Real World DC: Ep. 7 - Discussion
Mike's confusion over his sexuality increases; Ashley and Erika's insecurities cause them to butt heads; cancer girl prepares to leave.
Here we go. Take it as you will.
Whoa. She really faked cancer?

I feel like we aren't supposed to like Erika, but she doesn't bother me. LOL.

Bacchus, the episode title is "***** Begins with Bi". I don't know where you got that title.
I feel like we aren't supposed to like Erika, but she doesn't bother me. LOL.
I don't like her, but next to Ashley and Emily, she doesn't seem so bad..
Wow I really like Erika and she's the only person I actually, actively like. Is this from an episode guide from MTV? Did they really call her "cancer girl" or did a non-MTV person make this summary? EDIT: OH THERE'S AN EPISODE ON. My bad, I always watch it later.

Why do they all have to do stuff with each other?

I think Erica is being rude by saying her friends can't eat because they have to shop. It's compromise. Eat.. then shop. Just because it's "your day" doesn't mean people have to starve.

Ashley has no right to talk about anyone being a cry baby...she's always *****ing about one thing or another.

I've personally suffered much loss because of the disease. I'll change the title if the readers here believe it is unfair and I've actually asked a couple cast members their thoughts on the provocative take. That aside, Erika lied about having cancer and that is a fact. This episode in part is about said deceit although who knows if MTV will even show anything. I am going to have an open mind.
I'll change the title if the readers here believe it is unfair and I've actually asked a couple cast members their thoughts on the provocative take.
I think it's entirely appropriate. If it quacks like a duck...

I've lost half my moms side of my family to cancer and my grandfather is stage 3 right now, and I feel it's really rude to make fun of her for saying she had it when she didn't. Everyone does things they regret and shouldn't have done. Some do things that others consider worse than usual, but I still don't find any reason to keep dragging peoples past into the future. Especially when it's someone you don't know.

Why is Ashley always making **** about her?
I've lost half my moms side of my family to cancer and my grandfather is stage 3 right now, and I feel it's really rude to make fun of her for saying she had it when she didn't.
But according to her, she did. At least that's what she told everyone. Are you saying that's it's ok to say you have cancer, as long as you don't have it and apologize later on in life?
I agree Ashley always wants to be in the center of attention, she makes everything about her. I'm not sure if this thread title is supose to make me not like Erica but I still do.
Some do things that others consider worse than usual, but I still don't find any reason to keep dragging peoples past into the future.
I promise you, I am not dragging anyone's past into the future. My current time machine implementation can only move photons into the future, with the energy requirements being enormous. I have not been able to deal with the infinite hole of moving actual mass at or near the speed of light... (Although I have a few super massive stars consigned for implosion.) That cleared up, talking about the issue that defines someone in the present who has decided to share their life with the world via a reality television show is not beyond the context in which discussion is formed here.
I'm not sure if this thread title is supose to make me not like Erica but I still do.
We don't try to persaude members to feel a certain way. It merely says "Cancer Girl". You are free to feel as you'd like.
No, I'm not saying lying about cancer is ok. I'm saying making fun of someone for doing it is just stupid and rude. I really like Erika no matter what mistakes she has made cause I've done stuff almost just as bad. It's just something I understand more so than anyone here I guess.
No, I'm not saying lying about cancer is ok. I'm saying making fun of someone for doing it is just stupid and rude.
So what you are saying is people should be able to do the most horrific things without the review or thoughts from peers. Sounds like a perfect world to me. One where people keep making the same mistakes.

It's just something I understand more so than anyone here I guess.
I guess so, because I've never done anything as selfish as that and the thought of lying about having a terminal disease is ridiculously pathetic to me.
She deserves to get "made fun of".
If you lie about having cancer for attention, you deserve to get called out on it. If you lie about having cancer for attention and then go on The Real World, you deserve to get made fun of even more.
Why should this even be talked about in here if it's not going to be brought up on the show is what I'm trying to figure out? Eh, oh well.
Ok, well I'm not going to try to make a point anymore about it since everyone is obviously so set in their opinions to see anything else. Of course not everyone will understand everything about the lives of others because then life would be boring.
