A couple of friends of mine in other countries saw Iron Man 2 yesterday and said it was awesome. It played in Australia and the Netherlands. They both called it a hell of a ride that will keep you buzzing after the film is over. There is some stuff done to help build for the Avengers film and as always stay after the credits.

I'm glad they are building up to the Avengers film, I think there's Thor and Captain America coming out next year, so that should be awesome.
It's a bummer that Angelina Jolie won't be in Wanted 2, but I'm looking forward to her new action flick, Salt, this summer.
Salt does look good, especially since she did almost all her own stunts like a daredevil. With Kenneth Brannagh directing, Thor should be very good. Chris Evans will have to tone down the charm to play Captain America but the Avengers film is coming together nicely too.
Chris Evans is playing Captian America really? That is awful casting, as he looks nothing like the captian they should have cast an unknown such as Jon Foster who is on accidentally on purpose or Ryan McPartlin from Chuck.
He won the role and it will require him to dull down his charm for being the smartass. If it was done 10 years ago, Mark Valley would have been ideal. But there was no one with the resume, look, build, draw, and overall ability that Marvel felt comfortable with other Chris Evans. I think he has the ability but the question is whether or not he actually choose to act it as opposed to his usual skate by.

Of the things you listed the things he has is draw and somewhat resume. His resume is okay I guess, I just don't get the decision as Captian America is huge and Chris doesn't have the build but I guess they may use cgi. If they wanted to take this route they mine as well taken Paul Walker though as he is a better draw and actually looks more like captian america. This picking will actually make me not see it as he has never done a good movie role I have seen from him. The people I suggested would have been better or Chris Pine to me would have been good also. Picking Chris Evans is a cop out as he has worked with marvel movies for years not a good decision.
When it comes to Captain America... I'm on Team Tatum :) He's the only one of the guys who seems to have the overall size. However.. If Toby Macguire can be Spider Man.. I guess Chris Evans can be Captain America.
Chris Evans was considered the best choice by Marvel. Chris Pine did not make the cut and I'm not sure they consider Paul Walker at all.
Have you seen every movie role Evans as done? ... he has a few that blow you away but lately he has been acting on his charm & looks without as much difficulty. He did a film in London a few years back with Jessica Biel and Jason Statham that was actually very good and he ACTED in it. He didn't phone it in like the film Cellular or just be himself like he was in the Fantastic Four films.
A friend of mine's wife was hit on by Evans once and apparently he was definitely not acting in the FF films as his ego is that big.

I don't think Tatum auditioned. He does have the size, the build, and the athleticism. But after GI Joe and his lack of real acting ability being counted against him, I'm not surprised that Marvel did not consider him.
Whoever plays Cap has to have the promise of potential to carry the film by themselves and Evans has more it than Tatum. Just a fact.
This is another example of bad casting by Marvel. 1st they casted Toby Macguire for spider man. 2. They cast Topher Grace as Venom which was I think the biggest mistake I have ever seen in a superhero movie and why the reboot is happening. 3. Now Chris Evans, I know this is who they want but it's still bad casting and is reason enough to not watch. As for seeing his recent work no I have not as I don't have any entition on wasting any more time watching his movies. I thought as the first after hearing this that they only cast him because of fantastic 4.
I never watched Topher Grace as Venom but I thought Tobey Maguire did fine as Parker/Spidey. His slight build was actually helpful to him playing the role and bringing believability despite being in his mid-to-late 20s at the time.

Count yourself lucky topher grace is adequate at best in most of his roles and he really didn't bring anything acting wise. As for his size he is pretty much the only guy I can think of who is smaller than tobey and they choose him? Venom is significantly bigger than tobey and so it didn't make sense. I personally was in the camp that Jake would have made a great Spiderman and actually been believable though hopefully soon he will get to be a superhero as well. As for the reboot I'm hoping for Josh Hutcherson to play spiderman. He kind of looks like him and definately has the acting ability to pull it off.

I'm going to take a wait-and-see stance with this one... almost nobody saw RDJ coming and that turned out pretty well!

I don't want to say I definitely did but I knew he could do the role justice. He always had the comedic timing for it and could do everything he needed to for it. What surprised me was how he surpassed what I thought he would do with it. Sure beats who would have done it 10 yrs ago if he got his wish -- Tom Cruise.
I do believe it is late 2011 or Summer 2012 -- just in time for the end of the world to follow in December... lol
LOL. I don't think I'll even watch the Thor movie but the Avengers movie sounds interesting so far.
Tom Cruise.
That would've been tragic.
It was nixed fairly quickly... Tom should not have done and thankfully did not. Although he is cheesy enough, I could see him playing a supervillain at some point.

My vote is for Return of the C**k-Knocker.

I am with you all the way on the Tatum love :)
Now I am not a huge Captain America fan, so I am not sure what he is supposed to look like. I think a large pecentage of the viewers are in the same boat. I really liked Chris Evans in the movie Push, with Dakota Fanning. I do think with enough work he could really own this role, on the other hand he could totally suck ***.
I could not stand Tobey MacGuire in the Peter Parker role, maybe because he will eternaly have the face of a 3 yr old. The first one was alright, cool to see those characters again. The second was just bad, ugh the third. When he did his little dancing scene in the movie, I puked in my mouth a little. Topher Grace as Venom? I would really get a kick out of knowing whose wise idea it was to cast I
him in that role, epic fail.
I liked Tobey Maguire as Spider-man, but I think he was getting older for the role. Was kind of disappointed that Sony revamped the series, the reboot is supposed to be released on July 3rd, 2012. I know next year I will have my super-hero fix with movies like Thor, Green Lantern and Captain America.
There only like 6 or 7 movies that I want to see this summer, but next summer looks more promising...
Just saw that Nighmare on Elm Street remake. It was even worse then I thought it was going to be.
Then again aren't you're very hard to please, Amazing? There has to be at least something you liked. Or you're a loyalist to the original.
No well, I actually never saw the first one. I mainly went because of a bunch of people wanted to go and see it and so I just went for that reason only. I really honestly had low expectations. I knew Micheal Bay was a producer and that this would in fact be there ninth movie created. Still I found it quite predictable and Freddy came off really weak from his (backstory). I guess I found it more awkward then scary though it did at least have some good visual effects and the settings were good.
