Since the construction crews are working on weekends, there is no reason to think they will not meet their shooting start date. Of course, no one actually knows what that date is. The last job notice we saw mentioned a hire date of June 21. You don't begin shooting on the crew hire date with something this complicated. The pick up crews have too much to learn. It was the DC bloggers who first mentioned June 21 as a start date. These people, of course, have no clue about have TV production works. They are simply casual bystanders, fans or haters, which does not make them informed.
On the heels of that, I wanted to clarify my last posting to S&V: by "production begins on or about June 20/21", that does not mean they actually move in and begin filming the season on that day. There's plenty of work for them to do in pre-production and in getting cranes and/or helicopters, etc. set up to do b-roll shots of the city and its purported destinations and of course the house.
There were also job listings for camera & sound guys with a start date of the 27th so maybe that is a bit closer to the actual "go" date for the cast to move into the house. Hopefully they should be up and fulling running by the first week of July if all goes as planned. Don't forget, with the Brooklyn season all sorts of scheduling changes had to be made because of unforeseen circumstances.
1) The pictures all were taken while on public property, from property not under the control of BMP, or with the approval of property owners. 2) There is no invasion of privacy. The permits issued by the government of the District of Columbia are public documents and must be displayed for public inspection. 3) vevmo.com acts to publish news. We broke the story of TRW coming to DC. The moderators of the site are part of the vevmo editorial staff. We are the journalists of this new electronic age. A reminder... In an analysis of the 2000 Federal District Court case, Green vs. CBS Broadcasting Corp., First Amendment attorney, David L. Hudson Jr., wrote the following to describe the Court's view: In the instance of MTV, control of the means of transmission is regulated under Federal Law by the FCC. Thus, the Real World is a legitimate public interest matter. The Real World house location is one of the hottest blog topics in the DC area. The mood of most bloggers is very negative, with a quickly growing twitter assemblage ready to undertake guerrilla tactics to disrupt show filming. Vevmo is the largest internet site with a decidedly pro-RW editorial policy. Franks, MTV and BMP should be actively cooperating with us to disseminate the facts.
This is why I love you guys.
Yeah, so this totally looks like the Scientology house over on Q Street. Just sayin'...

The antirealworld blogger lives in the this building diagonally across the street. I put the channel 7 news crew onto his location today, since he apparently wants the attention.
A person guarding the door. She and her cohort declined to identify themselves as working for BMP. The declination was followed by a smile and shoulder shrug... Nice people, though, and grateful that not everyone is a "hater." With this much information coming in just about the house, I suspect the cast will be identified in no time. It might even get the ratings up, lmao.
Caroline Lyders, reporter for WJLA TV (ABC) and Joe (cool camera dude) outside the RW House. Joe is shooting me with his $50,000 + camera and I'm returning the favor with my Sony mini-cam. YouTube - MVI 0235
Random fans on vacation stop by the house. on June 10th. (Wiggy will ID them shortly) They had not heard of the awesomeness of vevmo.com!
"We love the real world, we watch every season." Self described Real World "super fans" and Landon ("who's really hot") fans Miri Shirazi, Alyssa Arato, Danielle Amona and Ashley Shirazi visiting DC on a road trip from New York made a b-line to 2000 S Street NW yesterday late afternoon to catch a glimpse of the hottest address in Dupont Circle. "We read about the house in [The Washington Post Express] newspaper on the subway and just had to put the address in our GPS and come over," Miri said. "It was a complete surprise that they were here in DC," she added. The four were on their last day of DC sightseeing and were hoping they were the first to have scoped out the house. "Oh darn!" they exclaimed when I informed them they were four of several hundred gawkers in additional to television and print journalists who had made the corner of 20th and S Streets a destination. "Can we take a picture with you in front of the house for our album," they asked. Of course I obliged. Then, V1man shot the above photo. "This made our day," Arato said.
I am so jealous. The house is gorgeous - love it...
i am so jealous. the house is gorgeous - love it..
Your house was nice too, haha. At least you had a great view of the ocean. Most houses/apartments don't get that.

Our pier was littered with businesses and I can attest that our parking spaces were in the back of the lot. Granted, the street situation may be different for DC, but I feel like this is complaining for the sake of complaining. When filming starts and if a situation arises, then her complaint would be valid. Until then, however? QQ more n00b.

I guess thats because everything in DC is political. PS Congrats on the engagement Kate!!!!

Speculation of local "watchers" is that the windows were not covered to keep people from seeing inside, but so the painters could paint the house using a commercial paint sprayer. Such a simple explanation, but will the local detractors buy it? We here at vevmo will just label this as progress

This can was seen on the sidewalk at the entrance to the alley behind the RW house on the 20th Street side. Just a few minutes after I took this picture, one of the construction works who had just parked his truck noticed the can and a section of newspaper that had blown into the alley. He pickup up both on his way into the house. Nice to see... Of course, if this picture had been taken next month, the anti-RW DC group would probably have blamed the can on the late night antics of a cast member.
V, Any progress on the outside? A lot of work still needed to be done on the exterior.
V, Any progress on the outside? A lot of work still needed to be done on the exterior.
What do you think needs to be done to the exterior? The only real issue I see relates to the lights above the front porch/entrance that for now are covered with black plastic. There may also be a railing missing from the balcony/porch roof. There is a cast iron railing now on the left side of this roof, but I'm ambivalent about it being a distraction in an exterior shot of the house. A little watering of the impatiences on on the street corner side would be a good idea -- before these new plantings die.
I just had this thought from looking at their house. Production had their own separate area called "The Zone". It was FORBODEN for us cast mates. I wonder how production is going to reconcile their "cloak and dagger" antics with a brazenly open view from the outside (I'm presuming 2nd floor). Just one of those curious points of order that pops into my head every so often. :)
