That's kind of how its always been but back then it was Coral, Mike, Veronica that were the big names. It's hard to make 32 castmembers all into big popular characters no matter what there will be people who won't get enough screentime or are just boring.

They don't need to make everyone on the cast big characters. That's unrealistic and not the point. It's about them shoving certain cast members down the viewers throats for so long that now the show can't seem to survive without them. A show like this should never get to that point.

I hate to say it, but I agree. There will always be personal favorites but we don't need to see the EVERY time. The rotating casts of the early years kept it fresh and interesting.

Well Bananas and CT are the biggest names on the show so why not milk them for all they got while they are on? Why bring them on to a challenge to barely give them camera time? As much as you don't like them a majority of fans love them and if they are barely shown it could turn viewers off thus losing ratings. In most reality shows especially of this size theres always going to be a couple characters that are the bigger names and those will be the ones who will get the most camera time no matter what.

You can explain this 'til you're blue in the face & people still won't get it. The show going under soon anyway so **** it, it doesn't matter.

It's not that hard to get but people need to understand that these names are the biggest names of the show so yes they are going to get the most camera time it would be dumb not to. The only thing I don't get is how people come on The Challenge forum constantly bashing it wanting it to end. Why keep commenting about a show you obviously no longer have interest in? I for sure don't want it to end but if you do why are you here? This isn't a personal shot at you just in general cause I've seen others do it.

It's not about the camera time within the individual season. It's the fact that they feel the need to have them on every single season back-to-back-to-back & it's gotten to the point where if they don't show up, the show will bomb in ratings. This show is already in the deep red with Viacom/MTV & if they try to switch it up just for one season, it could get the entire show cancelled. That is ******* ridiculous.

As for the other thing...maybe it's because we can? Hell in my case as long as i've watched this show, kept up with it on various forums & rode the wave up until this point I can say whatever I please about it. I'm most likely done with the show after this season anyway (unless some old schoolers and/or fresh rookies from RW/RR/FM 2 show up) so i'm going to have pretty much no filter for the remainder of this season.

Yeah that's true. People seem content on seeing the same shit over and over again. Hardly anyone wants change when it comes to this show so its futile. And it does seem like this show is finished no matter what they do for next season..Oh well there's still Survivor.

Perhaps this is why over 2M people, on average, used to watch each challenge episode not that long ago. And, those who seem to like the show for one, two or three characters and here criticize those who don't fully embrace the series today, don't understand that they are locked in a slowly turning death spiral of diminishing numbers. Frankly, people who want to bash those expressing negative opinions should get thicker skin. Often I don't find some of the comments all that illuminating, but everyone should continue to express their opinions.

I think it's been about 8 seasons since BMP's excellent story editor retired, only to be replaced by a near minimum wage type (hyperbole) who probably was better versed in Marvel comics than in how to create and edit a great story line.

I think we're all just sad and frustrated because we have loved the show for so long and we don't want to see it end.

I just don't understand the reason to constantly come on again The Challenge forum and comment everyday about how "you are done with the show" or how "this show sucks now". If I didn't like a show anymore I would simply stop watching it not go on a challenge forum for super fans and continue to bash it. It makes no sense to me but maybe thats just my opinion. I'm not hurt by it so the thicker skin comment doesn't really apply it just really doesn't make sense to me.

Some of us have been watching these for about 15 years...we're going to bash them for ruining something we were loyal to for so long

Specifc characters never determined my interest level, or enough to make me not want to watch. I digest this show is a simillair way to a sporting event. I do like to see some regulars, mainly people who are known to be good competitors. I enjoy the competition and seeing people excel at the game, especially in physical challenges. For a time I did get very fed up when Kenny, Evan, and Johnny where running every challenge. At the end of the day though, my favorite challenges are ones where people compete hard, heros are made, and glory is had.  I do feel they could do a better job hypign up this aspect and getting the viewer emotinoal invested. A good example of this is during Rivals and when CT and Adam were making their last stand. Where they had started and where they had wound up, it was great drama. We could use more crafted stroy elelemnts presnted like that.

Went down by a little but still pretty good.

I think that is really good especially because I know people missed it because they forgot/didn't notice the time slot change.

Yea I know someone who missed but they were really mad at MTV for doing that. I dont know why they didnt advertise that heavily on last weeks episode.

The 3 episodes that hit the million mark wsho when Jonna was the STAR of the episode her team won power couple, nias meltdown at the nomination ceremony, and nias exit + final elimination.

Such a great season.

The 3 episodes that hit 1 million all featured Johnny,We saw how awful the ratings dropped when he left & how much it improved when he arrived,to say Jonna is the reason for the ratings is so stupid and false.

Previously... on Survivor!

Did I say Jonna was the reason for the ratings rise?

Teen mom did great, compared to every MTV show on the last months:

They need to cancel that ish already.

They need to cancel that ish already.

With those number is not getting cancel anytime soon lol

Of course it did great. They're the originals and all the girls that used to watch them 5 years ago have their own kids now so why NOT watch it.

If MTV was smart they would promote shows during this season but what do you know, everything worth promoting is over now.
