Another win for the Rangers.
Of course, it doesn't matter. The "*****" (thanks Aereas) are the best team in the AL (well, best financed, at the very least) and they will lose to the Phillies (I hope.)
Wish the rangers could have got a win at home, but they played horrible both games. But the good news is the rays played just as bad at home and cliff lee will be on the mound. Still think we will get the job done.

Good man! LOL
I really think that Texas can take out the "*****."

That is assuming quite a lot, especially the way the series has shifted - dramatically in favor of The Rays. Lee might have had a good last start, but Price beats him across the board for the year on a straight up statistical comparison and I have a feeling he will bring his A game.
After that, Yankee's in 5 over the Rays...

Price may bring his "A" game, but so will Lee. I will take Lee in the playoffs over price any day of the week.
Yeah it is the fist they have won. They have only been in the playoffs 3 or 4 times
And they've been a team for almost 50 years?
Yeah it is pretty sad that this is the first time they have won a series. They played the yankees 3 times in the 1st round during the yankees run in the late 90s.
At least George Bush can do something right. LOL
Bush's ties to the Rangers are long gone...they were well before he became President. In any event, I'm happy they won, because I think the Rays fans suck. You would never see ******* cowbells at Fenway Park, because we know how to make noise during big games without using annoying props. Though their couple years of success was cute, I'm looking forward to the Rays' inevitable descent back into obscurity. As for the Rangers, I hope they beat the Yankees, and wouldn't mind seeing them go all the way. At this point, as long as the Yankees don't take it, I'll be satisfied enough.
Cliff Lee > david price
CC Sabathia > Cliff Leff
Congrats on moving to the Championship series, although you know what comes next - right? :wink2:
I'm happy they won, because I think the Rays fans suck.
They totally suck. Cowbells don't belong at baseball games and honestly baseball doesn't belong in a "gym" with catwalks and fake grass.
The worst part about Ray's fans? They don't show up for their team.
Tampa Bay WON the AL East - yet only averaged 52.6% capacity with 23,024 fans a game. If you took the Yankee/Red Sox games out of that average it would be even more discouraging being those games generally had more opposing fans than Rays fans.
p.s. The Sox averaged 37,610 fans (or 100.9% capacity) and they were out of the race two months ago. They have the smallest stadium in baseball, yet sold the 8th most tickets.
Fine. You're right.
And he is going to look awesome in a Red Sox uniform next year!
I would rather see him in a red sox uniform than a yankees uniform. I hope the rangers can find a way to keep him but thats wishful thinking

The only way they'd be able to keep him is to put themselves in another A-Rod situation where half the team's payroll was devoted to his salary.
They might do it, but I am not sure if that would be a good thing for the future of the team.
If the Red Sox can move Dice-K (many think they will) then I suspect he will be at the top of their acquisition list over the winter, along with Crawford.

I dont want to see them do what they did with a-rod ever again. As good as Lee is, he is 32 and investing a large portion of the payroll to him would be a mistake for the long term future. It will be interesting to see what this new ownership is willing to spend, we do need to keep Josh Hamilton and find a solid pitcher who can stay healthy unlike the bum we signed last offseason in rich harden.

He's making $9,000,000 now (with $4 million left when he was traded but because the Rangers were in bankruptcy they got an additional $2.5 million from Seattle and were only on the hook for $1.5 million.) He is going to want something more than Burnett/Lackey - but at the same time willing to accept less than Sabathia.
My guess would be in the $18-22 million a year range over 4-5 years.
