Real World Seattle: Bad Blood - Ratings

i think a revival of jersey shore is the last thing they should do. however, i am OKAY with them showing repeats of all these shows instead of 10-12 hours of ridiculousness and teen mom. they should be showing bad blood reruns, they should be showing challenge reruns, nah lets show RIDICULOUSNESS INSTEAD!!!

The last three huge mtv shows i remember were... tila tequila dating show, jersey shore and now teen mom*they should use those 3 as a canvas, and make a trashy dating"of love" show with someone from teen mom or jersey shore* bring back a reboot of jersey shorei bet something of that nature would easily bring 2/3 million viewers easily, you said those shows wont work anymore, well what they have now isnt working either.... they might as well take concepts from the past from shows that had huge ratings

But just because those shows did well then doesn't mean they'll do well now.

Like I said..Look at Punk'd and also Wildin out with Nick Cannon. Both shows were brought back and did nothing for MTV.

And on top of that Telia Tequilla's show was done becaue MTV wanted to capitalize on what VH1 had going on with the Love shows. No way that shit will do well now.

Of Love shows wouldn't work now and definitely not on MTV.

They need a new family show hit like the Chrisley's Knows Best, they definitely need to hit the urban demographic were their sister VH1 is thriving at.

MTV is completely dead in the US. So dead, than almost nothing could save it at this point. While in Europe, especially in the UK or in Spain, they put easily 1 million wiewers for their shows. In the UK for instance, a show called "Ex On The Beach" is a huge success over there and they are already on their 6th season. "Geordie Shore" even though the show is pretty boring IMO, the numbers are still pretty big and they going for a 14th or 15th season. This show is originally aired since 2011.

I just think the original MTV in America is just out of fresh concept. A show which can bring viewers addicted to like back in the day. Even The Challenge and don't get me started with The Real World are kinda boring now since several seasons. MTV was supposed to be a avant-garde channel, always first to bring something new yet specific to that network. For instance ******* was MTV, Beavis and ******** was MTV, The Real World was MTV, Jersey Shore was MTV, so forth and so on...MTV had a unique image which made it a pop phenomenon. But for some reason, MTV lost that prestige and now just wait to die admist general indifference. #Sad

Its their own fault they dug their graves. Those remaking those shows are worth a shot but like DA said its not what they should be looking forward. Truth be told MTV needs to reinvent itself with new shows, more (actual music) with quality in the morning and some videoclips during comercials, more promos on the newer shows and older shows. The Real world needs to change asap (either try to make a RW: RR type of season to test the waters). The challenge needs to change as well but lets see how will season 29 do.

They had so many good shows "Next" , "Room raiders", "shot at love with..." , "Celebrety deathmatch (would be nice to see new season with new celebs), "Disaster date" , etc they should try to work on those programms that brought them so many viewers and try new things since we are in a new generation where people use their laptops/PCs more than they use their TV however you still have cases where people turn on the TV to watch shows like Game of Thrones, Walking dead, etc. They just need to give a shit for a change and try to bring the prestige the channel once had.

sad but true. Wise words my friend.

MTV is on its way out the door anyway. I still don't even know why they host the VMA's cause you don't see not nan video on the channel.

Yea even the awards are dull and lame now. Im honestly just sad for the challenge and real world

GURL i was with you until you said they have to do a rw:rr type of season... UMM they already tried that with real world: go big or go home and it BOMBED. One of the lowest rated real world seasons.

Problem is nothing on mtv is catching peoples attention, 10 years ago they had a huge underground fan base with college guys/girls and highschoolers. They did gain that fanbase back with jersey shore, (i mean they had college dorm viewing parties all over the us to watch the show.

Back when they had all the parental control, next,  basically all those trashy dating type shows  in 2005 2008 shows were amazing, they had tons of shows in rotation, nowadays they play repeats 24/7 of the same show, mtv isnt "cool anymore" They need to come up with something that will shock people and capture their attentions like teen mom, jersey shore and a shot of love did

i wouldnt call what they did for GBOGH a RW: RR type of season...

I'm a guy ( i get the confusion tho it happens a lot) Yeah i meant a real RR season but with the Real World name, they really need something fresh and daring to turn the tide.

man those mtv days from like 04-08ish were amazing

Road Rules extreme and viewers revenge did terrible during a time that MTV was still relevant...That's not the way to go at all, it would do even worse now days.

The Bachelor franchise is still pulling great numbers, I don't think love shows are that dead imo.  Not going to have the same impact as 10 years ago, but it call pull okay. So no shock they are going on the direction with dating in paradise and power couples.

Do yall think if that man didnt punch snooki that jersey shore would still be as big as it was?

I mean ratings started off low but increasing each episode but when that episode happened the show SKYROCKETED. I mean it was all over the news, there was so much buzz. Also I remember even before the show aired, there was so much dramaand petitions for the show to not show bc them stereotyping italians. Ahh such a great moment in time,  yall think there will ever have a show again on mtv that will get 5-8 millon again or nah

Jersey Shore was a fad. Even without Snooki getting hit in the mouth that show would've fizzled out at some point.

And as far as them getting THAT many viewers again..it's possible. But not very likely probably.

Few people watch TV live anymore. Networks that arent ABC, NBC, Fox, etc. arent going to pull in millions of viewers like they used to. MTV will never peak past 3 million again no matter what show.

I still believe that even if they continued jersey shore till this day, it still will get double or triple the ratings of what the real world does now. I mean real world is getting 300k lol.

MTV had this aura around the name.... It was you shouldnt watch it but you really should as all your friends would talk about it in school the next day. I remember being 8 years old and sneaking and being up at  9/10 pm just to watch the mess. Kinda like a train wreck but you cant keep your eyes off it. I remember not being in college or even high school but watching all these spring break shows and wanting to be drunk and party like the rest of them lol. Ahhh the nostalgia...

*PS does anyone have the ratings for all the shows that MTV currently airs... I mean it sounds bad but it cant be THAT bad.... right?

Yikes thats all the shows they have on mtv... so the rest of the time they just play reruns of ridiculousness lol

I don't know why MTV is so obsessed with Ridiculousness. The show is pretty lame IMO. And Rob Dyrdek is absolutely annoying.

The funny thing about Ridiculousness is that they haven't aired a new episode on like forever but stay playing these repeats. Sad

Number 37
