Before I even read her bio, I had a feeling something like rape was going to be part of her story. I want to learn more about her.
How though? Nobody even suspected that
How though? Nobody even suspected that
I did. She reminds me of someone I grew up with. Based on her attitude and the stories about her, I just had a feeling something traumatic like that happened to her

She just wants to be a star, but has no talent. So what does she do? act as ratchet as possible on TV.

OMG she is 6 feet tall? I like her even more. I'm really interested to hear about her story.

So what does she do? act as ratchet as possible on TV.
I haven't seen her since highschool but I don't think she was like that at all in high school. She never seemed desperate for attention. None of us have seen the ahow to see what she behaves so aggressively but I do think it has to do with things that have happened in her past. I think she's just not afraid to hold back or be reserved.
I thought I was really going to like her at first, but I hadn't read the rest of this thread, Now that I have I mixed feelings about her. So we'll see how she comes off on the show.
Shavonda wasn't mixed. And she was very beautiful.
Oh wow really? I was convinced she was mixed this whole time. Yes, I agree that she was beautiful. I just found her childish and selfish.
But the arguments still exist, and with video. And what is the point about Hooters? I know Hooters girls get a bad rap because of how they have to dress, but it's not like the girl is out there stripping. She waits table in short shorts.
Agreed.
I just found her childish and selfish.
Really? I always saw her as the mother figure in the house. Gave great advice.

I seriously don't believe that
I don't think the way she acts has anything to do with her past. She just wants to be a star, but has no talent. Why the hell would she be cast if there wasn't at least a remarkable feature? And why does she have to be "ratchet"? She's not running through a club with her *** out.

Hope this ends up being entertaining on television cause over twitter she just comes off as a Bad Girls Club reject that is trying to prove herself. Continually talks about smoking blunts and being a "bad ***"..... I did find it funny this morning she was tweeting about The Real World and she came right out and said the show has sucked lately (Gotta agree with her on that one!) "You asked to be entertained. You said the show sucked. So I served it. How you gonna ask for the check even before taking a bite tho"

You'd think she'd absolutely implicate herself by openly admitting to smoking weed. Her name is Nia, not Brandon.
Actually if you look through her tweets she admits to smoking weed and advocates it a lot. Even earlier this morning, less than 3 hours ago, she said she was about to smoke some Maui. Not surprising for someone her age but I still think it's cringeworthy she brags about it over twitter.
Hi. It's me again. So... Can some of y'all hop off ur soapboxes and high horses? Let Nia express herself the way she wants, instead of being the "standard cookie cutter" MTV twitter user. So what if she likes smoking weed. So what if she puts it on twitter. Hop out her *** and just enjoy the show. Peace
Ha! I do not care at all if Nia smokes weed. I am around her age bracket and live in Seattle.....believe me I am no stranger to smoking. I am not on any soap box or in any way judging her for smoking weed. I was however commenting on the image she is portraying and to me she is trying to act like a tough "Bad Girls Club" type chick and I just find it cringeworthy. If thinking she's acting obnoxious by going on and on about smoking a fatty makes me a "standard cookie cutter MTV twitter user" then I guess I'll take it.

Tyrie, as much as I like you personally, it's not a high horse or soapbox for me, it's simply a choice to separate myself from someone like Nia. At one time RW was about people exploring life choices through living, though briefly, with people from different backgrounds. Now the show is about something else and has lost its former focus only to rely on the extreme personalities and manufactured drama. For me, the enjoyment is gone thanks in large part to the silly behavior of Nia and some others.
Now I agree wholeheartedly.... But we as fans can't pick an choose what we let slide, and what we get up in arms about. Keep it 100. The real world stopped being the real world during the first Vegas season. After that there aren't many seasons that have the "7 different people from different walks of life, learning to respect each others perspectives" feel. Plus social media has taken away almost all privacy so a person might as well embrace it

Our motivations are different, as is our knowledge of the "inside story." For those who are fans, you may have a valid point. While I choose who I work in the industry based on my own analysis of their character (No Charlie Sheens or quasi-rapists for me), and am grateful for the luxury to make those choices, I wonder if fans do, in fact, choose what they "let slide" based upon their individual moral, ethical and cultural inclinations. Not a day goes by that I don't recognize that my days of embracing a far more youthful generation than my own aging one are quickly fading. I have no doubt that you are one of the most thoughtful of your own generation within the reality community, and I applaud you for it.
As someone who is hoping to become a hot commodity in the entertainment broadcasting industry, you would think she's censor herself a little more on twitter. I love her so far and don't want it to bite her in the butt. I think her tweets are entertaining, though. And didn't she admit to having someone else take the drug test for her during the finals?

Oh really? I seriously don't believe that

Really? I always saw her as the mother figure in the house. Gave great advice.
To be fair, I saw Inferno II but was only able to watch half of Philly (I haven't been able to find the rest online, which is upsetting because it was a very interesting season), so maybe if I saw the whole season, my feelings would've changed. But the way she handled the situation with Landon and her boyfriend bothered me, I thought she was immature and wasn't thinking about who she was hurting. As far as I can remember, her a Jonna are the only 2 women, out of the seasons I've watched, who really annoyed me because of how they treated their boyfriends/men at home. Ayiiia and Nany were 100% upfront and apologetic, Sahar got played, for Katelynn it was understandable, Fitz and Lacey were faithful, Janelle was hilarious, Sarah was ok... Jonna and Shavonda dogged their men on national TV, that's disrespectful lol
I mean let's be real, Nia was posting some very questionable stuff on Twitter prior to the trailer airing and now we see her hitting 3 different people in the trailer. I doubt this has anything to do with portrayal and I just don't like her so far.

But you and V1 mAN both bring about interesting points and responses.

Jonna yes, she's loose as for Shavonda she didn't dog anyone out. Landon knew what he was getting into and besides he wasn't her type or at the time didn't stand a chance with her.
This is so funny 'Real World' Spy Cam: Nia And Daisy Get To First Base In The Confessional
I don't know if any of you guys has checked out Alex's spreecast channel, but it's really interesting. She interviewed Nia a couple of times, and she said Marlon and her weren't in a relationship or anything, they're just really close and kissed for the picture.
