The Challenge: Seasons Synopsis

Battle of the Sexes was such a fun season with so many all-star cast members. One of my favorite moments was when Ruthie won the Maximum Velocity mission by outperforming all the guys. I love how the girls received bad *** cars as their prizes.

The Gauntlet

The games head to the Rocky Mountains as Trishelle, Cara Z, Alton, Tina, Abram & Katie crash the challenges.  The wilderness setting in Telluride, CO is a nice change of pace & this season is not sparse on conflict as Katie immediately clashes with her team & their voting methods.  The Veronica/Katie rivalry is born.  Coral feels betrayed when Mike votes her into elimination over his new crush Trishelle.  Abram, Rachel & Veronica engage in some shower fun as they send Abram home in style.  High Point-Sarah takes the heat from her Road Rules team & is voted into the Gauntlet 5 times & proceeds to take out every one of her Real World foes in awesome fashion.  In the series’ first classic elimination round, she defeats Irulan in an epic match of Dead Man’s Drop.  Roni also shines this season & even beats The Miz in one mission.  Low Point-An injured Elka goes into elimination against cream puff Cara & inexplicably loses.  She makes The Gauntlet her swan song & never returns.  While weak in the daily missions, it’s tough seeing the sweet Sarah voted into the Gauntlet time after time.  Historical Moment-The elimination round is introduced & gives the series a jolt of energy as players voted in can potentially come back & screw thing up for their once trusted teammates.  Coral is bitten by a spider in the final challenge & is taken to the hospital, costing her team a win & brings her bark down a few notches.                                                                                                                                                   A-

Sarah deserved better treatment ;( THere was mostly always someone worse than her in the daily challenge but they always pointed the finger at her lol, thank god she wasn't on Cutthroat haha

For those who may not know, the first 4 seasons are all on Youtube.

Looking forward to laughing at all the D's & F's that will be popping up soon lmaooo

Don't want to disappoint you, but even with all of the shitty castmemembers in the newer seasons & the severe drop in quality, I still love these shows.

Ugh can't wait for the Inferno review, such a goldmine. Also, I would give Sexes 1 a lower score, just because the guys bored me honestly. All good competitors, but nothing compelling about them, while the females were spectacular.

I don't think its gotten worse IMO, I think it's just evolved to something else. And same I'll never stop loving this show, even if they hand me the shitiest format I'll still watch it haha

The only season I would give an F is maybe the Island and Gauntlet 3, the other's all range from D-B with a few cases being an A like Exes 2.

The guys back then were wallpaper #sorrynotsorry

David and Puck were the most entertaining guys on Sexes 1 and they were the oldest cast members there lol

The girls gameplay made Sexes 1 interesting because they were so catty, especially Emily. If they played the way the guys did by voting off the person with the lowest score, the show would've been boring. Emily was one of my favorite villains. I wish she came back.

I agree about the girls being more entertaining than the guys. I've always thought the girls carried the show in the golden era.

Those hopefully will start around Fresh Meat 1 and onward to Exes 1. That is a shittiest point of any reality show ever IMO.

But as far as The Gauntlet...Damn good challenge. The missions were so fun and diverse, there was a cool and laid-back vibe to the season and on top of that we get Sarah's story and the beginning of one of the greatest rivalries this show has ever seen..Katie and Veronica, and who can forget the infamous threesome.

Oh and Rachel/Veronica always cracked me up when making fun ofTheo(Maximum Velocity Tour) and Sarah's relatioship. Especially Rachel.."what's seven across tell me now!" LOL!

Nothing about Puck is/was entertianing

True, the girls were the stars of Sexes 1 for sure.   Every single female was entertaning in one way or another, although guys like Puck, David, Antoine & Dan provided some energy too.

Emily was a fantastic villain.  Smart, ruthless & a good competitor.  You don't see players like her anymore.

All of this. I love what Emily said in her interview during Veronica's elimination: "We're not sending these girls to their deaths. We're just sending them home. I'm not going to stand there and cry. It's not my style." LMAO it's interesting how Veronica actually learned fron Emily and ended up becoming a strategic player herself.

I wouldn't every girl..there were some duds on the girls side. Anne and Gladys to name some.

But I agree..Emily had it all, She was a good comeptior, entertaining and was very Cutthroat. She was one of the best to ever be on these shows and I wish she had did more after that challenge.

Yeah Emily had such a ruthless, cutthroat, villainous way of playing and she was a great competitor as well and it was irony at its greatest seeing her plot against someone who would go on to become one of the biggest villains ever in Veronica. Such a shame she never returned.

I never really thought Emily was that big of a villan... She was just catty but in the most boring way.

I like it, she pushes her way in a very nonchalant way and influenced things to benefit her. She was a sneaky girl who didn't care how it looked, she wanted any girls she didn't like/were threats out.

I agree! Emily made Battle of the Sexes interesting to watch. She was the reason why Rachel and Veronica (two girls who would later on become power players in the game) got voted out and didn't care that the majority of the girls were upset.

The Inferno

Things get hot as hell in Acapulco as CT & Darrell join in the fun.  Mike continues the tradition of hooking up every season & romances newbie Kendal from the opposing Road Rules team.  Coral decides to continue Melissa’s work from Battle of the Sexes & plagues Julie with constant criticism.  Until Julie exacts her own bit of revenge &… relieves her tension.  In Coral’s bed.  CT is unusually calm & cool for his first challenge & even makes it to the finals.  This was Holly’s last challenge.  Kendal & Leah's elimination round is pure chaos as David streaks, Veronica & Katie bicker, CT taunts Leah, Abe flips out & a drunken Miz lashes out at Kendal. High Point-CT in a pink bikini is heaven, but The Inferno is most notable for one thing: The topless Veronica/Katie blowout.  Miss Doyle unleashes fire & brimstone not seen since The Exorcist as she rails her teammate for deception with the fury of a thousand women scorned.  Low Point-There are scarce low moments in this entry, aside from a few weak elimination rounds.  For those afraid of heights, Julie trying to release Veronica’s safety harness on the zip line challenge 17 stories above the ground may be hard to watch, but it was still pretty damn entertaining.  Shane vomiting after losing to CT in a cookie eating contest Inferno was pretty grim as well.  Historical Moment-The tactic of throwing missions to purposely lose & potentially ditch a weak teammate is initiated as the Road Rules team tries to no avail to lose the pesky Katie, who takes down both Julie & the perpetually drowsy-looking David in the Inferno.

 A-

Battle of the Sexes II

The first sequel is inaugurated as future Veterans Brad, Robin & Derrick make their entrance to the Challenges.  This season has no elimination rounds, only vote-offs, severely limiting the tension & excitement.  Couple that with the guys dominating nearly every single mission & you are left with a very predictable season.  The drab, dusty New Mexico landscape also adds a layer of suck over the games.  Thankfully, Tonya was either given a lobotomy since The Gauntlet or was replaced with her ******, vacuous evil twin & is here & ready to party.  She flashes the boys, hooks up with Theo, picks fights… she’s basically Party Girl Barbie on crack - & loads of fun to watch!  Ayanna’s freak out over being sent home is crazy, outlandish & fantastic to watch.   High Point-Tina is a standout on the girls’ team & makes it to the last challenge before being sent home.  Brad also gives a strong showing & departs just before the finals. Low Point-Angela’s poor-little-me routine gets old fast.  It’s simple.  Perform well & you can stay.  Unless your name is Rachel, apparently, who after only one misstep, goes out with a clever nod to her Sexes 1 departure speech.  Arissa making the finals is a definite WTF moment. Historical Moment-The age of getting rid of rookies first seems to dawn as Derrick, Kina, Cameran & Adam all exit quickly.      B

I think that even if Angela preformed amazingly she still would've gotten sent home. These things are usually a popularity contest and no one really liked Angela. Everyone being Pissed off that Cynthia was voted out where everyone expected Angela to be gone despite her not really doing much for the team and probably would've been gone soon enough anyways was clear proof of that. Plus the women made dumb decisions too so there's that.

Only thing I would change is that Darrell made his debut on The Gauntlet; he was mostly quiet on there so it's easy to miss him lol

Even Coral said that she would have kept anybody, "even Trishelle's dumb ***"  around if they were helping her win & I believe that. It's definitely a popularity contest, but if you stand out, you last longer.  Coral was ready to vote Tina off in the first mission & then she saw how well she did in Dangle Drop & kept her.

Can't believe I overlooked Darrell debuting on the Gauntlet.  I know better then that.

I always thought Coral and Tina's relationship was interesting because they were friends with the same people but weren't really too fond of each other. They were like frenemies. I remember when Coral and Mark were on Blair's aftershow for The Inferno II and Coral talked about how she has never seen Tina back it up. I wonder what started their love-hate relationship.

Tina is my all time favorite Challenger, but I can see how she might rub people the wrong way.  Her & Coral were definite frenemies.  Tina  called her out for the spider bite & also said how happy she was to see her go on Fresh Meat.

Tina is ******* amazing. My favorite moment of her was seeing her argue with Dan on the Inferno 2. I wish she wouldn't have punches Beth on the Duel, I would have loved seeing her that season.

I don't because if that's the case why did Arissa make it all the way to the end then? She clearly wasn't an ***et to her and the rest of the women's team winning and even Coral knew that because at the reunion she stated that she said that to Arissa's face that she didn't deserve to be there so she and the rest of the women should've gotten rid of her. And if she did really mean that then that's stupid because you are not gonna be the only one in that final challenge. There are gonna be two other people at your side so you gotta make sure they're legit competitors that are worth a damn.

I know Sad  She would have kicked *** in the elimination rounds.

She thought she was doomed since she had no friends, even though she initially seemed to be happy on her own.  I wish she could have been part of the Beth/Aneesa/Svet alliance.  They were so much better than the *****y, annoying "Drama Mafia."

Only thing I would change is that Darrell made his debut on The Gauntlet; he was mostly quiet on there so it's easy to miss him lol

Eh. Darrell was kindal always like that on most challenges he did though. He was quiet and wasn't really shown a whole lot.
