That they were going off of Alicia's accusations but they didn't know him well enough to really know what happened (basically saying without saying that Alicia could've been lying). They just didn't feel comfortable being in the house with him while those types of claims were going around so I'm guessing Eddie & production may have had some sort of agreement if he just dipped out?

Like....... makes no sense to not have someone replace him. But maybe they understood the backlash of dirty 30 being too long and playing that storyline plus bringing in a replacement would take up tooo much time and we’d be at episode 4 before we even got to the first elim.

I think they didn't bring someone else in because they didn't want to air why he was leaving. If they bring a replacement then they have to show him leaving which then they have to show why. Since it's just accuasations production maybe didn't want to destory Eddie's life by saying he's an abuser on TV. It's a lose lose situation either way and they should have just completely edited him out no cast pictures nothing.
They could have easily done a "Derrick got stuck at the airport" thing though.

I’m sure she knew Eddie was going on The Challenge so why would she agree or not call out his abuse then? She clearly isn’t a trustable source. She probably realized she wasn’t in a great position due to her poor social skills and needed a way to take on the victim role.

I don't support anything that he was accused of but I hope that they had reasonable evidence and didn't just blindly believe Alicia.
