The CBS Original series SURVIVOR announced today the 18 new castaways who will compete against each other when the Emmy Award-winning series returns for its 44th season with a thrilling two-hour premiere, Wednesday, March 1 (8:00-10:00 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network. The series is also available to stream live and on demand on the CBS app and Paramount+*. The show is hosted by Emmy Award winner Jeff Probst.
Stranded on the beautiful islands of Fiji, these motivated new players must form a society and adapt to their physical and social surroundings, forcing them to decide what is more dangerous: the environment or navigating the complex social game and placing trust in their tribemates. The participants will be divided into three tribes of six and face a faster, more dangerous season from the moment they step on the beach. The moral dilemmas and mysterious new layers of this complex game will push even the strongest competitors to their limits, and the mental and physical challenges require players to constantly adjust their strategies in order to make it another day.
The individuals competing on season 44 are fans from diverse backgrounds who bring fresh perspectives to this new era of the game, with the same ultimate goal: to outwit, outplay and outlast. And in the end, only one will remain to claim the title of Sole Survivor and win the $1 million prize.

I hope it's like 42 where the cast is good enough to overcome Jeff's awful mess he created. But so far they look tryhard and corny. They look like they're all gonna play up to the cameras. I hope I'm wrong though.

What a shocker...people have preseason opinions. What a wild concept? It's the same "new era" theme so obviously if you haven't enjoyed that version of Survivor your gonna be cynical. For 44 seasons now people have had preseason cast opinions. My opinion is they look annoying and like trash. Yours might be that they look amazing. That's cool too. Zzz.
I will no longer pick a favorite until the season starts.
Even if Carolyn doesn't win, I think she's going to get to get the journey edit especially with her past. But this is one of those journey edits that I will actually like and I didn't even on an unconscious leave like those edits since Earl from Fiji won. Heck on a clearer day, Jeremy in S31 with his wife being pregnant and that alone is what got him the unanimous vote which rendered Spencer's threat to Jeremy the night before of how he would try to sway the Jury towards a Sierra vote if he voted him off was far more epic.
I still don't know if Happy Dance Mike Holloway's victory was a journey win but I definitely considered it to be my absolute favorite. As for Sarah Lacina, I have yet to see Cagayan (I know, right?) so her making endgame alliance with Brad Culpepper and Troyzan was smart and in Winners, I really thought that darn fire would go through first but it seems the Lord works in mysterious ways (Elwood Blues from Blues Brothers 2000).
im not talking about the cast discussion, idc about that bc yeah people will have different pre season opinions on them etc. i'm talking about your immediate "i miss what this show used to be" comment that we see on every survivor thread. this season hasn't started yet and you're already complaining about how bad it's gonna be and how old seasons are better blah blah blah. just go in open minded for ONCE and not be miserable
A good or bad season of a tv show doesn't dictate my misery or happiness. Maybe you are that invested in a tv show. I am not. It's simple opinions that you seem to take too serious. That seems like misery to me. I'm currently watching older seasons which is why I made the comparison. We are going to have the same twists and storytelling that I hate, so let's not act like it's gonna be different from 43. The cast was released so I commented that I dislike this nerdy super-fan archtype that they love to cast. And they all look like that. They look like they are gonna play up to all the dumb things Jeff loves and not just be themselves. It's a messageboard...if you don't like hearing other opinions then log-off...
That part
i don't even remember the seasons after they air tbh so def not invested, i watch with my best friend and call it a night. i come here to talk about the show and it's always negative comments from the same people about how it sucks now compared to old. we get it. if anything comes off as invested, it's someone constantly watching despite their high disdain. the shows got a chokehold on you and youre mad about it. i'm just mad i have to see the same complaints every season every episode
not everyone can be a danny that confronts jeff about the twists.
First few minutes released and Jeff talking too much and explaining the game to us for no reason. We need a host asap.

yes I couldn't even get through the first 4 minutes. It was too cringy.
It gets worse every season. I can't stomach it. Bring back the hot recruits. No more super fans!

Tyson said on his podcast that from his friends still in production said that this is the best season since David vs Goliath and one of the best seasons ever. I hope he's right.
