At the moment my only theory is that it's hunter, the jealous ex boyfriend.
Man, you guys are all getting sucked in by the blatant path that the writers are sending us down! It is never that guy. It is always the other guy! Anyway, I'm moving Jimmy to the top of my list.
Come on guys, get with the program. It's obviously the flower girl.
Well....she has something to do with it. She knows the killer(s) well as he is talking to her about stuff. That is what makes me think the groom is a suspect.
The flower girl is the bride's niece, right? I was thinking Abby's ex boyfriend (whatever his name is) is the one to look for.
I was thinking Abby's ex boyfriend (whatever his name is) is the one to look for.
That is Jimmy. And yes, he is a killer. Remember how he jumped in to help untangle the line from the boat in the beginning while his buddy was saying that he was too nice? Well, he knew what was causing the problem which was his true motivation for offering to help. He was then able to free it without exposing the head that was also under there... The only loophole would be that he was already on the island when the boat arrived so he must not have been involved in that particular murder, which is true because his partner did it! Yes, there are two killers. I know it. (Ok, not really - but it is my working theory.)
Maybe Jimmy's Partner is the grooms brother. He was washing blood off his hands in the bathroom last episode!
It was the butler in the library!
It was the butler in the library!
But with what weapon!? :new_shocked:
Oh snap...anyone watch tonight's episode?
Oh snap...anyone watch tonight's episode?
watching now!!!
Daddy's slowly creeping to the top of my list...
Whoa! Interesting ending. The flower girl seriously creeps me the eff out.
Daddy's slowly creeping to the top of my list...
Hmm, it would seem that daddy was the only one we are 100% sure walked away from the boat. It would seem we could rule him out as the killer of Hunter (although he could have paid someone to do it or been involved in another way.)
Harper's Island was banished to Saturday. Update your DVR settings (if you do not have a name based system.) http://tvbythenumbers.com/2009/04/29/harpers-island-dvr-success-is-a-myth-it-was-banished-to-saturday-due-to-low-ratings/17713 I'll still be watching!
Ok so I just watched all 3 episodes online and I am addicted! I love this kind of murder mystery stuff. Right now I am leaning towards the English boyfriend, Cal I think. Not only was he left alive after hanging in the trap but they had that shot to the "made by" tag at the end of the 3rd episode that said it was made in London. So there must be some type of connection between him and the murders. I do think it might be a duo type thing too though. Also, I don't know if this is relevant or anything, but the article cut out the sheriff found just repeated the same 3 paragraphs over and over. I figured it just might be the props guys not wanting to write a whole fake article, but you've got to think that people are going to pause and read the article especially if they show the close up with the red writing! Then the part in bold saying that now that the Sheriff killed John Wakefield that his motives would never be known. That seems like a little bit of a hint to try and figure out what led him to kill people and those people in particular. Then with Hunters death I wonder whose bag that was on the boat with the money and the gun? Does anyone recognize the bag from somewhere else? It makes me think that maybe Hunter wasn't the expected target that it was supposed to be the person who the bag belonged to but he got in the boat first. That's it for now I think, more things to ponder...

It was banished to Saturday due to low ratings I'll still be watching!
Ouch...looks like it'll be a Sunday morning watch for me :) Does the switch have anything to do with the ratings?
Does the switch have anything to do with the ratings?
It always does. :D They were at one time hoping to spin this format out to multiple seasons with a new "island" per say in each year. But, that was canned last week and with low ratings they decided to just burn the rest of the episodes off on Saturdays.

They did a British version of it, The Murder Game, that was also great.
Thought this was a neat interview with the exec. producer. Gives us some things to think about... 'Harper's Island' exclusive: Exec producer Jon Turteltaub previews tonight's episode | PopWatch Blog | EW.com I am excited for tonight! I will actually be watching it live since I have basically locked myself in my apt until my project turn in on the 10th.

Anyway, it's almost on! Finally!
Did anyone else catch that teaser that was like "You've seen the clues...you know who the victims are.."? I don't have DVR so I couldn't re-watch it but I was wondering if anyone else got to pause it and see what the "clues" were? I only caught that plaque I mentioned before about something being made in London on the boat Hunter got killed on. Alos, there was a number 8 I think, but that is all I remember. So do we think Booth actually died? Do we think he shot himself or someone else lurking in the woods shot him? Things are changing, people are starting to know that others are dying whether they think it is a killer or not. It's getting good!
I have missed the past two episodes, so I am behind. I am going to watch them right now.
It's more of a possibilty that someone was lurking in the woods and shot him.
I agree. When I saw where he was shot, I was like NO WAY did he shoot himself! I think it was more of a move that the killer(s) made to disguise their murders for a little longer. Besides Booth, of the people known to be dead by the guests one was made to look like a suicide and the other is at the bottom of a lake after being thought to have left the island.
Yikes, the ratings dropped by half...
Harper's Island - 4.560 million viewers, 3.1/6 HH, 1.0/3 A18-49
Well, that should be expected when you send a show to Saturday night. Heck, Dollhouse would kill for those numbers!
That's too bad, but really it's expected with the move. At least it has already been said that they will air all the episodes whether or not it is renewed. Did you watch the new episode yet? I want to know what people thought!
Did you watch the new episode yet? I want to know what people thought!
I saw it. I enjoyed it, but I am not sure what I think! There is just too much going on at this point and not enough points of resolution to draw conclusions. As was stated in that interview link that was posted earlier in this thread, I guess the first 5 episodes are all about the characters and then stuff really starts happening. Also, It said that the killer might not even be introduced yet and that picture they used of John Wakefield in the newspaper was someone I recognized as an actor, so I am quite sure he will be showing up! That throws off all my other predictions. My hope right now is that things are not chalked up to supernatural reasons. I want the real deal and I want to be able to look back and see how it all happened logically.
Did you watch the new episode yet? I want to know what people thought!
Haven't watched it yet...I will probably get around to it when I get home!
It is really too bad not more people got hooked. I think it is one of the best new series this season (well, that isn't saying much, lol.) At least we will get to see the full run on CBS Saturdays.
I agree. I would have liked to see it continue and have a different murder mystery to figure out each season. Truthfully I don't think their promo's were that intriguing. I wouldn't have even tuned in if it wasn't for this thread and you all saying it was actually quite good. I had to catch up online too because I missed the first few episodes. I am leaning more and more towards Jimmy? Abbie's ex having something to do with it, just because he has the whole super nice guy thing going and I feel like they are building up to him having this evil side. But I do think your multiple killer idea is also good. Madison saying that the "spirits" are talking to her I think adds to that since it is multiple people not a single spirit. Did you happen to catch the little bit about "you've seen the clues..." I wasn't able to see what they all were before it was gone.
I wouldn't have even tuned in if it wasn't for this thread and you all saying it was actually quite good. I had to catch up online too because I missed the first few episodes.
Yes, I agree. I did the same thing and watched the premiere over a week after it was on via the net.
Did you happen to catch the little bit about "you've seen the clues..." I wasn't able to see what they all were before it was gone.
I did, but I missed them as well. From a cursory google search, I think that might have to do with the online game, Harper's Globe which is out of cannon.
