The Challenge: Ride or Dies - Ratings

It's clear CT was the star and without him a lot of the audience left no?

no specific person bring ratings if anything it's the promotion of a season that gather interest- people don't understand that the name, cross promotion and viewers noticing notorious cast members shape a season and inevitably the ratings -- the show focus too much on competition for some which keep away the Bravo/ messy reality tv fans who used to watch + sport fans don't consider it a sport and still consider this reality so they aren't showing up live

I have a great feeling the ratings rebounded after last week and we'll get over 500k no? Smile

No baseball playoff games yesterday so they should gain some yes

The percent of people that watch baseball playoffs and The Challenge are probably so small... they can advertise it and call it America's 5th Sport but it's not true and it never will be

I smell a dip

I mean it gained me cause baseball wasn't on so thats +1 lmao

But I'm sure it's still a decent chunk it's not like no one who watches reality TV watches sports

This

Slight increase which is good??

They'll be elated over those numbers

this show is like the crypt keeper like it'll never die somehow it always gains its momentum back slightly during a season

Unrelated but The he Challenge USA didn't get this treatment despite getting less views than this lol.

The Real Love Boat is CBS' ************ primetime series of the fall, averaging a little under 1.9 million same-day viewers and a slim 0.24 rating in the key ad demographic of adults 18-49

Summer vs Fall, right?   Huge difference

Nielsen Ratings is also very outdated and extremely inaccurate. I'm sure they makw their decision based on DVR's, streams, and social media interaction.

CBS weren't happy about the challenge ratings especially since it was a show missing some many talents from their other shows

Oh I agree--just saying that in the summer they're less likely to cancel a show because they don't have countless sitcoms to fill the gap.

If they wanted better ratings they should have a better cast, included drama, a better format and edit. They can't produce a mediocre product and expect good ratings.

They did factor in delayed viewers, it still didn't satisfy them.

"Delayed viewing hasn’t helped much: After a week of DVR and on-demand viewing (as measured by Nielsen), the first two episodes rose to just 2.59 million viewers and a 0.3 among adults 18-49."

interesting, usa a flop.

they should try moving all stars to mtv

i think it was just too confusing having all these random people on the shows. or they needed real names like parvati or janelle or rachel. even then i think it wouldn't have helped. flop!

You would think it would get higher ratings as mtv only airs it on tv once a week with no reruns

Dropping from 950k to 450k in 2 seasons is still crazy to me... and it's not bc double agents was in COVID and everyone was home the season before that one pre covid was doing close to a million too. People just don't care and the many useless spin-offs and unknown internationals aren't helping

the whole network is down in general so technically MTV can't be too disappointed if everything else is doing worse than this--they're suffering a huge loss now with their demographic cause most are streaming content instead of watching live or with DVR

Tons of things like what?  It's always so laughable when people try to defend the drop in ratings. These lame brain excuses crack me up.

Yea yea yea. Challenge fans love to make up excuses. How about the show's quality has fallen so much and the way they edit it to try & be more serious isn't working and the fans just aren't interested anymore?

You do realize I hate what the show is currently, right?   That doesn't alter the rankings are fine if not good for MTV
