My Ancestors were Indian actually.

Well you said you were Black so some of your ancestors have to be as well. Your family doesn't magically change from Indian to Black overnight. LOL!

I'm black and Indian actually(I don't know why I left the Indian part out).

I will say i'm fascinated by Jenna's social media. I haven't looked too much into her but every video i've seen of her she's listening to a black rapper lmao.

Well you know the racists back in the days didn't like black people but loved their music. Elvis even stole from black artists... #ButThatsNotMyBusiness

you do?? you've heard a white person say "colored people" in front of a black person? this just sounds made up haha i don't believe thatI almost think just saying black people is less of a harsh phrase... may sound backwards, but it's true. African American is also widely used, but it really depends on the context of the conversation. "Colored people" is just extremely old fashioned and frankly sounds a bit prejudiced

i am dead seriouos. ive heard the following used in formality and non formality without opposition or public criticism from others:

colored people, people of color, ethnics, minorities, off whites, non whites

black people, blacks, african americans, africans, negroid

hispanics, mestizos, castizo, latino, latins, native american, indian, feather indian, dot indian

asians, orientals, asiatics, mongoloid

middle easterners, arabs, arabesque, arabians, sand of america, sand of europe

*****, jews, pacific islanders

mutts, mixies, half breeds, quarter breeds, *******, oreo, mongs and more that im missing

I dont live in a trailer park either and never have. ive lived most of my life in very liberal parts of southern cali

I'm black and Indian actually(I don't know why I left the Indian part out).

I figured that. My point was your black ancestors would likely be traced back to Africa.

Not necessarily.

DRAMA!!

Not necessarily.

We can drop this convo but I'm curious where you think they came from. Black people came from Africa period but they ended up in other parts of the world like America due to the slave trades.

I don't like the term African American because I have no African in me at all(but I won't get mad if someone would call me that though). And people can't say black now? Really? That's ******* rediculous.

I just say whatever I want, lol. And anyone can call me black (I'm mixed tho..), African American, or just about anything, and I won't even give two *****. If its thrown at me disrespectfully, though, Ima floor you.

I remember watching a documentary on mixed people (mostly black/white mixtures) feeling like they aren't accepted in either communities. They don't look anything like white people, but don't feel black enough to be black. It was fascinating. Just a random thought.. I asked my mixed friend what option does her check mark when he's applying for a job and it asks if he's black or white & doesn't have a "mixed" option. He chooses black. Which is funny cause he doesn't look black AT ALL. He looks exactly like David Archuleta, who looks Filipino and Mexican to me lol.

which is just sfunny considering that "full" black people already are mixed with an average of like ~25% white blood as it is

it wold mkae more sense if the idetification crisis came from a child whose parents are both from separate but homogenous, and genetically oppositional groups/races such as icelandic + korean...two very "pure" races

I consider myself a woman of color being super mixed.

I've always wondered how true this is. Like how far back in the family line did black folk and white folk have a fetish for one another? lmao And slave rape is too far back to be relevant today.

native australians are black...

They were believed to have migrated from Africa though...

black americans are definitely mixed with white to a small degree. it is what separates them from pure sub saharan africans

Enough of the race debate I do have a Real World question. Are the lights in the house timed to go off at a certain time? I know Big Brother lights are timed and on Bad Girls Club some lights stay on in the house 24 hours.

I believe the lights are motion detected but not super sensitive  , so you can still roll around in the sheets and stuff without all the lights turning on.

I feel like if you use the term "colored people" your mind is still stuck in that time period of segregation. Any black person would feel offended because at a time, that term was still used by whites to differentiate us from just being "Americans" in general.

As a black person myself I would just like to be called Black because frankly that's what I am. I don't like the term African American because I have no African in me at all(but I won't get mad if someone would call me that though). And people can't say black now? Really? That's ******* rediculous.

Bruh.. this is by far the dumbest post I have ever read not only on this site, but probably on the Internet entirely. You're black,  you have African roots. Accept it. Tf?

can you book the suite now?

As a black person you cannot call me a colored person. Being called colored is offensive because its associated with a time when we were not equals. No one remembers the signs where no colored people were allowed in certain restaurants or couldn't drink out of certain water fountains? Aside from that how could you describe me as colored when my skin is brown.

progressivley this was what African americans have been called over the years. the first twoi were during the times of inequality.

1. Negroes

2. Colored People

3. Black

4. African Americans

Take this shit somewhere else I came for real world updates not the great race debate

All life started on Africa, therefore we all have African roots. But the race conversation is getting old, so let's drop it.

LMAOO.

I'm pretty sure it had already ended.

He really does seem like a good time. Probably my second favorite next to Chris.

Just because I'm black does not mean I have African roots.
