Paramount said last year they planned on having their investment in streaming to pay off by 2024-2025. I think the franchise will be moved to Paramount+ then, which would be in time for season 40.
BET and Vh1 are currently being sold off right now by Paramount.
I would hope they would put all the challenge shows on the app, and not family friendly CBS since they want more subscribers. But Challengefan is right, it doesnt look good for MTV when its counterparts are up for sale.

They created Allstars to bring back old viewers and boost ratings. I don't know if it was MTV's decision to push it onto paramount but I would think this show and Homecoming were to test the waters to see if more people tune in via streaming. We will never know since ratings aren't released but it's fair to assume the shows did average at best.
Next is the CBS Challenge. BMP pitched their show to a new network to bring in a new fan base. This flopped. Then they make the The Challenge behind the scenes tv special and book. In my opinion they wanted to get these specials out ASAP because they were uncertain about the future and wanted one final hoorah. Now they pitched their show to networks in different countries and 2/3 flopped. There was no social media buzz and probably no extra profit. At this point they're riding the wave and know that their time is coming. CBS is giving them one last chance to improve and MTV is probably going to die. BMP wished they could continue their show in another country if all else failed but they all failed.

It depends how they define OG but lets be honest, the womens side on the flagship is weak now. Its wishful thinking, but if they had the emilys, laurels, jodis, and caras for OGs, I think they would wash the flagship girls. But if its only the older women who dont workout, then yah youre probably right and they will wash them. But I also think it would be interesting to see where the people who have played with both OGS and the flagship cast would align.

The order instead of just having the winner pick who went in was the issue. It's better TV if say Wes wins so he throw in Kenny who calls out Nehemiah than the weird "list". I'd prefer a team challenge but that's never happening.

As long as MTV exists The Challenge likely will. That said, they should all do as many spinoffs as they can. This is their career.
