yeah, but would you say that you'll kill yourself if a gay man touches you?
Hyperbole (pronounced /haɪˈpɜrbəli/,[1] from ancient Greek ὑπερβολή 'exaggeration'), is a rhetorical device in which statements are exaggerated. It may be used to evoke strong feelings or to create a strong impression, but is not meant to be taken literally.
I love Ryan.
He's honest, and people don't like that about him.
When he's honest with someone they over react and cry about it.
>_<
I think he brings a lot of personality to the show.

Yeah, kind of like telling a gay person, "you people touch me and I want to kill myself." Very acceptable and very mature. Besides, he was the one who was picking a fight after that.

There's a difference between hyperbole and ignorance.

Kind of like how he cried about Knight telling him he has no nuts or Preston saying the bleach went to his head or Jemmye calling him a girl?
But I do agree, he is very good for the show.

The problem IMO was that Ryan was having an unpleasant experience and the other guy just escalated it. I think Ryan is more interesting than some of the others on the show at first blush.
Kind of interesting... After looking at his twitter account, it seems that he's not following any of his fellow cast members. Perhaps due to a falling out or some drama? Usually most of the RW kids come home and link up via social networking sites.

Makes you wonder huh we still have like 11 episodes to go so we may have that question answered.
It's obvious that he's fake and putting on a show.
But I sort of relate to him in one weird way when I was watching the Dailies... I have an ear fetish-type of thing that he does. I can't help but to play with/touch my friends ears or mine in public. :x
Exactly!
Think about it: a legitimate straight man that is confident and COMFORTABLE in his own sexuality would never react like that to a gay guy giving him a friendly kiss.
It's very evident that Ryan has some emotional issues.
One thing here...
He apparently didn't get all nuts in the bar when the guy kissed his neck... he said this outside with the group... probably a bit drunk... and he totally seems like he's the dramatic guy that tries to make everything he says seem 'outrageous' and 'shocking,' or as he would put it - 'real.'

Seems to me more like a case where he made some off the cuff comment where Preston tried to blow it out or proportion and Ryan just wanted to explain himself as not being a homophob and Prestion went all dramatic and wouldn't let him and that was what really got Ryan upset. IMO it was Preston, not Ryan, who looked like a patooty over the whole thing.

At the same time, couldn't a legitimate straight man confident and comfortable in his own sexuality still be a homophobe?

It’s just a circular trap. Those who advocate for tolerance really want acceptance/endorsement and are completely intolerant of all those who believe differently than they do. IMO, Preston was trying to say that Ryan was homophobic just because Ryan didn’t like that some guy had made an uninvited move on him.

I thought Preston was trying to say that Ryan was a homophobe because Ryan said he wanted to kill himself whenever a gay person touched him (or something to that effect).
But that's not the point I was trying to make.
Oh god here we go again. Emilee is so classless
Emilee is classless? Did you see Ryan's response to the one nice thing Emilee DID say to him?
Emilee is classless? Did you see Ryan's response to the one nice thing Emilee DID say to him?
You must really not like Ryan to be defending Emilee. lol.

No, I didn't. I apologize, I thought she started crap just like Ayiiia did
No, I didn't. I apologize, I thought she started crap just like Ayiiia did
I hope you don't start saying things about Ayiiia<3 now because if you do that would be so contradictory to your location, wouldn't it!
Are you kidding?
No, I haven't been following his tweets but in the dailies he seems nice. He just likes to start drama, probably because he's bored ****less in the house. Gives him something to do.
I'm not saying he's the nicest male on the season, because Eric probably takes that title. But compared to some of the men from past seasons, he seems nice.
