Saw this last night and I came away a bit letdown. Perhaps I had my hopes too high. But I encourage everyone to see if for themselves and make up their own minds.
I agree it wasn't as scary as they made it seem....but still better than most horror movies nowadays. Too many depend on loud music to try to scare you.
The best two parts were...
When she was being dragged away and Micah ran after her. All you could hear was screaming, you couldn't tell what was going on. Second, was when Katie finally become "possessed" by the demon, and she was laying on the bed staring at the camera with that evil smile.

I keep checking listings week after week, and so far, nothing close to me.
It's opening nationwide this Friday. They will announce the theaters tomorrow.

Just saw it.
HOLY ****. So scary man. I knew nothing about it, and I walked away very, very pleased and quite creeped out.
That movie just made Blair Witch its *****.
I want to see it again, but I honestly don't know if I can do it yet haha There were minutes when I stopped breathing, and my heart was racing! The suspension was MONEY. A+.

My little sister just watched it last night and came away traumatized, when I picked her up she was as white as a ghost...then she tried to get me to sleep with her last night, she settled for my dog Killer. She is going to see it again tonight, LOL.
I thought it was good. It started kinda slow though.
The best part of the experience for me was the fact that there was a group above me and my friend and a group behind us that were freaking out. During several parts, my friend and I broke out into hysteria b/c the people in front of us were that funny. The guys behind us were the typical jocks and they almost peed their pants. If you go to see this movie, drag someone that is scared of everything and it will make the experience 100X better.
Yeah, it was pretty good. You can tell it was made by the same people who made The Blair Witch Project, because it has that same twist to it. A very freaky movie to go see if especially if you get scared easily. It'll def make you want to sleep with the lights on..lol.

Uh, no it's not. It's just shot in the same style.

What makes these two films different besides the plot? IMO the styles are very similar.

The only thing the two films have in common is that they were made for pennies and used hand-held cameras. Other than that, the writers/directors/actors and everything else are entirely different.
I saw this movie Saturday at midnight, and I have to say I have seen just about every scary movie, but this one was by far the scariest. I was terrified.
In the beginning, yes, it was a little slow but it got better. There were times where my heart stopped beating and I thought I was going to pass out.
VERY SCARY MOVIE
GO SEE IT
I'm on my way to see this right now. I'm such a chicken. I just know I'll cry myself to sleep tonight. lol
My sister saw it (she's 21) and she was TERRIFIED. She had to call me later that night because she couldn't sleep. Happy watching!! :D
Paranormal Activity was the number one movie in the box office this weekend. That is pretty good considering it has technically been out since September.
