Allison Schmitt just dominated to 200 free with Missy just missing out on the bronze by .01.
**** streaming died on me again. :(
Damn streaming died on me again. :(
Died on me too, probably because 2:49 was the start time for the men's race :(
Everyone's talking about Phelps, but Tyler Clary is a great racer as well and shouldn't be counted out.
Is it just me or does Phelps have different colored headphones every race?
Streaming is absolutely screwed for me. I sign in, it starts to load and then kicks me out to the "choose your provider" screen. I even tried getting a temporary pass and 2 seconds later it said my pass had expired. I've tried both chrome and firefox with the exact same results. I hate NBC. I really do...
Reminds me of last Olympics when Phelps out-touched the other guy... I wonder how many times they can say "rookie mistake".

One thing I've noticed that they don't seem to show in the prime time recap is the medal ceremonies. And for some reason, when they do it on the NBC feed, the national anthems are muffled.
And there it is...history.
And there it is...history.
They had that updated on wikipedia about 2 seconds after the race. I'm impressed (with both wikipedians and Michael Phelps!) BTW: A cool chrome app for setting medal event reminders.
Phelps still has the 200 Meter Individual Medley, 100 Meter Butterfly and 4x100 Meters Medley Relay, so he could add to his total. I want to see a picture of him wearing all his medals at once! ;)
They had that updated on wikipedia about 2 seconds after the race. I'm impressed (with both wikipedians and Michael Phelps!)
You know the page had been fully edited for minutes and was the editor was just waiting to hit send!
I want to see a picture of him wearing all his medals at once! ;)
They did an interview with him recently, and I think he said he doesn't know where one of them is, and he said he's never had them all out at once. It's funny that, compared to the other three, Lochte looks tiny. Then you see that he's 6'2.
Whoever's doing the commentary got it right. There's legends, and then there's Phelps. It's unfortunate, really, that Lochte swam at the same time. 8 years earlier or later, he'd have the potential to be the king. But he's nowhere close...
They did an interview with him recently, and I think he said he doesn't know where one of them is, and he said he's never had them all out at once.
Let's hope it was a bronze! Haha.
Man, the Spain fans at the men's volleyball match are not happy!
Man, the Spain fans at the men's volleyball match are not happy!
Missed it. What happened?
I only saw the last match but there was a call near the end where Spain thought USA did an illegal move but the refs said it was in the same motion and not a double touch. This allowed them to reach match point and eventually win the game. I don't know if other calls were made earlier that they also didn't agree with but the crowd was very loud in showing their displeasure.

Yeah I was going to wait for prime time, but I'm a sucker for spoilers (just like the challenge). USA Women Gymnastic team DESTROYED the competition! It wasn't even close! A 5 full points, is like a 50 point lead in Basketball! BTW USA Basketball team is too awesome! I love watching them play! Talk about multiple highlight moments! USA did get that point by refs (in beach volleyball) against Spain, but I'm happy, a win is a win haha
Producer, I would also like to point out that one of the songs they keep playing during the Primetime showing of the Olympics is Phillip Phillips "Home." I'm sure he's making way more money this year than what's her face ;)

I regret spoiling myself in the last hour or 2 :(....will focus myself in not looking at any spoilers tomorrow!
That notifier is working great!
A great way to start the day! Top 6 qualifiers from all-around qualifying: Viktoria Kornova - Russia Aly Raisman - USA Gabby Douglas - USA Aliya Mustafina - Russia Deng Linlin - China Vanessa Ferrari - Italy Gabby and Aly are starting on vault.
PS if you can't watch live, this has been a great source of updates.
15.966 for Gabby Douglas on her vault. 15.9 for Aly Raisman. The top qualifier, Komova from Russia, scores a 15.466 after stepping out of bounds and off the mat on her landing. 15.233 for the other Russian, Mustafina. Her vault was less difficult than the two Americans and the other Russian.
Next up is the uneven bars.
After one rotation: 1 Douglas 15.966 2 Raisman 15.900 3 Komova 15.466 4 Mustafina 15.233 5. Seitz 15.166 6. Qiushuang 15.133 7. Linlin 14.900 8. Ferlito 15.766 Gabby and Aly both look ridiculously focused.
