Producer, I would also like to point out that one of the songs they keep playing during the Primetime showing of the Olympics is Phillip Phillips "Home." I'm sure he's making way more money this year than what's her face ;)
Producer, I would also like to point out that one of the songs they keep playing during the Primetime showing of the Olympics is Phillip Phillips "Home." I'm sure he's making way more money this year than what's her face ;)
LMAO Well 1) I doubt he's making any money out of it, considering he doesn't own the song or the master, maybe if he's lucky he get's a few hundreds for the song placement. 2) I actually really like that song (as much as I try to hate it) 3) Jessica Sanchez is booked for more events so she is obviously making more money. 4) Jessica hasn't released an official single, give it time, it will be a hit ;) Sorry for going out of topic, but either way, it's awesome seeing the USA Women Gymnastic team dominate! I regret spoiling myself in the last hour or 2 :(....will focus myself in not looking at any spoilers tomorrow!
That notifier is working great!
A great way to start the day! Top 6 qualifiers from all-around qualifying: Viktoria Kornova - Russia Aly Raisman - USA Gabby Douglas - USA Aliya Mustafina - Russia Deng Linlin - China Vanessa Ferrari - Italy Gabby and Aly are starting on vault.
PS if you can't watch live, this has been a great source of updates.
15.966 for Gabby Douglas on her vault. 15.9 for Aly Raisman. The top qualifier, Komova from Russia, scores a 15.466 after stepping out of bounds and off the mat on her landing. 15.233 for the other Russian, Mustafina. Her vault was less difficult than the two Americans and the other Russian.
Next up is the uneven bars.
After one rotation: 1 Douglas 15.966 2 Raisman 15.900 3 Komova 15.466 4 Mustafina 15.233 5. Seitz 15.166 6. Qiushuang 15.133 7. Linlin 14.900 8. Ferlito 15.766 Gabby and Aly both look ridiculously focused.

Raisman with a 14.333 on bars. Komova scores a big 15.966 on bars. 14.033 for Ferrari from Italy. As someone who qualified top 6, she's quickly falling out of it. 14.266 for Deng Linlin. Not that good. The Russians strike again - a huge 16.1 from Mustafina. Great set from Gabby, but it's no 16.1; she scores a solid 15.733. So Gabby still up after 2 rotations, but just barely.
After 2: 1. Douglas 31.699 2. Komova 31.432 3. Mustafina 31.333 4. Raisman 30.233 5. Qiushuang 29.266 6. Iordache 29.199 7. Linlin 29.166 8. Seitz 28.966 Next up is beam...
It's going to be a close race! The Russians really look like they are out for redemption. I gave up on the NBC feed and found a CTV one. Not as clear but it hasn't frozen or skipped on me yet! Oh and how about those braids on Poland's Marta Pihan-Kulesza? Snazzy!
Ouch - Hannah Whelan does a faceplant and scores a 0 on her vault...
15.441 for Komova. Mustafina falls off beam! Ouch - 13.633 for Mustafina. 15.5 for Gabby Douglas!! For someone who supposedly isn't good at beam - that was huge. Bad beam routine from Raisman, likely putting her out of gold contention... 14.2 for Raisman. Mustafina opened the door for her, and she blew it. Gonna be a close battle on floor.
After 3: 1. Douglas 47.199 2. Komova 46.873 3. Mustafina 44.966 4. Linlin 44.466 5. Raisman 44.433 6. Izbasa 43.500 7. Qiushuang 43.199 8. Ferrari 43.133 Last 3 to perform on floor: Douglas, Raisman, Komova.
Linlin up first on floor for those in contention for a medal. 13.933 for Deng. Mustafina up next. A solid 14.6 for Mustafina. It's Gabby time... A stuck routine for Gabby Douglas!!! A 15.033 for Douglas. Komova needs to go HUGE if she wants gold. Raisman needs to score 15.133 for the bronze. Komova needs 15.36 to pass Douglas for gold. Douglas finishes with a 62.232. Raisman scores 15.133 which TIES her with Mustafina for third! Komova with a seriously solid routine. This is going to be close... A 15.1 FOR KOMOVA!!! Gold for Gabby Douglas!!! Raisman loses a tiebreaker to Mustafina and finishes fourth :(
Douglas 62.232 Komova 61.973 Mustafina/Raisman 59.566 So despite Raisman scoring higher on three of four events than Mustafina, she gets fourth. Such a shame...and another reason why I hate the subjective scoring of gymnastics. Give the bronze to both.

The commentators didn't even know the rules! Very frustrating.
Final results... Raisman loses the bronze based on cumulative execution scores.
Raisman loses the bronze based on cumulative execution scores.
Lame. I'm pretty sure the tiebreaker used to be qualifying scores which would have given Aly the bronze. I wish they just gave it to both athletes.

That's 2 world records for Rebecca Soni!
Am I the only one hoping Lochte fails miserably?
Olympic record for Tyler Clary!! Well deserved for a guy who's been in Lochte's shadow for so long when it comes to the backstroke.
