Dan from Survivor Maps has confirmed the 19th season of Survivor to take place on the island of Samoa.
Details were leaked to message boards after many vacationers were forced to relocate their hotel stay at Aggie Grey's Lagoon Resort in Apia to make room for the Survivor crew. They will be closed from June to September, in their peak season.
Samoa is located northeast of Australia as part of Polynesia, in the central South Pacific. It is just west of Fiji and Vanuatu, two other locations that Survivor has used for seasons, and is located about halfway between New Zealand and Hawaii. The series, according to one article, is set to take place west of the Faleolo International Airport, which is located about 25 miles west of Apia. Faleolo International Airport is located on the northwestern tip of the island Upolu.

The only reason this sounds strange to me is because normally the crew is housed in tents and such...but we shall see!
Some facts:
Samoa was a huge trading post for Germany, the United Kingdom, and the US in the 1800s.
Family is an integral part of life to Samoans.
Samoan dance is arguably the one area of Samoan culture that has not been touched by Western Civilization (so it'll be interesting to see if Survivor tries.)
It'll be interesting to see what kind of theme, if any in particular, they go for with this season.
