Of the multiple stories I've read about the movies over the past couple of weeks there may have not been one that stated explicitly "The film will be released nationwide on (insert date here)" but an educated inference could be made that it would. The writing is on the wall. Every other commercial break last night there was a tv spot. Studios don't burn that kind of marketing money for a limited release. So arguing whether it will get a nationwide release is moot anyways.
I wasn't arguing that it won't get a nationwide release. You said it already has, which it hasn't.
Actually if you go back in the thread I never said "nationwide" I said "wider release". The link I provided never said nationwide either so my bad i guess. But all the evidence - every story, every ad, etc. - all point to an eventual nationwide release. This is one of those cases where 1 + 1 does in fact = 2. Its moot to argue all of this. But I will concede and mail you your Interwebz Prize if we can get back on topic.

Anyway, the counter is at 700,000 now, so I'm guessing it will open up nationwide next Friday. The way it's been going is 100,000 everyday, so by atleast Monday I think it will hit 1,000,000. I have to admit, it was very clever, and the buzz is definately out there. By the time it does hit nationwide, everyone will want to go see what is with the: sold out showings, standing in line for 3 hours, scariest thing since Exorcist fuss is about. Just in time for Halloween too. Im kinda conflicted because on one hand, I could drive 1hr 30 min tomorrow to go see it. I REALLY want to see this. Or, I could wait a week and "hope" that once it hits 1,000,000 they will release it nationwide the following week and not delay it.
I drove 90 min to see this yesterday. It opens up nationwide starting this Thursday.... Go.See.This.Now.
Saw this last night and I came away a bit letdown. Perhaps I had my hopes too high. But I encourage everyone to see if for themselves and make up their own minds.

Too many depend on loud music to try to scare you. The best two parts were...
When she was being dragged away and Micah ran after her. All you could hear was screaming, you couldn't tell what was going on. Second, was when Katie finally become "possessed" by the demon, and she was laying on the bed staring at the camera with that evil smile.
Definitely want to see this movie but it isn't showing near me I don't think.
I keep checking listings week after week, and so far, nothing close to me.
I keep checking listings week after week, and so far, nothing close to me.
It's opening nationwide this Friday. They will announce the theaters tomorrow.
It's opening nationwide this Friday. They will announce the theaters tomorrow.
AMAZING. This is fantastic news!
Trumbull, CT! Going on Friday. SCORE! Thanks for the heads up, Gucc'!
Just saw it. HOLY ****. So scary man. I knew nothing about it, and I walked away very, very pleased and quite creeped out. That movie just made Blair Witch its *****. I want to see it again, but I honestly don't know if I can do it yet haha There were minutes when I stopped breathing, and my heart was racing! The suspension was MONEY. A+.

She is going to see it again tonight, LOL.
I thought it was good. It started kinda slow though. The best part of the experience for me was the fact that there was a group above me and my friend and a group behind us that were freaking out. During several parts, my friend and I broke out into hysteria b/c the people in front of us were that funny. The guys behind us were the typical jocks and they almost peed their pants. If you go to see this movie, drag someone that is scared of everything and it will make the experience 100X better.
Yeah, it was pretty good. You can tell it was made by the same people who made The Blair Witch Project, because it has that same twist to it. A very freaky movie to go see if especially if you get scared easily. It'll def make you want to sleep with the lights on..lol.
Uh, no it's not. It's just shot in the same style.
What makes these two films different besides the plot? IMO the styles are very similar.
What makes these two films different besides the plot? IMO the styles are very similar.
The only thing the two films have in common is that they were made for pennies and used hand-held cameras. Other than that, the writers/directors/actors and everything else are entirely different.
I saw this movie Saturday at midnight, and I have to say I have seen just about every scary movie, but this one was by far the scariest. I was terrified. In the beginning, yes, it was a little slow but it got better. There were times where my heart stopped beating and I thought I was going to pass out. VERY SCARY MOVIE GO SEE IT

Paranormal Activity was the number one movie in the box office this weekend. That is pretty good considering it has technically been out since September.
Just got back from seeing Paranormal Activity 3. It's horrible. More funny than scary.
