If that was true, they wouldn't reach out to Laurel every season, they wouldn't have brought in Mattie in the first place or Ninja. They don't care about someone beating Cara - they just have shit poor taste when it comes to who they gives calls to sometimes.
Cara only became the default female face because Camila was finally exposed as the racist she is, Jenna hasn't been able to win yet, and Cara started to play nice with Bananas. If they can find someone to replace her that bring competition and drama, they will do it in a heartbeat now that she's had a falling out with Bananas. Cara is replacable af to MTV/the Challenge like most of the women on this show.

He won Invasion & the format of Invasion didn't allow for the Lavenders to do a thing for Nelson. Shane left weeks earlier before Nelson so "riding" Shane anywhere couldn't possibly happen. You're in your 40's yet the two levels of intelligence is comparable.
