The Challenge: Battle of the Bloodlines Discussion (SPOILERS)

You never know...Road Rules took a 3-year break before that last season that they purposely sabotaged lol

I couldn't care less though, I was just saying....this show is about to be done too.

AYTO will never replace RW on the show because if you noticed production is going from season to season meaning w.e current season of AYTO is out is the only season they will recruit from. At this point they have 14 Bloodlines , 6 AYTO , 2 FM , 1 Spring Break and Atleast 15 seasons of RW to cast from so I doubt they will ever erase RW from the show.

what will happen to vevmo?

Skeletons had better ratings than AYTO2 and Exes 2 so why they only cast 1 from that season (and not a female) but 2 from AYTO is beyond me. Hopefully the reasoning is because their bloodlines are worth a damn.

If RW is so vital, why have they moved on from casting recent RW castmembers on The Challenge?

And when did they start doing this?

Bloodlines Breakdown:

  • Chicago:  Aneesa
  • Spring Break Challenge:  Camila
  • FM2:  Cara Maria,
  • AYTO2:  Christina, Dario
  • Ex-Plosion:  Jenna, Cory, Thomas
  • Sydney:  KellyAnne, Cohutta
  • Vegas:  Nany, Leroy
  • Key West:  Bananas
  • Skeletons:  Tony
  • Portland:  None
  • St. Thomas:  None
  • San Diego:  None

5 out of 28 castmembers are from the last 5 seasons of RW.

But how many people have they been actually using from those 15 seasons of The Real World?

I mean this IS a "fresh meat" type of season & those have always had very weird/lackluster casts...I highly doubt this will be the norm if this show continues. FM2 only had CJ from Cancun, Ty/Emily are STILL the only DC castmembers to do one, NO2 skipped like 3-4(?) shows before officially making their debut, etc.

It's just their weird *** casting.

Which proves my point.  They are NOT prioritizing new RW seasons in terms of casting.

What people are not taking into account is that not everyone from AYTO is going to be used. And most of the FM are retired and not all the Bloodlines are going to be used either so how the hell are RW going to be phased out? You really think they can afford to do that? Just because this season doesn't have alot of RW doesn't mean they're moving away from it. Look at last season...where did most of the cast come from?

Which proves my point.  They are NOT prioritizing new RW seasons in terms of casting.

By the looks of it, they prioritized the regulars.

Bananas, Leroy, Nany, Camila, Cara Maria, Aneesa...

Survivor and forum games fo' days.

Bananas has like no life.

Which proves my point.  They are NOT prioritizing new RW seasons in terms of casting.

Did it ever occur to you that maybe some of them declined to do this season or didn't have a bloodline to do this season with? Maybe that's why they don't have a whole lot of people from the newer seasons? Maybe some of them didn't like the format? That's why Wes said no.

Which proves my point.  They are NOT prioritizing new RW seasons in terms of casting.

mhmmm that's not entirely production fault Arielle/Jamie/Jenny/Brian/Bruno/Madison all declined, all of them were asked.

Ashley C/Lauren are not interested in doing challenges

Jay/Violetta didn't have a bloodline willing to leave the country for 6 week, both were asked.

Sylvia brother is in the army, 2 are not in the age and she doesn;t talk to her other siblings. She was asked.

Jason didn't have a bloodline in the age Range.

Nicole sisters are both getting or got married.

Which proves my point.  They are NOT prioritizing new RW seasons in terms of casting.

Yeah this cast reminds me of the first Fresh Meat actually. On that season, they prioritzed the regulars (Coral, Darrell, Derrick, Katie, Tina) while not prioritizing the new-school cast members since there were no one from RW: Paris, RW: San Diego and RW: Philadelphia (which were the most recent seasons at the time other than RW: Austin) on the Fresh Meat cast.

Their formula is kind of weird. I just hope next season they go back to casting a good amount of people from the new RW seasons while also getting some veterans that have been wanting to come back.

Which proves my point.  They are NOT prioritizing new RW seasons in terms of casting.

They asked Sylvia, Violetta, Averey, Anastasia, Nia, Joi, and Madison decided not to use them so it's Bunim Murray's fault.

Which proves my point.  They are NOT prioritizing new RW seasons in terms of casting.

In other words, the theme is taking precedence over casting new RWers.

I still think the biggest downfall for The Challenge was moving away from 2 season per year.  They pigeonhole themselves with these themes where some castmembers are automatically excluded then they have to wait a whole year for another opportunity only to be excluded by the next theme.

Which proves my point.  They are NOT prioritizing new RW seasons in terms of casting.

They didn't decide not to used them some had problem with the age range of the bloodlines, others didn't have a bloodline willing to leave the country for 6 weeks and Madison case she declined.

Like I said before though, they honestly don't know what to do with either or these shows anymore. Whoever has been in charge of casting since Rivals needs to be FIRED & whoever comes up with the themes needs to be fired. Clearly their gameplan now is to ride the coattails of Survivor & and other "trendy" reality themes but somehow manage to make them subpar + cast any Tom, ****, Harry & Sue who spams Twitter/Instagram all day with #TheChallenge hashtags. Redneck Island & Broken Skull Challenge are currently doing "The Challenge" better than The Challenge lol

Junky was right when he/she said as far as RW, they're just trying to make something stick at this point.

Soo why not scrap the bloodlines theme if the aformentioned were so important to the show?

If they "got married" then Nicole should be there should she not?

Because TPTB are stupid as ****.

Redneck island, really, now?

I understand they wanted this theme but if all the people who bring entertainment are declining or can't get Bloodlines then it would be have been smart to switch the theme.  I guess we'll have to put our hope in the Bloodlines there being entertaining.

Look at Pinkrose's post. Madison declined, Sylvia/Violetta both didn't have any bloodlines available, Anastasia is done so of course she's not going to be on. I guess something came up with Nia so none of that is BMP's fault. Not sure about Avery and Joi but I'm willling to bet that they either declined or didn't have a bloodline willing to go. So once again..not BMP's fault.

For them, anything "smart" is the hard part.

That's a very good show actually. Better and more entertaining than The Challenge in alot of ways.

It seems that anything that could be smart and help this show they don't do and then do the opposite. I really don't get it.

Who is in charge of coming up with the theme?
