PEOPLE I LIKE BEING PARTNERED WITH PEOPLE I HATE IN PARTNER CHALLENGES.

Final Reckoning was a great season but it really made me realize one thing I really dislike about partner challenges: People I love being paired with people I hate therfore my favs being hard to root for. Like Tony for Example...the Whole damn season I had to partly root against him because he was paired with Backpack's ***** ***. I wanted Tony to win but just not with Backpack and I hated that he was with him because of that. Nelson/Shane being another Example..although I don't hate Shane but I don't care for him though and would rather him not be with my king Nelson.

So yeah...I hope they do more indivitual formats going forward.

Kinda funny reading this thread. Nelsons your king now but on page 1 you ******* on him & AYTO completely LMAO.

I feel like Debut has loosened up over the few years I've been here.  Even these recent burn book posts aren't as anger filled as I remember the others being but know I was pumped to see more were added.  And to be fair he said his personality sucked but could be a good competitor.  I think the latter won may have won him over.

Yeah. I've really lightened up on them honestly. Mainly because they brought in ATYO people who are worth a damn and can contribute to the show and because of that I don't mind them now.

JOSS

This one really hurts my heart..you were supposed to be one of the good ones. I mean yeah, you aren't all that interesting but ****** you where hot as **** and you were a good competitior. WHY did you have to call Da'vonne 8 Mile? WHY did you have to do your stereotypical black woman impression? WHY ****** WHY?????

Now I have to put you in this thread...Oh god this hurts. *Ugly Cries*

he has also made comments about homosexual people. I really liked Joss but this season and those comments made me change my opinion on him

what did he say about homosexuals ?

DERRICK

Remember when this guy got snubbed from Invasion and people were pissed about it? I do. Remember when he returned on the Next Season which was Dirty 30 and he didn't do jack **** other than nearly get ****** up by Nelson and Took Backpack out the game?(The latter of Which I am thankful for mind you) I do. Remember when after the show he co-signed Camilla and then made a return to podcast land with challenge mania in which he never seems to shut the **** up and let the guests talk? I do. Remember How he's still so ******* bitter that he lost to Wes on The Duel? I Do. Remember how he constantly begs and begs and begs to be on the show despite not really having a good reason to be on it at this point? I do. Remember how he asks people on his own podcast why he isn't cast? I do.

All that **** is why he's in this thread.

Dirty 30 Made it abundantly clear that Derrick is another one who was good for their time but now is just useless on The Challenge in 2018. He was moreso a competitior than a Drama Queen and we have plenty of both nowadays so where exactly does he fit now? Nowhere. So He can stay at home forever as far as I'm concerned.

It really sucked seeing a favorite come back and then stand in the background the entire season.  He should have known better.  The podcast is what gets me though.  If you love your fans as much as you say you do then READ THEIR FEEDBACK and shut the **** up during the podcast sometimes.

THE FINAL RECKONING FINALE

Since The FInal Reckoning is in the books and the dust has settled I wann give my official thoughts on this and I have a bone to pick with alot of ****..Mainly the whole Ashley and Hunter Situation.

Now Look...Ashley took the money. That's fine(Despite me feeling for Hutner a bit)But my whole issue with it is her BS that she spouted afterwards. Now Look, Hunter said some foul **** and he was WRONG for that and he gave her all the reason in the world to take all of that money and run and that's on him. But my thing is 1. She acted likeHunter was this terrilbe partner when that was hardly the case. Aside from that comment he made he was a decent as **** partner to her, and more than half the time SHE was the problem so lets not act like it was all on him Okay? 2. Even if he DIDN'T say what he said she would've taken the money ANYWAYS so it didn't matter what he said or did, so why are you acting like it was this empowering thing? It was alot of money and you wanted it all to yourself that's it and that's all. Just own the **** and leave. Damn.

And while I had no issue with the final..Apparently only the running portins count. What the **** is the point of having an eating thing and puzzle when it's not going to matter in the grand shceme of things? EVERYTHING YOU DO IN THE FINAL NEEDS TO MATTER AND COUNT. Not just bites and pieces of it.

And that's it honestly.

When I compare this final to the hell the dirty 30 finalists went through ...

And I won't even talk about BOTS finale where the winners suffered two days of running in the desert to get only 60k each lmao

The Challenge

A show that has enormous potential, but has truly squandered it all with countless terrible decisions in casting, twists, themes, etc. How does one show get it wrong so often as they do? First off, this trilogy was the worst idea they have had yet. It gave them an excuse to basically use the same cast 3x in a row, sprinkle in some Big Brother and UK folks, and thats it. The core nucleus of this trilogy remained the same, which meant the same ******* storylines. You think we, the viewers truly give a **** about the Cara love triangle? Or Kayleigh being "bullied" or nataLIE being "outted?" You think we truly give a **** who tweeted at who? Game related drama time and time again has proven to be the best type of drama we have seen from this show, yet they decide to focus on people throwing pizza boxes on one another.

The redemption twists are garbage, and just a cheap way to extend the season. The purges are boring, it was nice the first time, but having it all the time defeats the purpose of it. If you get eliminated, your out, none of this 2-4 chances to re-enter the game type of ****. We all see through it, its just a sad pathetic way to make the season last four months. Listen, no fans want to watch this **** for 4 months. How is it that 10-12 episode seasons were able to show more gameplay with less episodes? Just goes to show how atrocious the editing has gotten too.

This show had so much potential after Invasion. They were casting new people from RW/AYTO etc. and bringing back some vets that werent seen in years. Now we bringing in all these other shows, and lets be real, none of them been adding to the viewership numbers lmao. Look at how many RW/RR/AYTO people havent been used on this show yet. The casting pool was huge, but theyd rather cast garbage like nataLIE and kyle repeatedly.

I think its safe to say that there isnt a fanbase thats truly excited for this show anymore. Casuals hated this season, the smarter fans didnt care for this season. The show has oversaturated its own niche market, with too many specials and seasons going on and too many episodes. They really need to go back to basics to save this show because NOBODY is happy with it. People want teams, they want Old School v New School, its really that ******* simple. But these morons gotta concoct some stupid *** twists that make no sense. This show is going to continue going downhill. and it deserves it.

Spot on, DAF

CHUCK NOT EVEN GETTING A CHANCE TO PLAY THE GAME.

Thanks to Britni this king was ROBBED. He got sent to redemption right away for a bit and then had to go home due to him not getting picked. That really sucks. He didn't get a shot at the game and I would like to think he would get cast again but given he was brought on because of Britini he won't. I would've love to see what he could do.

Spot on, DAF

THE BACKPACK DEVIN SITUATION

So this was one of the main talking points of the season. Devin Follwing Backpack around to get him to hit him but then Backpack starts talking about Devin's Late father.

My whole issue with this is people taking Backpack's side and acting like he's any kind of right...No the **** he wasn't right and it wasn't okay for him to bring up his father. Devin was ******* with him but so what? Backpack has done the same **** to people for YEARS now so all of this is Karma in my eyes. It's everything he deserves and more...But hey. If people wanna take that ******** side then fine.

I hope Devin beats his *** at the reunion.

its funny cause people LOVE the moment when CT follows Wes around the house on Rivals.

but since its CT...*tea*

It really sucked seeing a favorite come back and then stand in the background the entire season.  He should have known better.  The podcast is what gets me though.  If you love your fans as much as you say you do then READ THEIR FEEDBACK and shut the **** up during the podcast sometimes.

Derrick was often in the background.

Sexes 2:  Got hit back a golf cart & made friends with a frog (I think it was a frog it's been a while)

Inferno 2:  He shaved Lando's head after Landon tore his ear when they wrestled but that was about it

Gauntlet 2:  He was pretty much the focus because he was the captain for most of the season after thankfully beating Adam Larson

Fresh Meat:  He was essentially reduced to Diem's partner and let her make his decisions.  They had a relationship that lasted a few seconds.

The Duel:  Epic elimination against Wes but other than that he did nothing

The Inferno 3:  Finally won but wasn't a focus.  I forget he was there half the time.   That was the Susie/Cara show.

The Island:  Sat back and played John/Kenny's game

The Ruins:   He got pissed that someone threw something (baby powder) on his bed because he had pics of his kid there.  Other than that he just laid low and waiting for the final.  Oh and Evan had to tell him they didn't need to actually "jump" when doing the puzzle in the final.  Maybe the moment that sums up Derrick the best.

Cutthroat:  I don't remember him doing anything other than taking out Brandon and trying to lead the Blue.

Yeah, okay, true but that's competition.  Derrick always brought competition.  Even in his return

Wait... he dead *** said "The Challenge" I SCREAMED⚰️⚰️⚰️

Spot on and 100% agree. It's sad because MTV as whole doesn't seem to give a **** about their own network anyways.

They really need to get rid of that "winner takes all money" from finals and stop doing redemption houses/purges for a long time because at this point its overdone af. That redemption house has done way more damage than bringing good things. Wes/Theresa being the biggest casuality of that stupid twist.

@DA I don't agree that Johnny was right for bringing Devin's father (and if I was Devin I would have popped off) but the dude harassed him for how many minutes/hours following him everywhere since he was trying to get Johnny rilled up he got what he wanted but not what he wasn't ready for. A lot of people in this show who have a lot of their personal life exposed try to dish but they are not ready to take it and Devin is one of them. Same happened (in a different scale) when Laurel completely destroyed Paula.

People cheating on their SO on live TV / Polidicking

This isn't a super big issue but I decided to addressed it since it happened on Final Reckoning as well. While I do understand that the environment itself is very intense and "seducing" why do people who are in relationships continue to come on onto the show only to cheat on their significant other on live TV? Throughtout time we had a lot of examples both male and females on Real World and The challenge of people cheating on and there is not (that I remember) a PSA of it (not that I want). It was "disgusting" seeing Cara Maria this season throwing herself at Paulie when she knew he was taken. Granted she wasn't the only one at fault but how can people like this be glorified into this "I am a female role model for girls out there". But Cara/Paulie situation isn't the only case but it's the last case that happened (that I know of). That polidicking **** needs to go (although it won't be gone) because it's creating pointless stupid storylines that drag throughout seasons = stupid triangle between Cara/Kyle/Paulie.

the biggest issue is the hypocrisy. Christina got sooooo much more heat meanwhile Tony was the one with a pregnant Madi flying over to see him at the hospital. Angela was with Tori still while on Johnny's lap pretty much naked and i feel like no one said anything. Cara was def in the wrong on both bloodlines and FR. John was always cheating on Hannah. It's always inconsistent what's seen as a storyline and what isn't. Single hook ups pls

Favorite thread on these forums.  Few ramdon thoughts from a long time Challenge fan:

  • I watch out of habit, but I seriously dislike what the challenge has become.  It used to be fun, and interesting.  There used to be genuine drama born from gameplay that led to sincere rivalries.  Now its all contrived.
  • John and Cara need to retire.  He's been on almost 20 seasons.  I actually can't remember the last time he wasn't on.  He's near 40 and still calling people "bro" and "dude" and whining whenever things don't go his way.  Cara went from being really likeable in the begining to morphing into this.... I actually don't know what adjective I'd use to describe her.  Maybe it's just cara fatigue from her, like Johnny, being a staple season after season after season...  I think I saw on twitter where someone posted John had a two season contract after Reckoning, so if true, I'll be rooting for more embarrassing eliminations and hopefully he can ride off into the sunset afterwards.  Guy loses far too many eliminations to have "Challenge ******" in his twitter bio.
  • I don't understand Kyle's tough guy act.  Where did that come from.  He's been on two seasons and slept his way to one final, and this past season he tried flexing on Paulie when security or oceans were between them, but once in the house he didn't say a word unless Brad was standing between them.  Fake tough guy.
  • Part of what I used to love about the challenge was the characters.  MTV used to cast genuinely interesting people (for the most part) on their RW shows.  Now - and this might just be a reflection on todays "generation" - all the newbies seem to have an eye on being professional reality stars.  Natalie is a perfect example.
  • I used to like Ashley and was glad she won Invasions.  Buuuut... shes a trainwreck.  Has serious issues.  Britney is another.  She is a disgusting character and clearly a raging alcoholic.  And while I used to love Amanda for standing up to camilla and not letting people push her around for being a rookie.... she seems to be deteriorating as well.  Doesn't actually look healthy, IMO.  It might be better for each of them in the long run if they stopped being cast on these shows.
  • CT can retire.  Being a Bostonian myself, I have always liked CT... but he's just a swollen irrellavent shell of himself now.  All the things that made him amazing on these shows is long gone.
  • That re-union was terrible.  So much yelling.  God I sound old here but I swear nothing interesting was revealed or discussed.  It was all just everyone yelling at each other.  And who gives a **** about Tony's proposal?

MORGAN

This girl is just plain BORING and USELESS. I'm not particualrly understanding why she's on War of the Words given her *** was as entertaining as doing taxes on Ex on the Beach, and then on top of that we already got someone who's as usless ***he is on the show. She's blonde, her name starts with a J and rhymes with Kenna. We don't need another do nothing whack *** blonde.

And you know what makes it worse? She's kissing *** and trying hard to fit in and be liked by the fanbase it ain't working. Like what the **** were you trying to accomplish by trying to drag Wes on the aftershow? ***** If ANYONE is old and dusty it's your terrible *** partner. And speaking of such...you really didn't think that people were gonna come at you just based on who your partner is? ***** bye.

this really needs to be her last challenge appearence because she's not gonna do anything that can't be done by anyone else. Can we get Didi/Nurys/Maya/Janelle please?

Yes! Morgan sucks, I'm expecting her on next season but begging casting not to waste a spot on her

Sorry but just  because she won her season of BB does not mean shes meant for the challenge. I hope they do not waste a spot on her for the next challenge.

JOSSThis one really hurts my heart..you were supposed to be one of the good ones. I mean yeah, you aren't all that interesting but ****** you where hot as **** and you were a good competitior. WHY did you have to call Da'vonne 8 Mile? WHY did you have to do your stereotypical black woman impression? WHY ****** WHY?????Now I have to put you in this thread...Oh god this hurts. *Ugly Cries*

Was his comment to Day wrong? Yes. Do I think he should apologize when he sees her? Yes. Do I think he's actually racist? No.

He's hot af, he's anti-casual faves, he's one of the best competitors, and I think he has *potential* to be more interesting (he really was robbed of a lot of moments and screentime). And imo... he and Sylvia probably won, but they robbed him of that as well. I'm not unstanning yet, we'll see what happens if he's on 34 but I hope he brings it more in the entertainment department.

Anyone who uses the word "bully", whether cast or fan. It's become so tiresome that every situation has the word bully thrown out.

Bullying is when you go out of your way to torment someone who is defenseless over and over. Not because you got in a fight with someone once or even repeatedly, or because they said mean things to you, or because they chose you for elimination. All of these people are grown and all have the capabilities to defend themselves. It needs to stop.

Thanks for coming to my TED talk.
