Raisman with a 14.333 on bars.
Komova scores a big 15.966 on bars.
14.033 for Ferrari from Italy. As someone who qualified top 6, she's quickly falling out of it.
14.266 for Deng Linlin. Not that good.
The Russians strike again - a huge 16.1 from Mustafina.
Great set from Gabby, but it's no 16.1; she scores a solid 15.733.
So Gabby still up after 2 rotations, but just barely.
It's going to be a close race! The Russians really look like they are out for redemption.
I gave up on the NBC feed and found a CTV one. Not as clear but it hasn't frozen or skipped on me yet!
Oh and how about those braids on Poland's Marta Pihan-Kulesza? Snazzy!
15.441 for Komova.
Mustafina falls off beam!
Ouch - 13.633 for Mustafina.
15.5 for Gabby Douglas!! For someone who supposedly isn't good at beam - that was huge.
Bad beam routine from Raisman, likely putting her out of gold contention...
14.2 for Raisman. Mustafina opened the door for her, and she blew it. Gonna be a close battle on floor.
Linlin up first on floor for those in contention for a medal.
13.933 for Deng. Mustafina up next.
A solid 14.6 for Mustafina. It's Gabby time...
A stuck routine for Gabby Douglas!!!
A 15.033 for Douglas. Komova needs to go HUGE if she wants gold.
Raisman needs to score 15.133 for the bronze.
Komova needs 15.36 to pass Douglas for gold.
Douglas finishes with a 62.232.
Raisman scores 15.133 which TIES her with Mustafina for third!
Komova with a seriously solid routine. This is going to be close...
A 15.1 FOR KOMOVA!!! Gold for Gabby Douglas!!!
Raisman loses a tiebreaker to Mustafina and finishes fourth :(
Douglas 62.232
Komova 61.973
Mustafina/Raisman 59.566
So despite Raisman scoring higher on three of four events than Mustafina, she gets fourth. Such a shame...and another reason why I hate the subjective scoring of gymnastics. Give the bronze to both.

Do we even know how they decide the tiebreaker? The commentators didn't even know the rules! Very frustrating.
Final results...

Raisman loses the bronze based on cumulative execution scores.

Lame. I'm pretty sure the tiebreaker used to be qualifying scores which would have given Aly the bronze. I wish they just gave it to both athletes.

From what I read, they did execution scores, then something else (maybe qualifying scores?) and then if they were still tied they gave both the bronze.

I was hoping that he failed to beat Phelps, but still win a silver for the USA. Worked out just fine! :D
Tyler Clary extends the University of Michigan's medal streak to 100 years...
It's no USC streak, but still something to be proud of!
EDIT: Technically, I guess Vanderkaay did it first, but Clary is the first to win gold this Olympics.
Wow, I just saw the medal count. The US is raking them in today.

The USA men's basketball team hits 29 threes and wins in a barn burner over Nigeria, 156-73...:yikes:
Now, back to the rest of the Olympics...:popcorm2:
The Roger Federer and del Potro match..wow just wow...Federer really is the greatest of all time. I hope he beats Djokovic/Murray again..though I think it will be very difficult to do since both of those guys are looking for revenge against Federer and after his marathon match today. Some great tennis the last couple of days..first Tsonga and his very long and grueling match and now today.

C'mon, B! Everybody cool pees their pants!
Serena vs Sharapova in the Gold final! This was my dream match up for Wimbledon, and it's going to be an epic battle!! I can't wait to see it! I hope Serena brings home the Gold! She just needs to have faith, focus, and patience!
Take it one point at a time, a game at a time, and a set at a time. If she brings the focus like she did against Azarenka (worlds current #1 player, Serena defeated her 6-1 6-2) today, than she will be in great shape!
Serena got the gold!!! And then again in doubles with Venus!! The Bryan twins got their first gold medal, good showing in tennis by the U.S.
I am so happy for Andy Murray, beating Federer 2, 1, and 4 to win the gold!!! And then getting silver in mixed. I hope he carries this momentum into the U.S. hardcourt swing.
