The fairness doctrine doesn't apply. Jon Murray and Republicans? That never was going to happen. There are enough issue lobbyist to satisfy the entire cast without casting one's lot with any elected politician. I could see someone working for the democratic or republican caucus on the Hill, but not in an official elected office.
I found this blog to be interesting. It's not hard evidence, but still a logical reason:

I also read somewhere that season 15 (Philly) was originally slated to be in Atlanta? Can anyone shed some validity to that?
I saw this at MM Agency Blog:
The types of people between 18 and 24 years old most sought after for Real World number 23:
Physically challenged or handicapped
Obese or struggling with weight issues
Going through the immigrant-to-citizenship process themselves or an immediate family member
Was adopted via the foster-care system
Grieving over the loss of a spouse or significant other
Deeply passionate about a cause or social issue
Very interesting as to what their looking for.
Question comes to mind, did they always have certain preresiquets (sp?) for every season? What were the prereq's for Las Vegas?
I don't really get why every Real World fan is seemingly so stuck on Atlanta? What's the deal? lol
See, I am all about Real World Macau (at the Venetian!)
Just think of the plot twists! There would be lots of sex, gambling and secret prostitution (heck, the latter could even be the cast job.)
Maybe someone will get caught smoking a joint and be executed! Talk about crazy reality television! Then there could be really great sub stories like, does the family actually pay for the bullet? Should the roommates come out of their stupor to attend the funeral back in the states?
Call me a visionary, but I see this as the next logical step in the progression of this entertainment franchise.
I think there is still plenty of cities left that havnt been done. Theres still Baltimore, Detroit, Dallas, Jacksonville, Atlanta, DC, St. Louis, Kansas City, Indianapolis, Minneapolis, Houston, Phoenix, Cincinnati, Cleveland, Pittsburg, Salt Lake City, and tons more. I would love to see a DC, Baltimore, Detroit, or a Pittsburg in 23. There is also some cities out of the U.S that I would like to see such as a season in Italy or San Juan. If there is one in a different country than they should cast a castmember that lives in that very country, or one that moved here from that country a little ago. Idk just somthing new that will stir the pot. But yeah I would like if they did a season in Italy.

Ehhhhhh....not Detroit. There wouldn't be anywhere (safe) in the actual city to have a house. Driving through Detroit is scary.
They just made a major investment in HD technology.
Finally! Good to hear. Maybe I am spoiled but I am a little sick of certain channels and programs not being in HD particularly MTV and RW, Challenges, etc.

Exactly...there are plenty of cities that haven't been done yet. As a viewer...I don't really care where the season is held. You can't say any of the seasons were awesome / have sucked because of the location alone.

Nope. It's definately the roomies that make the season good or bad.
btw. Real World: Rome should happen.
I'm going to apply so that I can create drama with everyone else on the show. It would be amazing if one person managed to create sharp divisions among every cast member.

Make sure you let me know if you get on the show so I can remind myself not to watch it.
That would be so freaking sweet if I was cast on the show and acted like a total ****h to everyone. I would make everyone's life a living hell, but I'd have one buddy on the cast who would act as my servant and act just like me.

I think you'd be better off trying out for the Bad Girls Club.

Well, I'm a guy. That would work if it was for The Bad Guys Club.

Ahhh. Well then...good luck with auditioning for the REAL world. ;)

So you are saying that you would simply be yourself, because you are doing an excellent job of being a ****h here, and likely a short term one at that.
Please don't be serious, Hotboih! :(
I just couldn't help but to laugh at those off the wall comments that he made.

hahaha
Im really confused here. Wasn't the contract for the real world supposed to expire after brooklyn? If ther eis going to be a Cancun and a 23rd season, than why hasn't there been any talk of renewal of the contract?? Please explain.

Who would be talking about a renewal?
Sometimes there are press releases issued regarding contracts and sometimes there are not. Normally when a contract contains a contract line item (CLN or CLIN) which anticipates an extension, a public announcement is not made unless there is a stockholder reason for doing so. Every network and production company operates a little differently. Given that VIACOM cut a significant part of its staff recently, including one of their best PR people, it is entire possible that they have also cut back on making public announcements that probably few people would care about or read.
