this season has been the worst edited season of all time. erika winning shows the editing is flawed and why this is one of the worst modern seasons of survivor ever
As a viewer I finally lightened up to Erika and I'm okay with her winning now. I felt like Xander was going to get robbed hard and do think he's played the strongest game but maybe he's just unlikable or has a terrible speech or just didn't connect well with people like how we saw Erika and DeShawn connect.
But also Heather's complex edit just started so maybe they're warming us up for her last minute win Chris EOE style. Jk
I don't know how Xander doesn't win if he is in final three. Has there every been a season where someone has an idol and it is known from like day 6, but they never had to use it to save themselves. I can kinda understand Deshawn/Ricard winning they made moves and if they make it to end there is an argrument. I don't see the argument for Erika winning other than the fact she is woman who had some strategy, which sadly might be enough with the votes from Shan, Liana, Heather, Tiffany.
Xander's game is super overrated. He made one flashy move and that was tricking Liana to flush out her advantage, but he still lost a potential ally in Sydney and Liana was on the right side of that vote and still in control of the game until Ricard blindsided Shan and then it all fell apart. None of that had anything to do with Xander. And he still held on to his advantages and let his allies Evvie and Tiffany get voted out. No one seems to respect Xander as a player. He's just a young athletic white guy with an idol and people mistake that as a threat, and maybe on a season before this one, that would've been enough. Hell on Big Brother, he would've won unanimously.
But he's on this season and he hasn't done anything impressive other than that one thing with Liana. Erika hasn't made flashy moves but she has always been on the right side of every vote, she's pushed for split votes, she's pushed for Danny to be the target over DeShawn and he went home.
In comparison to Xander, I can definitely see Erika winning over him and it's not just a "woman should win" mentality. Xander is genuinely just a bad player.
Part of the issue is that since Xander was a target and with a known idol, he really couldn't do anything, but he was a useful tool for others. If he ever pushed too hard ala Shan they would have flushed his idol. Basically it seems like Xander played the game that will get him to the end but won't win him the money.
People saying they want Erika to play more aggressive but if she did she would get voted out bc if women play that role they are seen as a threat while men can skate by. She honestly played the best game she could

she'd probably skate to the finals if she was on a winners season too
People still call Erika boring lmao. If a man was playing the game like she was, he'd be getting credit for being a savvy, smart, strategic player.
Not directed exclusively to anyone here but people in general thinking she's boring.
Tommy played a quiet, social game and was and is still considered a boring winner, anyone who doesn't make 'big moves', use advantages or show a strong personality for confessionals is going to be considered boring. Erika played the best game she's capable of playing, and even though there are flaws in her game (being saved by the time twist and the final 10 twist, at least based on the edit) she's still played one of the better games this season.
Modern Survivor is all about target management and she's done that perfectly in the last few weeks. Ricard, Deshawn and maybe even Xander are all still considered bigger threats than her, even though Ricard's the only one that has a really good shot against her in the end.
"If you watch the jury and you hear what people say about him, a lot of people did not respect the game that he was playing. A lot of people thought that when he stepped out of the challenges that it was for show and it wasn't because he really cared. So as the game goes on, you're like, "This guy is not an issue. Why are we worried about the idol? A lot of people want to go sit at the end with Xander so they can explain how they played a better game than he did." So it just became a non-issue, which is why I went to him and [said], "Hey, we need to vote out Heather." We never thought about voting Xander at this last Tribal Council because he's a good guy to take to the end and he can also help us beat Ricard. So it would have worked out for us two times. "

Oh yeah I fogot about that, they really made it seem like Xander fought his way to the end on his despite being the biggest target and the jury was just bitter & wanted a woman to win but that hasn't really been the case even if the last part is true. Everyone just left him alone and he hasn't had any chance to build much of a resume for the final, and the jury doesn't like/respect him anyways. I guess he'll be happy with 100k though

True but there's been fake foreshadows too for fire. The one jumping out at me was Alison on DvG, she got a couple fire quotes in her edit.
