He is a smart, funny, but sometimes temperamental person who has a fear of failure. Sometimes referred to as ‘Don Juan,’ Darrell has no problem picking up girls when he is out because of his gift of gab, and ability to start a conversation with anyone. Darrell is most famous for his role on MTV’s 'Road Rules Campus Crawl,' and has continued on other 'Real World/Road Rules Challenges.' He is currently training in boxing, both as a hobby and for health and wellness. Challenges: The Gauntlet, The Inferno, The Inferno 2, Fresh Meat, The Ruins Hayward, California
The main man is back! LETS MAKE IT 5 for 5 BIG D!
The best looking man in all eighteen Challenges has finally risen from the depths of...the real world.

If this is his last I suggest that he retire with a perfect record.
Why I find him amazing I don't know.
...neither do I because he irritates the hell out of me!
He is a champion boxer
I always hear this, yet know little of his boxing past. Could someone provide so info on his career?
I always hear this, yet know little of his boxing past. Could someone provide so info on his career?
All I know is that he is a Golden Gloves boxing champion. He said it in the first episode of The Gauntlet. And he may have said something about boxing on RR Campus Crawl, but I haven't seen that season in so long and can't remember what he said, if he said anything about it. I think on the dailies site, someone said he's actually a two time Golden Gloves boxing champion.
All I know it that what happened between him and Brad caused a lot of trouble with his job. He may even have been fired. He is a 2 timegloden glove boxer.
All I know is that he is a Golden Gloves boxing champion.
Not listed here. Maybe a city or region champ? What I am getting at is he might have boxed just like I have wrestled at a competitive level, but that doesn't really hold weight today, in the present. I personally think Wes could give him a run...

What I am getting at is he might have boxed just like I have wrestled at a competitive level, but that doesn't really hold weight today, in the present. I personally think Wes could give him a run...
Yeah, I saw that as well. I guess it must have been at a state or regional level. Found this article when googling him and Golden Gloves, but this wasn't a year he won (or at least, he didn't win at this competition): http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/chronicle/archive/2001/04/01/SP119734.DTL I don't think Wes would be a shrinking violet fighting him, or get beat badly, either. He's bigger and more muscular than Darrell is, too. But just for people implying Darrell can't fight, or would stand no chance against Wes at all, it's interesting to note that Darrell is/was a boxer.
I'm thinking Darrell's "Golden Glove boxing champion" is missing a major word (as in, not national). Kind of similar to Evan's "I played hockey at Cornell" claim.
I'm thinking Darrell's "Golden Glove boxing champion" is missing a major word (as in, not national). Kind of similar to Evan's "I played hockey at Cornell" claim.
Exactly.
I love it when people embellish the truth. It's even better when you call them out on it.
I'm thinking Darrell's "Golden Glove boxing champion" is missing a major word (as in, not national). Kind of similar to Evan's "I played hockey at Cornell" claim.
OK, I looked up the first episode of The Gauntlet, and when he was introducing himself in his interview, he said, "I won the Nor Cal Golden Gloves, San Francisco Golden Gloves like, two months ago." So it wasn't him deceiving us as it was us (those of us relaying he's a Golden Gloves champion) not remembering him saying the Nor Cal and SF part. Mystery solved. Still pretty cool.
"I won the Nor Cal Golden Gloves, San Francisco Golden Gloves like, two months ago."
That clarifies things. Thanks for doing the research. I am always impressed that in the end we seem to get things right around here. ;)
[Darrell] is a champion boxer...
Wow. He's gone from boxer, to Golden Gloves winner to champion. Please someone set all of this straight.
I think on the dailies site, someone said he's actually a two time Golden Gloves boxing champion.
Maybe I should read before posting, but that's besides the point. Golden Gloves means a whole lot less than it did twenty years ago, after they stopped being purely national. They began licensing the name out so they could make money from smaller, regional shows. The amount of "Golden Gloves" winners has bloated so much since the early nineties that the quality became diluted. I'm not saying Darrell isn't a good boxer, but him being untouchable in a fight because of his Golden Gloves accomplishment is far off.
I think Darell beat Tyson back in the day. Be scared Wes.

I'm not saying Darrell isn't a good boxer, but him being untouchable in a fight because of his Golden Gloves accomplishment is far off.
I did not say that Darrell is untouchable in a fight. I did not say Darrell is more likely to beat Wes. I did not say Darrell being a [NorCal/San Francisco] Golden Gloves champion means he is one of the best boxers ever. I did not say Golden Gloves is the standard in boxing. Nor am I considering myself an expert on boxing or anything of that sort. These are the reasons why I (and other people have) brought up the fact that Darrell is a boxer who won [NorCal/San Francisco] Golden Gloves: 1. Some people think Darrell wimped out on Wes when he challenged him, and that he would never fight, so I mentioned his boxing past to show that he has done some fighting, even though it was structured fighting. 2. There are a lot of Wes fanatics (not all here) who think Wes is invincible and would easily defeat Darrell in a fight. 3. Some people may look at Wes and see he is much more muscular than Darrell and assume that he would have the upper hand on Darrell in a fight. I don't know who would win between the two, but I will say I don't think either of them are scared of each other.
I'm sure Darrell has learned to take some hits. Because Wes is more built then Darrell means nothing. They don't have a size different like CT and Adam. I know Wes has taken some hits before, but I'm sure that throughout life, Darrell has learned to take some hits more then Wes did. It seems like if they fought, it'd be like in Bully Beatdown. The big bully (even if Wes isn't a bully) who thinks he's invincible, against the person who is trained to kick some ***.
Anyone know how old Darrell is? When is his birthdate? Anywhere I can find videos on the Internet from the Gauntlet 1 and Inferno 1? Dayum, he is hawt! Hope he stays on my TV for a long while.
Don't get me wrong Darrell is a great competitor.. but I honestly dont consider him Top 5, but Top 10. I feel like he got a free ride to the finals in the Gauntlet, the Inferno, and Inferno 2. He does great in missions, but never faced an elimination in those 3 challenges.I feel like the only challenge he deserved was Fresh Meat because he did great overall and won an exile. Then in the Ruins, made a stupid situation and went home first on FM2. He should be considered the MOST OVERRATED COMPETITOR.. some people consider the challenge's best.

And overrated competitors are Wes and Derrick, both are NOT top ten all time.

And the fact that he did win these final missions says something about him. As well as, ppl remember how he fought with Brad in the ruins, but what about before that? When he went into like 4 ruins (maybe 3) and sent people home. I think that counts for something. Just because Darrel isnt the most muscular (physically) competitor like Wes or whoever, doesnt mean he isnt good. I think he's really proven himself, even his own team says he's good. (on the ruins i think). I don't hate Wes, but i also don't see what he has done more outstanding than Darrel to be called "one of the top 5" He went home some of the dumbest ways (by Cohutta in the Ruins, and in FM2). I am saying he is strong, but I think Darrel's up there with him. Just my opinion. One win can be luck, 2 can be coincidence, but 4 wins in 4 challenges. That shows not only strategy, but also strength.

He flew under the radar or no one wanted to lose to him. But once Fresh Meat 1 and Ruins came he went into 1 Exile against Derrick and won Ruins went into a couple Ruins taking out Danny and Cohutta but I think Evan and Kenny were hinting before the fight that they were going to throw Johnny under the bus so I think id D didn't DQ he would have 5 challenges under is belt. Fresh Meat 2 Kenny made an obviously dumb move because if he didn't put Darrell in a exile Jenn, Ryan would not have made it as far as they did in my opinion, the final since Carley is a bigger Casey it would have been 1st Darrell 2nd Kenny 3rd Landon 4th Jill, but i still can't confirm that final because he was taken out too early and the game would not have played out as it did.
But in the Fresh Meat 2 after show he did mention that he had a kid on the way and he would come back only if it was a single player challenge like the Duel 2 so maybe in a year or two we would see him.

Everyone knew that Wes wanted Ryan and Jenn to stay because they are weaker than going into an exile against Landon or Kenny or Darrel. To them, all of them (kenny and Wes) aggreed that the smartest move would have to been to take out Darryl first, otherwise they wouldn't stand a chance. If they didn't, its possible both of them would be sent in if Darryl won a challenge (which he is capable of doing of course) and Darryl could have beaten them. They were intimidated, so they made the smartest move... take out the biggest threat. Besides the point, I would have loved to see a finale with Darryl and Landon against each other. Btw, you're right about Carley kind being a bigger Casey (tho not as bad) however, I don''t think even that could have stopped Landon. I would still put him in 2nd in ur list. ;) (cuz he did beat Kenny, so i don't think Darryl making it to the final could change that fact)
