commenting on it earlier. I made a mental note to tease you.
I have no idea what happened.
Although... I heard the Boston pitcher threw up and inside toward someone's head. (on purpose?)

Beckett was in the stretching position, waiting for the call. He took a while, so Abreu called time, and as the umpire called it, Beckett was already releasing. It just got away from him...I don't think he was intentionally trying to hit Abreu.

You crowd the plate, you get thrown at. That has been part of baseball for over a hundred years. ;)

I'm not a baseball expert... but it seems like throwing that high should be a no no. Hitting someone in the head could be fatal. If he wanted to throw inside, maybe he should aim lower. lol No?
Like I said... I didn't see the actual pitch.
Classy move by Boston tonight. Picking a fight with the team that is weathering a tragedy.
I didn't get to watch the game just the highlights, but I think Boston would actually be one of the most understanding teams right now considering they had to deal with the sudden cancer diagnosis and recovery of our own young pitching prospect Jon Lester not too long ago. Luckily we are still able to watch him play and flourish.
I don't think Beckett purposely threw at his head, I think it ended up being a bad pitch after being thrown off by the quick time out call. Even the umps said they don't think it was intentional and that they wouldn't have given a warning if the benches hadn't cleared. You would know if Beckett was trying to throw at you believe me. Obviously the emotions are heightened in the Angels clubhouse and I think it just set them off as a way to let go. The instigators in the fight were the Angels. Scioscia was probably just sticking up for his team, but let his emotions get the best of him.
I got most of my info from a Yankees fan. So, I'm sure it's biased. I'm arguing mostly for arguments sake.
Haha, ask that Yankees fan if he thinks Joba throws at people intentionally or not ;) I bet Youk would give you a different side to the story!
It's kinda grainy, but here is a youtube clip of the whole thing if you care: YouTube - HD QUALITY - Josh Beckett Throws High And Inside After Abreu Calls Time
It all just looks like the Angels guys needed to let off some steam, understandably, and it just got blown out of proportion. Sciosci was probably feeling way more protective of his guys, Beckett wasn't going to get thrown out since there was no real reason too, emotions boiled up and the guys on the Angels most likely just used this as an outlet. I don't really place any blame, nothing too bad happened anyway. Plus the Angels won! So they should be happy they won the series!
I asked... and he said.. "Yes.. and I love that about him. He throws at Red Sox."
I don't get the Yankees/Red Sox war! I'm a crazy sports fan... but not so crazy with baseball. Football season is a whole different story. I was ejected from a Purdue/Notre Dame game once in college. (The guy totally deserved getting a drink dumped on him!) lol
Also, does anyone know if A-Rod is in L.A. right now? I SWEAR he drove right by me this morning as I was waiting at a light after leaving my apt complex. I was about to turn around and follow the car for a bit to see if it was him for sure, but I was already running late for Easter lunch, and I couldn't be late for some yummy ham and the egg hunt!

Haha, I love that you asked! Youk is one of my favorite Sox players, so Joba is way down on my list of classy guys. I loved when he was getting eaten alive by those mites in Cleveland! It was a little payback in my eyes.
As for the rivalry, you kinda have to grow up with it. It's in my blood! I like a little rivalry and I like that both sides of fans know their baseball. It's so much more fun when people get creative. Angels fans are actually the ones I have the most problem with. They are still the only ones I have actually gotten into a fight with at a game. Behind me was a horrible, disrespectful, slightly racist, badwagon fan that I ended up throwing a drink at. I admit I took it too far, but he just embodied everything I hate about Angels fans and sports fans in general. Blech, he still gets my blood boiling!
I know what you're talking about when you said it still gets your blood boiling. I despise ND. It makes no sense. I grew up 5 mins from the school. Everyone I know is a fan. I LOOOOOVE when they lose. I will buy a school tshirt just because I want them to beat ND. I have a collection of the most random college tshirts.
Anyway, I digress. As a Cubs fan, I don't really hate anyone. I'm rather bitter toward White Sox fans... but it's not on the same level as the east coast rivalry.
