Im really confused here. Wasn't the contract for the real world supposed to expire after brooklyn? If ther eis going to be a Cancun and a 23rd season, than why hasn't there been any talk of renewal of the contract?? Please explain.
I don't think their current contract ended after BK, but I do know they renew the show for a couple more seasons at a time, depending on the ratings :)
I don't think their current contract ended after BK, but I do know they renew the show for a couple more seasons at a time, depending on the ratings :)
So, The Real World will be depended on the ratings for season by season, Like with the ratings for Brooklyn I expect to see more seasons upcoming, But if Cancun doesn't do well than the Real World wont see another season? Im sorry if Im a tad bit annoying but Im not really good with this kinda stuff lol :)
I had my interview today and I was seated with 10 other people who were the most loud mouthed, unintelligent, idiots I have ever met. One guy stated that he beat his girlfriend last week and he thought that it was okay that Chris Brown did. Two other guys replied to him, "you are lucky that I wasn't there because I would have knocked you the ***k out." I was seated in between a Ruben Studdard look-a-like and a girl who is says that she is 100% gay but still has sex with her boyfriend. I don't get it. Of course, I didn't make it pass the first round. I thought I did pretty well. I don't know what these people are looking for. Group interviews are pointless in my opinion. The morons who yell the whole time just make themselves look extremely dumb and drown out anything good someone has to say.

Did they tell you right on the spot that you did not make it or is this your assumption?

Oh boy, now that I heard of the background of the group interviews, it would definitely deter me from doing those. I think I would blow a gasket in there. :censored2:
They don't tell you on the spot. They tell you that are they are doing call back until like 10pm or something. They don't do call backs. That is just a line. They give you a second interview (solo) shortly after the group interview.
I was wondering if anyone knew btw,
I'm editing my friends audition tape for RW23, I wanted to know how strict they were with the 5 minute time limit? I didn't realize how fast 5 minutes flies by when talking about oneself. Do they give any lee way or do they immediately cut the tape at 5 minutes?

I think I maybe said a whole 7 words at that round table, but you better believe that every word was calculated and resulted in its desired effect. I especially love how at the end they asked everyone to describe themselves in one word and the rest of the mouth-breathers I was seated with said things like "cool" or "unique". I was the last one to speak and my word? Ostentatious.
I think that the directors at the casting call are trained to weed out people who either a.) "really really like omgwtfbbq" want to be on the show or b.) the people that want to be FFFAAAMMMOOUSSS.
Though if you are well spoken, normal, and not borderline sociopathic I don't think you have a shot. Consider them not calling you back a compliment =)

My video was 7 minutes long. I had my friend film me instead of the whole tripod situation, and I thank the Gods he did because his filming style is what probably got me to the next rounds. He would ask me some off the wall or deep question and wouldn't actually start recording until I was a few seconds or minutes in. Okay, that and my nunchucku intro probably got me to the next round.
If it wasn't so large (~300M) I'd upload my whole video and share it with ya'll.
Good luck!

Hey, thanks for your input Kate. Although I was wondering, Did you initially send in a tape to get you past the first round, or were you asked by casting to make a tape after you made it past a couple of rounds? Because I got the notion that if they asked you to make a tape if you didn't so initially, you were allowed 10 minutes.
There is so much awesome material that it is such a struggle to choose from, lol. I feel like with 5 minutes its makes the person get straight to the point, but with 10 minutes you can elaborate and really just relax without having to feel rushed. But I do understand that there are so many tapes coming in that a 10 minute limit would take forever.
How is the casting process going for everyone? Any funny stories about real world 23 casting? How far along are ppl... ???? I want some juice!
Ginger, we strongly encourage people actively involved in the current casting process to kept quiet about it on line. Talking about the process is the kiss of death to being cast for this or almost any reality show.
To V, or anyone who knows
I just sent my friends tape to BMP the other day so they would probably would receive it in about a week, is it okay for her to also attend an open casting call in the coming weekends? I don't want her chances to get ruined for seeming to 'try-hard'.
Your..."friend" aye? =)
haha :P , i know what you're thinking. But it really is my friend/ex-girlfriend, and I'm like her 'coach' per se because this is all she wanted to do for like ever. She wanted to sign up and ask herself but I told her that it would probably be the dumbest thing ever.

She will not be the first to do this. Results vary. I'd recommend the defensive posture.
"I think my ex-bf sent in a tape of me, but I wanted to come here myself..."
For those of us just over 24, can we still audition or go to casting calls? I'm asking for a brother.
The casting rules state you must no older than 24 at audition time.
Thanks V. Is it just me who wishes they would extend it a little. My brother would be great for this series as he is currently battling a chemical imbalance.

A few years ago, someone at either BMP or MTV told me that their research said 24 was the age at which RW cast members stopped being interesting to the lower part of their demographic (12-18). There was one person on a recent season who was over the demographic when the show aired, but was 24 during casting.
Kimberly you mean? I think her and maybe Katelynn were both 24 but may 25 during filming, IIRC.
I never, ever discuss a woman's age without her permission... hence, no names in my earlier post. You have much to learn about women, Gra s shopper. ;)
Women are such babies..hehe.
HB...you should not make such broad assumptions, especially with all the women on board, LOL.
Haha. I'm hoping y'all don't gang up on me for that comment..but it's true.
Well, you've been branded for life. It happened to me when I was about 25 when a then GF instructed me on the stupid things men say about women when we should just keep our mouths shut. Honestly, I took the advice to heart and the results were far more satifying :smileysex:

Yeah I did that before and got cussed out.
