Emily and Ty got 20k each. Seems stupid to throw it for an extra 5k and taking 20k out of Robin's pocket

He doesn't care about Robin nor did he probably want to run that final with her. Mark made a deal on Sexes 2 as well. I wish he didn't but I'm not sure why some seem confused by why he'd do this.

? youre really stretching yourself thin trying to make this seem justified ******** just stop man.

If he was such a boss why did they regulate him down to a supporting cast member *giggles*

Rewatched that final elimination in exes since i was curious...it was x battle and camila beat robin 2-0. Mark and bananas actually went to a third after the first 2 they split. Mark couldve definitely thrown it, but he did a real good job making it close and realistic

I'm not stretching anything.  Mark made it very clear how he felt about his chances with Robin in a final.  Very clear.  Mark cut deals his entire Challenge career.   I don't understand why anyone doesn't understand why he cut the deal.  I wish he didn't because maybe the guys are the tiebreaker and he eliminates John but looking at it from Mark's point of view this isn't difficult to understand.

I get why he did it. But it also doesn't really make sense as he's this macho ultra competitive guy but then is a ***** and throws a physical elimination he would demolish Johnny in? And for an extra 5k (2.5k after taxes?)

Idk if they stopped calling him after that but they probably did. With Mark not throwing the elim, CT&Diem are finally champs together and the whole challenge universe is happy. Instead we get Johnny and Camila winning which no one wanted at the time lol. He really threw off production's whole plan of having CT&Diem win since the season was pretty much made for them in reality.

But Mark was never the ultracompetitive guy--see when he made the deal on Sexes.  Mark went on these things simply to make money and be on camera.  I do think the deal is one of the reasons he never came back especially since Theo sold him out for Sexes 2.  I really don't think Mark wanted anything to do with the final with Robin as a partner.   His prior final he got stuck with Aneesa and i highly doubt he wanted a potential repeat of that with Robin.

Again, I get it. I don't agree with it, but I get it. But imo him losing to Johnny who was 2/3 of his size looked a lot worse than walking a final and getting 3rd with Robin.

Also I don't think he ever disclosed how much he got from Johnny did he? Was 25k just a guess?

Derrick (I think Derrick but maybe Susie--it's been a while) said John and Mark had a deal going into the season and Mark got "a third" of the prize money.   Remeber Mark always had deals before the season started (Sexes:  Colin, Jamie, Eric & i think Blair, Sexes 2:  Mark, Eric, Theo, Dan & Mike, G2:  David, Timmy, Adam, Robin, Julie & Katie) and Sexes wasn't any different.

Where we disagree is Mark doesn't care about losing to John because everyone actually follows the show closely knows he threw it to him and it wasn't about coming in third in the final.  It was about going to a final with a partner he knew he couldn't win with.  Why go through it unless it's just for the experience

Well if Johnny and Camila get second then he only gets ~16k so he would get even less than if he and Robin walked the entire final.

Idk, like I said just seems stupid to me. I'm no casual with how they hate quitters, but it does suck that he basically ****** Robin out of a good amount of money and now talks about it like it's a funny joke as Robin is literally on the streets but that's just me

third place was guaranteed money, he had no reason to throw that ESPECIALLY since it was a partner season. leave it up to this guy to still find a way to make Mark seem justified in it tho

I assure you he got more money by throwing it than if he had finished 3rd. I'm not saying it isn't messed up or unfair to Robin.

So you got his bank account info now?

Right but do you think he's that worried about 5-10k?  I hate quitters and I wish he would have crushed John but who says we don't get Camila-Robin as the tiebreaker and Camila wins it anyway.  In 2011 (or whenever it was) I highly doubt he thought Robin would be homeless in a decade and that 10-20k wasn't going to save her.  Robin's issues are much deeper.

I know. At least he finally admitted it I suppose though we all already knew it. I don't get praising him for walking and holding Aneesa's hand but then excusing (or saying it's understandable) that he threw the elim and screwed over Robin.

Overall, Mark is likable on a surface level I guess but he's just corny and full of himself to me too like Pink said. Like yeah he's probably fun to party with or whatever but I don't think he's a "great" person. He also had that little rumor of him pushing his much younger gf to get an abortion but let's not go there today lol.

I mean it would have been understandable if he didn't hold Aneesa's hand to the end and do "The Elevator" for her.  That was his "I'm a good guy" moment and "this is what it's all about".  That's not the real Mark but he can play that role.

This could be my fault because maybe I'm not explaining it well enough.  I don't think Mark is a "good guy" and I'm not a fan of his (although I don't dislike him as much as many and I'm grateful he made this happen) but I don't blame him for cutting deals--he always did it and wasn't concerned with Robin.  That makes him a **** but I get it.  I couldn't have dealt with Robin that entire season or in a final.  She'd have been crying every 30 seconds.  She started crying about hurricane victims during the last mission with the jet engines.  I feel bad for Robin--her situation like Tonya's for a while--is unfortunate and I really don't know what happened with Robin from SD/Sexes 2 but the girl that we saw toward the end I worry about.

Yeah I concede that Robin was probably a nightmare to be partnered with so he took the easy way out and I can see that.

If this was already mentioned my apologies, but Mark and Brad also let Evan win the Duel 2 because of taxes being less in Canada so the prize was worth more and Evan cut them a check after.

His comments about Kendal are getting weird...

ew brad is pathetic if this is true lol

mark wasn't winning being stuck with aneesa for most of it anyway

lol taking it out on Darrell and getting his *** handed to him. Iirc he let Casey stay on the ruins too to appease JEK and was gonna get some of their money in the end.

he literally is not saying anything factual thats why i stopped replying

He's so full of himself it's cringe

It's been awhile since I have seen Exes 1, but was Robin really that bad? Like, obviously she wasn't in the best mental state but that didn't really seem to stop her from performing well in the dailies, as far as I remember. They never came in last and even managed to get a win.

I also don't recall if she ever had problems with endurance, something that both Ty and Emily have struggled with in the past. I don't think they would have beaten CT and Diem in the final, but I can see them beating Ty and Emily and getting the 100k for second place. Mark would have gotten twice the amount of money that he from his deal with Johnny.

It's also really ****** up considering that Robin had a child back home.

Robin was an emotional mess. And she was never winning the final. But was she really worse to deal with than Camila on her drunken tirades, Diem being an unstable emotional player, or Emily doing blackface?

A lot of Robin's emotions came from her missing her kid at the time. Regardless of whether Mark felt like he was winning, Mark took the easy way out and directly took money out of Robin's pocket in doing so, which is ****** up.
